Karyuu:  The reason why I asked all to answer they thought by not quoting others is: i don't want to have mess here only concrete posts. No i'm not going to force. why do you see it like that? don't you know the word 'please' i'm using? Ok Quote others let them say what they think about themselves and their ideas and we'll finally lose in totally offtopic..

why the team are agaist the changes idea... i don't know.... but ok seems that' the law.

I want everybody to let us know their thoughts about it. I want a better so say what you want

"I think higher fees for the creation of guilds is a poor solution. I would much prefer quests, for example. Anyway, good guild leaders already make sure their recruits are familiar with PS rules and guidelines. Your suggestion for guild members not to use OOC chat anywhere is also very iron-fisted. Are you here to play, or are you here to police each other for every minor offense? Please don't give our GMs more to do than absolutely necessary. Asking them to come after someone who used a single line in brackets during RP is worthy of an eye-roll.

You sound like you need to relax a bit and take on a bit more of a live-and-let-live attitude. I don't mean relax completely into "anything goes," but I wouldn't want to play a game with the suggestions you have made."

- Karyuu again...again so angry.... but i'll ask anyway. If you prefer quests, where are they? if good guild leaders are making sure about what you've said why do we still have many guilds that give a s.... to the rules? It seems you haven't read my posts correctly if there was anything about "if he uses brackets he should be punished?" Please read and make deep breath few times before posting a reply. by the way telling me to relax is so wrong. I'm cool. I'm very disappointed you took it all wrong.

Indygo: yes i miss the Vespers at this point....

now.... everybody say what they want

I'm going to quote your replies to let you know what i meant. Again... do not quote other replies please.

Guilds creation fee 200k-500k - didn't mean to set it exactly 200-500k. This is just amount big enough. All I want is to set it higher so guild creation isn't just a matter of few mining trips. Hope you get it now.

pKrime - all i want you to understand is: RPG games are made to RP, try to play lego in quake for example. You can't? well that's why because that was not the intention of making lego pieces in quake ! quake is for killing and RPG are for RP. Sorry you have to live with that fact and agree to it.... (want to talk about it? PM me.)

"If you forget to use brackets, it's not the end of the world" - of course it's not, but there is a difference between forgetting to use them and use them too much.

Nikodemus -

"Guilds creation fee 200k-500k - (will need newbies to be in game for some time before creating a guild and know each other, or let them find guild that suits them)
Nope, how can you set IC factor to stand for OOC requirement?" - Now i know what you mean. I don't want to set people newbies or not. I just want people to be mentally able to maintain a guild that's all. Thank you for bringing this out :)

"As for the rest of the post, thats really nice wishes, but i have no idea how you are going to restrict them. That would be nice if guild leaders and members cared about the whole thing, but if not... you want to punish them?
Some say we need quality over quantity. Unfortunately the quality comes with quantity. This means that many people sometimes case problems, but in other situations they are more than needed if we don't want get bored to death in this game." - Well i don't want to kill this game if that's what you mean :) i just want people to use brackets as rare as possible. most RP situations are killed with [man i hate these crashes] because some others might find it enjoyable to say [hey me too , my comp just hangs up few times a day recenty] that's why i want people to talk on groups about that things or use tells.

Shangreloo -

"I'm not sure similar guilds should be merged. There are several guilds in game with similar goals. As an example: there are at least three guilds that have crafting, and all that goes along with it (mining, smelting, sales), as their primary activity. Having several guilds pursuing similar crafting goals isn't necessarily a bad thing and invites comptetion in respect to prices for ores, stock, and crafted goods. As an independant crafter, the exsistence of one or more of these guilds isn't necessarily good for my own character, but it is good for the overall economy of Yliakum. Ultimately, I can see mandatory guild merges as being a way for larger guilds to swallow up all the smaller competing guilds.. and that's not necessarily a good thing for the overall economy." - Now i agree on that, you have right. but someone should take a look into the guilds.

"Take guild tags out of overt public view and place them in the character description instead." - I think it is right as it is. i think others are ok with it too.

