Wish list / Dead horse, meet club

I know people post about a zillion times more than we'd like asking for transport systems and the like.. I hope I'm not doing too typical a suggestion when i say i would simply like a different twist on walking that wouldn't take much tweaking from the norm, to make it transport...

I am likely ranting and raving, but just as i was dozing off, i had thoughts of planeshift & was imagining what further maps might be like... i envisioned air-based or water-based areas with people running with these

under their feet--

I imagine--assuming levels with open air or deep water between buildings could be on the table-- you could use these or whatever animals had been intended... but these would make for simple animation & nice variety...
i suppose this is lacking a why...
how about so people whose characters may not be so good with animals can travel the same (all based on assumption/hearsay/rumor)
-- or simply give some variety to whever transport gets cooked up along the way... I know original thoughts are encouraged, and i figure it looks pretty original.. to me anyway, pedals & levers, simple...

obviously neds a mechanism under it, propellor or such (type you'd see in a pedal boat i guess) if water... maybe just some wheels, make it a land thing.. or both to be amphibious... i guess the handles should turn more at the top to be held at rest...dunno if a baloon or inflated device would go nice on top or bottom...

I was wondering what category a weapon like this would fall under... I know it would be a blade... but i dunno about being sword or dagger... maybe polearm?




Tried to give it a look of something crafted based on an ulber's deadly claw



EDIT:

By the way, i figured while i was at it i'd toss up some quick melee weapon type gauntlet things... wood/metal, stone/metal & precious crystal...

PvP,PK and Thieving / magic in duels

I suppose this is more an in game tech issue... but i am also guessing this has been asked about before---

is magic going to work on duel opponents again any time soon?

Was looking at the God RP thread in general & reminded me; skill based role playing...
hmmm Character One is a weak fighter/miner but powerful mage. And is challenged by Character B-  an upse,t weak mage/figher who is a strong miner... who wins?
--assuming equal cobat skills, likely the miner; as his strength will be full to carry more ore & endurance high to run while carrying it, rather than training up all those mental stats  a mage would need...

I know magic is more a support thing... and i hate jerks who use missile & stay way far... but at least thats what their char would likely do with that resource available...
And in all fairness it should be available to them... Tho spells like freeze may prove disappointing for now, no matter the skill level...

You know in magazines like maxim they have caption contests? like a picture of a bassit hound & the quote "Botox' "before" model" or such, then ask that you submit a funnier caption or quote for the image... i was hoping to once in a while slap an image up here, usually by finding a screenie & modding it.. & ask for funny descriptions, explinations or captions... this is the first:





 "... Does anyone know how to train 'body development'?..."

Forum and Website Discussions / How many posters...?

I hope someone will tell me there are less than 700 people who post of forums.

I was just doing a quick check & noticed the forum rules of conduct have less than 700 views/

Guild forum; Guild discussion rules: just over 300 views...

These numbers seem pretty low compared to the number of people who post... maybe the link on ps main page to forums should lead to the rules of conduct ather than index... just a thought.

Wish list / yet ANOTHER transport idea

Firstly, thank you for reading, please comment, reply etc.. most threads i start seem to get maybe 2 replies without much oomph.

Secondly: my apologies, i know transport has been posted on infinitely, and this idea is likely not all that original, (but it sounded to me like it could be) i even have to admit it's not really my idea. But to me it sounded more likely doable, beacause of how balanced easyish & neat it seems compared to most transport suggestions i've read.



There was no name or visual description given to this idea i was told, but here it is:

This idea starts with an item, requiring 150 strength to weild, weighing 15-25, being equipped on the "Back" slot in equipable slots. The item would allow a person to piggyback when invited from within touch distance of the wearer.

Now assume each player's own weight with nothing (or just glyphs) in inventory weighs equal to their strength.

This means if billy & sue both have empty inventories & 150 strength, and sue buys a nameless item suggested above. sue's weight carrying capacity (WCC) is at 15/225-25/225. Then once billy is invited & hops on, the WCC becomes 165/225-175/225... this allows for each to still carry 25+ weight each, of their own, seperate from this action.
(or in theory, a  player with 225 capacity might be able to carry nothing but the item & 2 players (with empty inventories) each with strength of up to 100 or 105)

Obviously if you are on someone's back & they log off or die it makes sense you would simply be taken off their back. Neither I nor the guy suggesting this seem to know enough about how stuff is coded to know if the fall damage could go from the carrier to the carried  --like if each have 173 hp & fall does 200 damage; ideally the carrier dies, taking 173 hp of the damage, person in back gets 27 damage & is at 146/173 hp... if that's not codable than at least there should realistically be a split between falling death and combat death... after all if i'm being carried off a cliff, i understand i should likely die.. but if my carrier gets hit on the head & arms & torso etc, that shouldn't kill me...

