Lhoran En\'Elone has been reborn in so many worlds and again he is born into that of Eventide. Maby he will eventually learn how to use the channels after memorizing (printing) the inscriptions on the Tree of Cosmic Wisdom.
I look forward to finding you IG.
By the by, there does not seem to be much of a tutorial on the finer (bestiary and location) aspects of the world. I can always explore on my own.
What Time Zone you are in and when you are on would be good things to post as well.
I am in Pacific Standard, and while I won\'t be on this weekend I\'ll probably be on there around or after 4pm (1600hrs) PST which is +8 GMT on Tuesday and after; untill the game either becomes and obsession and I a Zombie in its clutches for nine hours a day or I become so underwhelmed that I return to my more recent obsession with pointless (non-RP) psudo games like Diablo-2 or Conquer Online.
I do have to warn everyone that while the game was playable there was no one IC while I was on. In fact the OOC and Help channels were the only ones that seemed to be in any use.
Monketh, DL the thing and save me from the lack of RP, Please!

{Shadow And I were on at the same time :?  I could hear him complaining about the dummy when I logged into it the first time. Did you solve that one because you need to wait till they finish their respective tutorials before they will die and drop. Oh they will die they just won\'t drop. Cheeky little buggers if you ask me.}

Since I am all abuzz about having something to pass the endless days till CBs release, and since I am in the process of porting a MUD to Video like what these folks did and the research is sooo helping, I thought I would help anyone that is an information hound like me with this handy dandy link to Eventide\'s WarCry site.

Yeah very nice Moogie

The way you people are talking about it the game seems to be a hack and slash type.  Go hunting now, go hunting later...

You\'re not wrong, Waylander, but fortunately it does have more than just combat to keep us pacifists occupied. :) Whilst leveling is the main source of skillpoints (and the main way to level is through combat), you can spend those points in craft skills such as tailoring, mining, smithing, etc. Or you could train yourself in camping for a quicker regen out in the field, scouting to help find NPCs and mobs, hunting to find rare items, and first aid to heal yourself without using MP. There\'s also a massive range of weapon-type skills, and a host of magic skills (plus \'spellcasting\' and \'focus\' which help magic %success and power).

Another thing I always like to see is the ability to customise armour. In RoE you can tint your armour for a small fee. Also each piece is seperate, so you could mix and match different armour sets and tint them to look unique to everyone else.

hmm, sounds fun, altho I dislike the combat as main leveling up.  I would have CoD to keep the time but I just missed a clan meetin (just now lol) so, yeah I might get the game :P

All players=human?
different ways of magic?
Good quests?

Anyway, Im through the tutorial and got to level 2, where I died. I pretty much just sat there because you had to type something to ressurect yourself, and...I had no clue what it was. Someone eventually said it so I ressurected myself, but now I forgot again...

Im a Wizard focusing mainly with Druidic powers...

this game isn\'t dialup friendly is no my book it sucks. :)

EDIT: Any game that isn\'t diaup friendly is totally stupid in logic because more than half of internet users have 56k. Until that day where broadband is like dialup than, that\'s a different story. Planeshift plays fine on dialup therefore it\'s more logical and inferrable that it will do better.

Unless \"availability to every single person in the world\" isn\'t the #1 criteria.  What about all those games that aren\'t available to people without computers?  What about games for which a dialup connection just isn\'t enough bandwidth to play the game?  Perhaps games like that shouldn\'t exist?  If that were the case, we would stagnate technologically as there would be no incentive to look for something \"bigger and better\".  Turns out that many new games aren\'t very Geforce2MX friendly, or Mac friendly.  Boo freaking hoo for me.

Planeshift *has* taken a very \"accessible\" approach, using a network design that doesn\'t require more than 56kbps, and running on at least 3 distinct platforms.  Hopefully, as Planeshift continues to develop through a very open model people will be attracted to Planeshift\'s unique qualities and thoughtful design, but the argument that a game which isn\'t \"dialup friendly\" is somehow \"totally stupid in logic\" is heavily coloured by an emotional response to not being able to play the game.