Narure -

"I think we should keep guild tags untill the option for guild uniforms is in game." - yes that's how it should be

lordraleigh -

I think you've overreacted. Babysitting? It seems you're on of those who like to mass recruit and leave the members on their own. No i don't wan't babysitting. I want leaders to keep an eye on their members and hit them hard when they do something not guild-like. if you are crafters, do not take part in duels so often.  If you are fighters, hire miners to mine. Be like your guild should be. want to have miners/fighters/crafters in your guild ? Set ranks! it's just what is is for - sharing duties.

"Why should non-guilded members be allowed to do it while guilded members can't do it? " - do you think english is my first language ? of course not and so i know the others have the same problem too. And that's why i want guildleaders and guildmember to help their members in it. I don't want your members to hardcore RP he can use very simple words or answers as long as we understand what is he saying. I just don't want to hear him talking about his new girlfriend he gone to the cinema with or his brand new bmw he just bought in the middle of the event...... [want to explain him something? group or use guild tab we don't need to listen to it and those tabs can be used OOC]

I'm a bit disappointed hydlaa notable can only complain and can't propose any fix .....

the soundless

"OOC  talk should be allowed [in brackets of course] in main chat.  sometimes it is just necessary." - of course, when we need to help newcomer we can use it explain him how to use group and go on groupchannel later

Karyuu

"You can't enforce roleplay. You can but encourage it, and not with excess rules." - I don't want to enforce it. Do i want to ban/kick players ? no i want to have more clear main tab. And i think others too.....

So... here are some things that we discussed on IRC and i want you all to read it. Let me know your opinion but please do NOT offtopic, i want to hear your yes or no. (if no, give me the reason). Do NOT reply to others posts, only mine please. So...Here we go...:

Guilds creation fee 200k-500k - (will need newbies to be in game for some time before creating a guild and know each other, or let them find guild that suits them)

those are too lazy to use "/tell playername message" - use "/invite playername" instead for free temporary group

Guild leaders - Are restricted to take care of their members, should learn them roleplay, using OOC and IC, and tell them to not using OOC on main tab. forced to learn recruited ones so he knows what ooc and ic is and how to use them. Should point to the forums to read (carefully and with understanding). Teach members about everything but quest solutions.

Guilded members - Those who are guildmembers/leaders are not allowed to use OOC on main tab (even with brackets), doing so allows any player to petition guildleader to kick member for breaking the rules. Guild members are allowed to ask their guildmates only (will force guilds to be experienced, and leaders to be responsible for members).

OOC and brackets - only not guilded people are allowed to use it [in brackets of course] until they know what's going on, if anyone wants to help him/her and teach him/her, use "/invite playername"

Guilds - Each guildleader have a month to clarify rules, ranks, and eventually some story for his guild. Take a serious name which will properly describe your guild (do not choose warriors, fighters if any of your member will not fight if challanged). Guild which haven't managed to create rules etc. are deleted. Similiar guilds are merged if needed [will need GM help on that if possible]

General Discussion / Re: GM Events, a couple of questions.
« on: March 10, 2007, 04:10:26 pm »
1) What time-zone do you live in?
  a) GMT+0/GMT+2

2) How many GM events did you participate in as a whole?
  a) 0 --- unfortunately :(

3) What Type of events fo you prefer?
  e) No preferance.

4) Do the events last too long?
  b) No

5) What do you dislike most when it comes to events?
  b) OOC intteruptions

6) GM events are made so that the players have a 99% chance of winning. Is it a good idea to lower this chance, making it so that a player can loose?
  a) Yes, it increases exitement.

7) Small events always tend to be more realistic. Big events are always... big. Do you prefer Big epic events, or small events such as a woman in need of herbs?
  c) A mixture of both

9) GM events are random, cause otherwise it would be OOC. Do you prefer random events, or would you like to see a forum post announing one?
  a) I like it random, just as Role-play is supposed to be.

