Unconventional Monster: Renegade Orbs
« on: August 12, 2004, 03:49:07 pm »
Ok, this isn\'t the usual thing you\'re used to seeing as far as monsters & just wanted to see what you thought of this idea. Well this is how they were created, a powerful alchemist mage was messing around with atomic energy & one of his experiments with magnifying \"atomics\" using Energy Orbs went wrong. Now these Orbs wander around aimlessly but seam to be attracted to any power/energy source (such as a person) & feed on their power until they get to large & then split into two separate orbs that repel each-other... They can also cause lightning storms occasionally...

Anyway, here is what they look like:

The nuclei spins around in the middle & I haven\'t decided if the \"Legs/Tendrils\" should wave around & make it float or they should walk sort of like this animation I did in Shockwave:

I think it would be creepy to see these things glowing in the dark slowly come towards you sucking energy endlessly! * Shutters *

Looks pretty cool. They could ensnare you with those tentacles, stunning you for a while... or even render you unconcious.
The internet is "the terrorists'" most important weapon, they say.
Wrong.
Fear is their most important weapon.
Ours is our freedom.

Ya know Zereph, you are constantly comming up with new ideas and make some pretty good models, and even flash animations, to go along with them. You gotta join the team... :)

I like that idea... perhaps then magic with be rendered totally useless, as these things just absorb it. Maybe even if you attack it enough with magic, it splits into two (like you said) and then you got two of the little buggers to deal with :D

Good job! And by the way, i think they should walk on the tendril thingies.

And Icefalcon\'s right, join the team!

These things are very dangerous to mages, because, I think they should suck mana, but the only spells that work are the mana/hp drain type. They are dangerous because if you destabilize them (like with a sword they explode in a burst of energy) the more you keep hitting it when the nuclei starts destabilizing the faster it will, they could be like time-bombs when the get hit? 8o

would you be able to harness these sphere orb things? Can you catch one and attach it to a staff and make a  magic-using staff?
My name is NOT pronounced, \"Kway-per,\" it\'s pronounced \"Kye-per.\"

I was thinking, if you can subdue a renegade orb, it would be really cool, like making stuff out of it, or have it fallow you around & zap the energy out of your enemies!

I Love them! I want one for my house! It\'s a great lighting effect! Maybe I can trap one in some form of cage and place it in my living room? Or, if I can make them chance color quickly, I can trap several and open up a disco, having them fly around in cages along the walls and in the center of the room! Yeah!

I\'m quite impressed,

Maybe they could be like Tears off the old Playstation Reboot game, where the energy tendrils drag you in and start zapping out your energy to become bigger?
THat\'d make them quite formidable, I think.
