KC, the entire PK discussion is being fought all over this board, plz keep it in the threads that were meant for it...

oooh im sorry axion.....can u forgiv me? :P

Yeah i understand i should keep it in the appropriate threads. I just thought it was appropriate enough for a responce to ur post. But anyway...

beza1e1->
1) I think a fight to the death would be cool but you should get a little knife or something to fight with or you should be able to throw the rocks around u at the big beast about to trample you to pieces.
2) You would be surprised, some people manage to spend their lives on computers playin games such as planeshift and then have no clue what to do when their stuck sittin in a prison to rot for the next three weeks.  :(  Quite disturbing actually.

hook-> well um...that wouldn\'t be a prison that would be wasting time (and bandwidth  :P ) But I guess it makes effective use of \'wasting their time for their crime\'.

Of course! Shouldn\'t any character who can afford it be able to buy a horse and caravan to take take him on his journeys. This would allow him to store a lot more stuff and give him a sense of power as he strode past the poor people who have to walk.  :]

I think this is what most PlaneShifters want from mouselook.

I reckon you would have to buy it first though. You would obtain one from a woodworker and he would sell it to you. You could then buy additions for it such as the pedals explorer was talking about and soon you could have a mobile store full of objets for sale. And the merchant could go from town to town buying items and then selling them. He could add a horse to his cart in order to travel the lang distances (needing to purchase a horse from the stables and then a harness from the woodworker and the leathersmith).
Yeah ireckon this idea could be a fun addition to the world :) Now when your logged off where would the cart go? Yould it just \'close\' and remain locked until you returned and it would be open for service? Would you maybe need to purchase somewhere to lock your cart away for the hours your gone (yet another business oppurtunity). Well im up for this one  :D  Great idea!

Well it would be good if you also picked up scars and \'battlewounds\' which would also bring out your experience, and yes it would give you tales to tell.

But one thing...it shouldn\'t be too reliant on just experience it should have to do more on how long you have been in the planeshift world. Just because you have faught thousands of monsters doesn\'t mean your an old man. You could still be an adolescent whos just gone out and put a lot of time into battling the monsters of the beyond but this would not effect how old u r.
It would be interesting to see if you could program in variables such as if you focus alot more on magic, you remain more \'fragile\' and when older more frail. But if you were the hand-to-hand type well you would be a big \'lumberjack\' of a an oldie where your flabby skin would bulge with powerful muscles.  :D

Yeah i think the apprenticship is a great idea...nice one there. But it would still be nice for a place to go when one is hungry...and maybe hasn\'t got a mentor yet.

Also when I said rewards I was thinking more like you get to wear a special broach or something, lol, not making a profit out of donation. Thats not charity, thats business.

Um well Im just totally against the fact there is no PKing, so Im counting on such a scheme being put into place otherwise well the game looses a lot of diversity and limits people to only following the \'good\' path...which is pretty restricting. If its suppose to be like living in a second world well people should be given \'freedom\'. You should be able to PK especially in order to get back at someone from maybe stealing from your dead body or if you have a strict guild well for \'dishonouring\' the family.

Hey a world with noPk is for fluffy pony RPGs not revolutionary \'lets live a second life\' MMORPGs.

Ok well lets see...

1)If you want to play the bad guy well then you play the bad guy and take the risks, wats the risk in just a quick yup ur cuffed, ok here take a couple of rubbies right now im off again. I mean sure a fining system would work for theft etc. but for killin people i reckon u got to bang em up in a cell. Its a game but not one that you can just get away with slaughterin the living daylights of people for a little fine.

2)I think escape from prison would be great...although the guard would only on the occation be up to a little \'tip\'. This would mean people cant just repeatedly get out. Digging, lol, well ok lets not take it too far...usually in a prison ur stripped of all u got anyway so u would be \'burrowing\'. Of course this would take longer than any jail sentence :D Although taking out the guards with ur bare fists well ok if ur lvl. 12560 ill let u get away with that one.

3)Well i was thinking if you leave it so they dont have to be logged in, well it would save on bandwidth and would mean you wouldnt\' have idle players just sittin in a cell waitin for their sentence to end.

4)I was wondering about this flash the jail sentence idea and thought well ok wats stopping some poor hobo with nothing to loose anyway from gettin out his hobo knife, stabbin the be-jesus out of poor Mrs.Farrel the bakers wife and then just runnin off scot free. People can abuse systems like that where they just go around getting away with...murder. Althought i dunno that rolling pin could do some damage...

Wish list / Yup me again...Charities

Ok as mentioned in my \'Prison\' thread maybe the introduction of a charity scheme would be useful. For fresh lvl.1 characters they would have a place to get a meal and recover. Of course they would only be allowed access if poor enough (the server would check how much money they have and also the \'value\' of all the items in their posession) and would then either turn down the not so poor cheapskate or show the poor, beaten and battered \'noob\' a meal and a place to rest.

Of course the charity could do more than just that. How about running a donation scheme where richer individuals can donate to the charity and be recognised for it (and then possibly be rewarded).

How about a charity shop where the poor people get access to free materials to make objects and can then sell them to the shop. [The shop would then sell those items] Of course the materials would be mostly worthless and even the final products would be worth not so much but at least it wold make them some money and could increase some skills such as wood working or forging etc.

Anyway please expand this idea...would be ideal for new commers to the planeshift world.

Yup thats right for all of those naughty people who get caught of course there should be a nice little place for them to go and have a thinkab out what they\'ve just done.
(By the way i dont know if this has been posted before but i just hope it hasnt been   :P  )

If caught by the guards the criminal should be stuck in a cell for maybe an hour for being caught pick-pocketing or making alittle violation and then maybe up to a week for more serious offenses. And then hell for mass murder and theft giv\'em 3 weeks to rot in a cell.

This time would pass even if not logged on but there would be ways of cutting down the sentence. Such as maybe doing work for charitable organisations. (oh theres another idea...ill post one about that next  :D  ) Work such as cooking food for poor players who cant afford a meal etc. and for every... lets say... chicken they cook, their sentence would be reduced by 30 minutes. Or maybe by fixing items at a forge for free etc. well ill let you guys post some more ideas  :]

Now ill write about charities....(see my next post)

yeah i understand. I would recommend different email addresses for the different types of recruitments like one for programming and one for music because i think they all just point to the main one...watever it is...cant remember just now. But seperate ones would be better for obvious reasons.

Anyway I aint in no rush, so no problem.  8)

Right well forget it then...if they dont want any help thats fine with me.

I know theyr very busy but maybe if they picked up some of the material we sent in they might get some of the work done for them.

They always seem to be wanting more help anyway. But i guess they are busy busy busy.
