Granted or negated Wishes / Tea Diversity
« on: September 21, 2010, 03:00:43 am »
I would like to see a more diverse tea selection. This would benefit the early stage RPers who only have a very limited selection of goods to produce. This could include:

Black Walnut tea
Lavender Tea
Apple Tea- Mix up early apple baking by giving an alternative
Apple spice Tea
Black Walnut Tea
Black walnut Spice Tea
Joopiner Berry Tea
Joopiner Spice Tea
Terevan Berry Tea
Hot Honey Tea
WooDong (Fresh Fish Broth)
Bronze Door Battle Tea (Carrot Spice Tea)

Single Author Stories / The Cup of Black Lighting
« on: February 23, 2007, 12:06:18 am »
Sitting alongside the beautiful blue shores of the mountain lake Kihiri are three Ylians and their grandfather. Due to the bright blue skies over head each are able to see clear to the bottom where thousands of fish, of hundreds of different colors, swim crisscrossing each other like the threads in a weave. All the work is finished for the morning and each of the boys are very energetic and ready to see the catch which will be pulled in on their long-line.
Grandfather is on the bow of the little two man boat which today held three, bouncing up and down from the waves rocking the stern which is still in the water half way. Overall there is peace in the air and what looks like a great dinner ahead.
Tanir, braeg me mine line ud you, requested grandfather. He never can wait to see what the line produces. Instead he always throws out his hemp string with the golden Devonshire minnow on it. Dus here lure os given a me by the Octarch im-self erty years ago. This being the grandfather’s great story of the golden minnow. Either way it always seemed to bring in two or three extra fish.
Today however a strong wind is blowing from the east, and being on top of the cliffs is making it all the more worse.
Grandpa, will the line be ok with all of this wind, asks one of the young boys.
Yea mine pup it er calm down atter un ile. So the three boys continue to stare deep into the water trying to be the first to see a fish snared. Just then grandfather throws his line into the water and leans back using the sides of the boat as his back and arm rests.
Yus pups know op da merchant op dae mountin, asks the grandfather. Tell us tell us, they all say with extreme enthusiasm.
Well den, says the grandfather as he begins to tap on the boat side to create a rhythm to sing with.
In a long ago tree top in the west banks under the moon
Lived a long stringy merchant who owned a saloon
He developed a strong mug which had never been seen
And he called it the big black cup of lighting.

Well along came a traveler who’s thirst was as vast as a sea
He could of drank dry the tavern at Ojaveda if pleased
We couldn’t be happier that it is you that come here to be
So sit down our captain and let my hostess sever thee.

Well drink er up captain the lighting has been waiting for you
She won’t lead ya asunder but lay guide you more
And if you take down three mugs captain
You’ll wake up outside wet from morn.

Well the traveler knew plenty of the finer brown barrel drums
But even he was scared of the power from this tub
None the less he took it and turned it bottom to top
Next thing ya knows he was dead on the spot

Now help me my lover
Said the man to his help
Take all his money
And the rest in the lake drop

In a long ago tree top in the west banks under the moon
Lived a long stringy merchant who owned a saloon
He developed a strong mug which had never been seen
And he called it the big black cup of lighting.

Ahh------Ahh------, is the only sound he could make as he lay there. Horns were blowing in every direction and men frantically scurrying this way and that holding their billets and waving them high in the air as they yell out numbers. All is in utter confusion and he just lays there moaning in agonizing pain, but with every moment that passes it begins to feel better. He stops rocking back and forth. He removes his hand from his left side and stares up into the sky at a few cotton like cumulus clouds that slowly drift by as if islands suspended on a great and vast ocean.

Never knew I could find such a beautiful girl as you, he says. Just then he moves his hands toward a young woman just of the right age to birth children.
I don’t know if this is a good ideal, she say to him with a faint, worried look on her face as she darts her head back and forth from left to right looking to see if anyone is coming.
Don’t worry about a thing, he assured her. No one comes to this place at night except us.
You mean no one is crazy enough to come to this scary stone, she exclaimed back.
Come on now. How long has it been since we met last? Don’t ask me that said the girl and slapped him on the arm. You know good and well we meet here every night to look at the stars. Yes, he said, but a day time is much too long to wait to see you again.
Hush up you foolish man, she says with a giggle.
There the lay together just looking at the sky and the great and vast systems of colorful lights that fill it. I wonder if anyone will ever go past those horrible doors, she asks.
Come on love lets not think of the negative, only the positive, is his well thought of reply. For example, she asked. He knew she liked to think deeply anout things so he set her up with an easy thought. What I wonder is why you can’t see clouds at night?
But you can silly. Look up there. Do you see where the stars disappear into a dark emptiness. Yes, he says back to her gently. Those are clouds. They are clouds that clean the sky both night and day so that we can enjoy them always.

Uuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuummmmmmppppppp!
It is the sound a reality flowing back into his mind. Still hearing the sounds of horns blowing around him he gathers his wits long enough to look down at what use to be his arm. There he lays with his head resting on a firm rock placed roughly under the base of his head. Motionless and only capable to move his eyes in one direction being the length of his limp body.
What has happened to me he screams. What has happened to me! But no sound arises from his mouth. Only a strange and enclosed feeling of screaming inside a chest that he is locked in. What is happening to me! His mind tells his legs to move but they just sit dormant and twisted under each other like wet noodles.
   Move you blasted legs! Move!
From what he can see his left knee is suspended about three inches off the ground being supported by the inside of his foot which is buried big toe down in the dirt. Since the right legs lies in the outskirts of his peripheral he is only able to come to the conclusion that it is still intact to him.
What is happening to me, he screams inside his head once more, but again his jaw is open with no movement and now has a large quantity of drool dripping in long lines from the crease between his upper and lower lips.
Then a shadow appears in the corner of his eyes. It is moving over him but he can’t turn his head to see what or who it might be.

A fine day for training ain’t it mate, says a man roughly the same age as the one being questioned.
Sure, sure a good chance for me to take one of your eyes out pup, is his reply.
Both pull out their daggers and begin thrusting and slashing at each other next to a high hillside with the sun reaching a little past the middle of the day.
You’ll have to do better than that aye, is a remark shouted by one of the men as his dagger links with the other and comes to a stop at the handles. Who taught ya to fight ya wanker, your grandma? Just then a strong kick to the knee was felt and a hard thud was produced from where one of their heads hit the solid dry caked ground. His reply was simple, She could tear your stomach open with one of these daggers easier than I, so you best watch out or I’ll sick her on ya.
The two men carried on like this for a few hours. Just fighting back and forth and keeping their minds off of the extreme fatigue being created by the hard effort that both of them put into the fight.
Then the fighting came to a close as they set in the afternoon shade drifting over them by the hill blocking out the sun. It was a good day, said one man with a look of achievement on his face. It sure was replied the other.

Fin-ish-em! Fin-ish-em! Fin-ish-em! Fin-ish-em! Fin-ish-em! The crowed was roaring with excitement and now the shadow became a man. He just stood there looking down at the young paralyzed man that had challenged him to a duel not but and hour earlier after buying him a well made drink at the tavern.
Why, he wondered? Did this boy think he had what it took to fight him, and what luck for him to fall on the rock to make it that much easier for him? The man’s arm was about ten paces away now still moving and twitching. Located now on his shoulder was a mere mess of blood that seemed to pump out like water from a tap. How should I do it the man though to himself? Ah, what the heck.

The last thing he would see is the large foot of his killer’s right leg being lifted and pressed toward is face at a great velocity. His final thoughts were about that blasted cup of black lighting.

General Discussion / Create a new and unheard of Government
« on: February 19, 2007, 07:22:55 am »
I know this topic has been talked about before but I do not think anyone has attempted to fulfill its complete potential. Plane shift offers a very interesting and unique foundation to create something unheard of. A couple of my students and me have been discussing the parameters around this game and have discovered, maybe not, that PS offers a chance to create a government without borders. The borders are abstract and consist of an allegiance to one guild or the other, but since there can be no truly marked territory rules must be changed. These rules should be invented by us the players. If enough of the guilds out there will show enough interest in this undertaking, a couple of my students and me would like to begin an experiment that could prove to be a very interesting concept. This would not be an overnight undertaking. It might take months or longer, but one thing is for sure! It would be fun.

The first objective will be for enough guilds or independent thinkers to submit some sort of registration. (a simple I am interested and this is my guild or I am independent) This is so we can keep some record of what should be discussed. After we have received what we feel are enough participants, the next steps will proceed, being representation. That is how each guild or independent should be represented, or if another form of representation is better.

Since this game offers a worldwide audience multiple ideals can merge and hopefully create something new and exciting.

Please register here or send me a message, and if enough game members are willing then our emails will be posted for commits to be sent to. Anyone willing to deicate their time to reading ideals and compressing them for group topics are welcome to join my staff for this undertaking. Also do to a 24 hour/time zone difference people from different regions would be of great assistance.  Remember, we do not want to be the leader; we want to find a new way to define the leader!

Thank You

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Iron Too Heavy
« on: February 19, 2007, 06:47:22 am »
I am not sure if it is a bud or not but when i mine too much ore the extra are dropped. Those dropped ore then become marked as being too heavy to carry even if your inventory is empty. They can be picked up but they can't be combined with any other ore. To make a long report short, it would be nice to be able to combine thrown out ores with those tha are being mined.

I am not sure what happened last night but now PS has become a nightmare for me. Besides spending all day in the Death Realm due to teleported monsters and rouges with blood hungry killing me, I fell while walking on flat ground and dies, I was teleported twice during a fight and crashed during my last one inwhich I can not reconnect because even though I disconnected I am obviously still fighting. Someone give me some words of encouragement please I am feeling hurt!!

