The game crashes after the load bar that loads the world when you join with a character gets to the end. I have sent the diagnostic file off but its stopping me get ingame which is annoying. The case is the same with 4 different characters so i don't think it's area related.

Windows xp media ed. service pack 2
Radeon x600 (up to date drivers)
Pentium D CPU 3.00 ghz
1gb of RAM

Game is up to date.

I've tried disabling the sound... Didn't help. Just thought I 'd mention that as it was something people used to be told to do.

General Discussion / Anti-Powerleveler Idea

If we got rid of the numbers do you think it would get rid of powerlevelers? With the exact same system in place (Even though it needs replacing) do you think if the numbers weren't there to be plainly seen it would discourage people levelling for the sake of levelling. Why would we want to get rid of these people? Well they aren't productive to the community and they are typically the type who use leet speak.

A change to the effects of food. Eating 100 loaves of bread shouldn't REALLY bring you back from the brink of death. I would go so far as to say if you ate that much of the same food in such a short period you would be sick. I think (important words there) food should only heal hp down to 50% after that it has no effect other than to keep your stamina up (wish should fall if you are on less than 10% hp). If on under 50% you should need greater health care to bring your hp back up and it shouldn't regain slowly as it does now. Under 25% your health should go down slowly. You should get knocked down by monsters the same way you do in a dual. When in this position you can ONLY /die and talk in main, if you have stamina (and /shout and /say use stamina in this position). After 30 seconds you go tot he death realm, though this could be sooner if the monster you are fighting is carnivorous and eats you (there should be a short period still so you can be saved by another player). Some races should have the advantage that certain monsters don't eat them. All these things give an advantage to people who choose to work together.

I know this has been discussed many times. However this is my interpretation of it. I don't feel the current system is satisfactory.

On the descriptions of the new mobs it says "you see a Gobble3" or "you see a Clacker2". I assume the number after the name is a bug because it doesn't make much sense.

Wish list / Guards

Well Its sounds like the sort of idea that might be kicking around the wish list already but I did search  X-/ .

I think there should be a mob called 'Guard' that GMs can spawn anywhere in the Hydlaa. These would attack anyone taking a combat stance. The GM could then take the role of lead guard which would lend to the RP immersion. This kind of requires an RP GM team style thing which I know has been discussed but not rejected as far as I can tell.

PvP,PK and Thieving / Godmodding prevention.

What i think is a solid reason to implement open PvP is that it helps RP's in such a way that it gives equal control to the assalting and defending parties. It should definatly be put in game in such a way that in most cases the risk greatly out wieghs the reward for attacking people. In real life (and I have seen it stated that you are aiming for realism) fights happen ALL the time. Rarely fatal, and neither should they be in planeshift, but they happen. What happens alot in planeshift is that the person being attacked will just walk away for no good reason other than the conflict doesnt beifit their character. So In a sense we are gods. Our characters cant be touched unless we want them to, we are all untouchables :P open PvP would give a sense of mortality so players would be forced to RP accordingly. But not everyone is here to RP and will just use it to grief, I here you cry. Well thats just a matter of how its implemented, not a reason not to implement it at all.

  • Non-leathal combat
  • Have new players be 'protected by talad' for their first few hours of play. Krans get an hour longer as a race bonus?
  • Have the risk greatly out wiegh the reward, gaurds, jail etc.
  • Carrying weapons in a public area in a city bounds will have you automaticaly arrested (after a warning) If spotted by gaurds. This means any fights that do break out will most likely be fist fights and more likely than not non-leathal as before it gets to that point another player/NPC will interviene