The key element that made this suggestion seem worth posting: if an enki carries a dwarf thru the portal out of dr doesn't it make sense that they both appear in oja?

Come on that is just awesome, or at least impressively creative.

This seems very balanced  for running people between cities with current endurance settings, seems more appropriate than the 'follow' suggestions, can allow more commerce via a transport service, tourism, and hopefully is original & inspirational.

Wish list / Pet death

I'd like to know if/how /pet attack has been implemented... if it hasn't i'd like pets to be killable soon, and whenever they are: retrievable in some area of dr, like have a couple of cages with similar inventory to a furnace, somewhere not on your way out or something to that nature..

Guilds Forum / RP / PvP Guild ideas.

FIRSTLY RP IDEA; RP SHOULD COME FIRST AFTER ALL

1>> Government: like Octarchs, or whatever other sort of political leader/rulers there could be ... This would make for a great interguild roleplay if they start associating with all those who seek to uphold law order etc in hydlaa, and more interesting roleplay if they are corrupt; making the evil guilds the good ones protecting the common man... There could of course be different ruling guilds for hydlaa as opposed to akk...and they could be allied or opposed, or different depending on the politics of the week or such...
anyone who wants to run with this idea has to rp well, and has to be aware that if the guild is to be taken seriously by anyone (especially allies) the royalty can't very well be seen spending hours fighting rats, or anything else that could be done by subjects, guards, taxes etc, no reason to be mining at all ever, it's beneath you. This isn't recomended as an idea for those into levels & ranks at all, it is for rpers with plenty of time on their hands...


NOW FOR THOSE OF YOU INTO LEVELS RANKS & PvP

Recently I saw a post in the Wishlist at the PvP PK etc area at the top there, mentioning there is an option to leave duels on auto-accept; this got me thinking. The people who really want a lot of pvp only need to name their guild Gladiator or Rogue, modify their character decriptions & options, and bam, you have people who reade some thing like "You try to evaluate the strength of Insert Name but before assessing that you realize that he/she/it is in the rogue guild-- and eveyone in Yliakkum would benifit from you slaying her/him/it [duels set to auto-accept]" or "Insert Name is a gladiator who would accept all duels by force of habit. as the life of a gladiator is to spend days in the arena trying & training to be the best they can. But it would be rude to challenge & attack them within city limits [duels set to auto-accept]"


Hope I'm not creating a monster ...

I see a lot of threads going back into forever & i know we are suposed to not resurrect the dead old ones, but it is also suggested that we should search before making suggestions to see if they were made... I am curious which ideas from the past are people's favorites. like if you could nominate one change to be the only change for a long time, or most in depth change or even least wanted change (but be nice if you do those), or most original, funniest, most obvious, least likely/realistic, farthest off in the future, most dreaded [remember i'm talking wishlist, not notifications; a wipe aint a wish], most likely to happen next, etc etc...

I want to see a quote of the post you are nominating, and a brief explination what you are nominating it for and why.

I just checked ver3.014b 's torrent & laughed when i saw someone made this comment:

Is this game a quasi-virus or something? How such a piece of garbage could possibly have so much torrent activity is not believable. It has to be built in to the client and act as some kind of virus, working in the background without the user's knowledge or something? Someone please say that's the case. This horrible "game" cannot be that popular.

Wish list / buddylists' (& skins') colors

Before getting on topic i wanna mention that i hope i'm not posting something that already was, i did searches for "buddylist" "color buddylist" and "color skins" and "white krans" ... hope that was enough effort.

First & the real point (as weall know skins will be more developped/varied in time): Buddylists.
The discussion of reserving a character name got me to thinking--can we save our buddylist beyond the wipe? (in hopes of friends keeping same names)--If not: I wish for it. If so: I wish for a tutorial post. Why? I think it explains itsself. I for one can't remember all the friends' names: espcially the corect spelling. This would be very benificial when one wants their character to have a better memory than themselves, without scrolling all the way thru old logs name by name
...



Colors in the Buddylist.
I would really like to have a 2nd color grouping in my buddylist. The main reason is for enemies. I can't remember the right spelling of friends names, how am i supposed to keep track of all my enemies? Just a seperate button & a different color on buddylist is all I'm asking. I started adding enemies to my buddylist after several times seeing a familiar name & trying to recall if it was an enemy or just a passing aquaintance. so now it is only when i see a name on my list that i am unsure of i scroll logs... A different add button & a different color would save me (and hopefully others) a bit of grief

different colored skins? well I just figured it would a) get more people reading the post. 2) be a good oppertunity to suggest whie & grey hair for humans as an option, just in case it was overlooked rather than omitted. and c) a chance to ask if krans will ever be white again? and why they currently could only be blue if in past they were/could be white? ...

ok so the bit on colored skins is 90% question & 10% wish... but still... hope i didn't ramble & rant too much [rules said paragraph per idea]