*edit*

Just another update! I can connect again but as normal I must start once more in Death realm after loosing A fight that I didn't even see. I know this should be on the wish list but IF I have to spend this much time in DR can I have an alternative teleporter to Ojaveda So I don't have to walk for 20 mins to get home:)

I would like to see a forum opened up to help promote and expand CB's second city. I think city issues could be discussed and maybe talks about role playing dialects, art, Stories and such. I know there is a forum for the last two but I think this game must develope a cultural identity unique to each area! After all there are some of us who choose to spend are time thinking about these instead of mission ideals. Thanks

General Discussion / Price of Weapons
« on: February 10, 2007, 12:29:49 pm »
Ok so I have spent two days now as a trader and I get alot of mixed ideals. I know t takes alot of work and I can tell that the hand made weapons are better than the usual due to wear n tear points, but this is where I am having a problem. It seems that if a person wants to open a store he or she must posses around 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Trais. I have had a few good transactions though but noone wants to buy handmade weapons because their attack values are the same as the normL ones. So I hope alot of people reply to this and give me an estamate of what good pricing is for weapons. Normal weapon I stick to the NPC price. But the weapons being bought are above normal like Icy Daggers ect... So help me out. I really want this to work becuase I feel it will add more depth to the game and allow craftmen a chance t make a name for themselves. IT WILL ALSO GIVE ME A CLUE AS TO HOW MUCH i SHOULD PAY FOR A HAND MADE SHORT SWORD THAT 193/500. Meaning Very used and hey you must be stupid because this sword is worth 50,000. Just a reply I given to me.

PS: If you came to my shop Hagel a bit I like to have fun!!!;)

General Discussion / Globs Trading Post
« on: February 09, 2007, 09:36:43 pm »
Hello all! Yes you have read right there is a new trading post opened next to the bakery in Ojaveda. I am dealing in all goods but I hope to find some top notch Handmade stuff to seel to people. So if you are a young craftsman wanting to make a name for yourself come to me and let me see your stuff. Also if anyone has cmments on what they would like to see in the store come by and chat or leave a message here, I will do my best to get what you want. Also remember supply and demand are in effect here. I can't pick up 2,000 daggers if noone wants to buy them for top price. My motive is to help craftsmen become known. So if all you got is simple stuff expect to make a sacrafice until your skills get better. So to put it basically I am looking for good middlemen or right off the building blocks stuff. Your name will be a big part of my price and sales! Thanks!

PS: Don't just come in and steal a sword or potion that is on the ground. This is someone goods and we wouldn't do it to you!

*EDIT*

I forgot to say! add me to your buddies list so you know when I am in service!

Single Author Stories / Debtor’s Dues
« on: February 08, 2007, 07:58:22 am »
…and there they were, looking through tall reeds that were split just far enough apart to allow one eye to peek through. Jalar was on all fours and Kep was squeezed tight underneath him so they looked like a small elf totem.
Do you think that rat is dead, asked Kep?
Don’t know, replied the bigger of the two.
It had been three days now that the two were hiding out in the tall reeds and their stomachs were past the growling stages. In fact, Kep had summed their hunger up quite nicely by saying, I could eat a rat. That is when they smelt it first. They didn’t want to look out but their bodies took on a natural urge to do so.

Before these past few days began the two boys were living happily as brothers on their father’s farm, but for now they were only two little specs hiding away out of sight. This is what would make the entire dead rat ordeal so strange, if they had the energy to think about it. Prior to this moment food had smells. Apples smelt like apples and porridge smelt like porridge, but this was blood. To the two boys it was life!
So there they sat. Peeking through the reeds with the days light being absorbed into the mountain like a hand covering their eyes. The necessity to eat grew stronger.
We should wait until after dark, commented Jalar, but his brother was already zoned in on the left over rat just lying there like a roasted boar on a skewer. With out even realizing what he was doing, Kep started out towards his evening feast as if he were a lion on a hunt. One foot in front of the other and without a single sound.
Kep! What do you think you are doing, whispered his older brother with a firm urgency. The man could still be out there!
Even though he had always been taught to listen to his older sibling, Kep could not stop. His body was being pulled toward the rat as if there were a spell cast. Closer and closer he crept with each step the sound of his heart grew louder. Thumping in a scrawny, under fed chest so hard that it’s motion could be seen through his clothes.
Kep, said his bother. Now in almost his normal voice, but Kep just kept right on going.
Now only five paces away and enough light left to only make out the outline of the rat, Kep lunged forward and was instantly snared by the foot. There he hung upside down under a tree and with this action Jalar also rose only to feel a sharp pain in the left side of his head. Then only to fall to his knees, fallowed by a hard thump as his head touched the ground in what seemed to be gravity pulling on him with three times it’s normal force.
Kep, hanging by his ankle, saw the entire ordeal but in small sprits do to his twisting around in circles. First, he heard the sound of breaking wind then the darkened outline of his brother standing with what looked like a stick in his head. Next, Jalarthe round top of his head and two sharp points where his ears were seemed to float on top of the reeds only to sink like a boat that had been jerked under the water by a huge fish. Finally with one last slow and tortuous spin he didn’t see any thing else but the reeds which were his cover for the last three days.
Finally got em, a deep voice said from behind Kep with a hard accent. Yus and yus brother there been hidden for quite some time me little fig top. Either way, it’s off to the slave market wit yus and da buzzards fur dat-un. And if ye grows up enough sense in yus head mate, I wouldn’t be leavin any unpaid debts like yur vater. Then once more the sound of breaking wind could be heard accompanied by darkness.