10) And at last, rewards. What do you tink about the rewards in the events. Think realistic for this one.
  a) They are good as it is. No wonder you don't get a suit of heavy armour from a mushroom collector.

i agree with NPC typo's espcially the ' character changed into crates in many places - "too far away to loot rogue[]". the [] was a crate but dunno now how to type it ^^ It was in laanx dungeon so i don't know if it was really a rogue [the two down spiral stairs]

and finally adding the marriage icon in the context menu [option is there right to eye icon but no icon of marriage proposal - only window appears when you click it]

as well as adding the icons to swords/items without icons [i don't force you to make new icons, at least add the ones that are available]

fixing some weapons slashes (silverweave axes/swords) and requirements - like the short sword of seduction - it needed will and lowered will - so even when drank potions and have "enough" you ended up in deequipping the sword - shame :P

these should be easy enough for begginer DEVs ^^

HEy' you've asked i replied, i'm not an expert
how do you think, why i asked GM/DEV to post their opinion?
it's because i'm not sure that's why. i want to know how should i see it but i don't want to take their time in-game...

really? but i see a paradox...

begginer merchant will of course have at least 500 000 tria to afford more than one silverweave short sword he is looking for at a time...

ok if he does i will check him for buying two or more silverweaves, i know some buys and offers only one but this can be easily cheked out, if someone is looking for kind of weapons it's ok but if he looks for 1x weapon that shoudln't be called a merchant

i think that's offtopic anyway

just think...
of course weapon merchant will seek only for silverweave short sword, right? are you ok? merchant does not buy only certain weapon ....
he buys all otherwise he's not a merchant

merchant would say: buying weapons 5.4 or greater --- for example.

man... think please

Karyuu:
I think you misunderstood. "lone characters" can start their auctions of course. I just don't want them to post "i will BUY XXX" or "i'm looking for XXX" - let's leave that to merchants only

Karyuu,

I understand there are many things that excludes some situations, however if we want to make this game as RP as possible we should make rules that people will have to keep on otherwise they will get many /tells it's forbidden or "you can't do that, instead use XXX method". You now know how i see it? if you want to make this game RP you can't let them OOC as often as possible.

thank you for pointing out that tells are OOC and OOC should not be used in RP part of the game.

i don't want everyone to run a business however if there are merchants in-game then:
- they have daggers swords etc for sale
- player know merchants and ask merchants for items
- merchants are known and always buy items for players and they can shout/(even at auction) "i'm buying items blahblahblah"
- players don't need to sell via "/tell me offers" because they know merchants who will buy them for sure,
and players don't need to post "i'm looking for a silverweave" because one of merchants will have it, they buy them from players.
- just group with some merchants to get the highest price for your item/ or lowest price for item you want to buy
- auction the item if you wish to make an auction, not get highest amounts of tria as possible.

see what i mean? better interaction with others as well as removing as much OOC as possible.

whoever who points this topic to OOC an IC should stay calm, this post is for explaining the meaning/using/rules of Auction tab

sorry but this gone too far...

i asked two simple questions... the answer would be yes/no so WTF you are trying to tell me about ooc ic. (sorry for being straight).

1. "i'm looking for blablabla" on auction channel ---- yes or no?
2. "/tell me offers, /tell me your prices" on the auction channel ---yes or no?

is is so hard to choose between two answers and type one? i assume everyone that know about the forum know about ooc and ic so don't post this for 1000th time ok?

Hadfael you're great  \\o//  i like the idea with BS

"selling Bull----It of Peace" ^^

But we're not here for this...let's back to the topic.
I like the idea to compare quality of items by saying it's 10 times better than regular ones (actually silverweave ss is 5 times better than regular). That won't make many question with stats. that will make many things clear. I also like the idea to look at the item and not ask for details (should be a rule if you ask me ^^) [otherwise use /tell]. Auction should be used as auction so selling from one tria. People use it only to know everybody of their wants/spares because auction is wider than any other chat. (next rule: if you're not going to sale something from one tria: use shout/say/tell )  OR please rename Auction tab for Sales/Wants. I think it ridiculous people are auctioning their wants and phrases ^^ can i auction the thing called "buying siolverweave!" of course not, there is nothing like this and people will not put their offers  lower and lower just to sale him their silverweave... Please think about it

That's how i see it. I will be greatly appreciated if GM/DEV team will make it clear how to use Auction tab (point by point) in rules section. After making it clear i'm sure we can make the window totally IC or OOC,but if Planeshift is rpg Auction should be IC only tells OOC... Public channels IC  --- not public OOC

so:

as long as group auction will be made we can allow /tell, but not /tell me offers? (to be sure auction is public somehow and we know someone don't forces us to pay more)

and noone told yet how we should treat seeking items on auctions. (as far as i remember auction is for sales :) ) so how?
