This is a problem that occurs everytime there is a major update. This is the fix or mod I use from an old post, I have it saved as a text file in my odds and ends Planeshift folder, you should do the same

"As it has been reported already (use search function) this think about white labels was happening to a certain amount of players.

Quoting res, there\'s the solution:

Blind shot: does uncommenting the line \"Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_SGIS_generate_mipmap = false\" (remove the leading semicolon) from data/config/r3dopengl.cfg change anything?

So what you\'ve to do is, basically open the file r3dopengl.cfg with the notepad and remove the \";\" at the line stated. Good luck."

*edit*

sorry if thats confusing it's what ive saved from an old post and have done it a lot so I understand the text lol. Basically go into you Planeshift folder, find file named "r3dopengl.cfg " open it with wordpad or notepad of you can. You will see this line of code "Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_SGIS_generate_mipmap = false" with a ";" leading off the line. Delete the ";" and save. Load PS and those pesky white boxes should be gone. Hope this helps.

General Discussion / To clear up torrent vs. client
« on: February 08, 2007, 11:24:17 pm »
The client is the P2p(peer to peer) program you use to download the torrent which is the file. Here is a list of all clients http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_BitTorrent_software and what they support. For instance you use Azureus (the p2p program) to download the newest torrent file of Planeshift. The list on the page also give links to each repected client site to get the program. Hope this clears up some of the confusion. It seems a lot of people are confused about torrents and clients and which is which.

I understand the whole Theory vs. Fact debate, but there is many things I don't need to know for fact to believe they are true, eating certain things to know what they are, if it smells and looks like it, it is. Facts are, ice shelves are melting, creating more black water, which abosrbs the Suns rays, creating temperatures in the oceans to rise, making ice melt faster. The Green House effect is widely disputed, but there seems to be good evidence there something going on with, turn on the news, there are a lot more weird, wacky weather crap happening, things climate wise are definitely changing.

Server Status / Re: Best torrent to use for new client.
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:29:50 pm »
I use UTorrent, it uses the smallest amount of resources of any of the clients I've used(which is most of them) and it's got some nice little features. I tweaked mine and was able to get about 670kbs at some points, and stayed around 600kbs on average. Now servers up please!  \\o//

Thanks Sovhed, I actually rebooted and it worked, didn't need to re-install, but thank you for the suggestion. I will leave this here incase someone else searches for the same error, so they can try that! *cheers* :)

Read through exception errors in forum, searched through the forum, and found nothing on this error. I keep getting EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION at 6900E48E  I followed the tips from other threads, (updating, etc.) and nothing is working. Character name is the same as forum name, character is stuck outside between sewer, and Percival. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

My guilty pleasure would probably be cheesy 80's slasher flicks. Most people find them stupid, but I like to sometimes, just get like a few Old Friday the 13th's, Halloween's,  a rack of beer, and watch them all night.  :P

I agree and understand where you are coming from. There are some characters that are respected not based on WHAT they are but for WHO they are, and that\'s fantastic. There is also people who are respected by WHAT they are and not WHO they are. I hope there are always villains and good people, to me that\'s what makes RPG\'in fun, to others maybe not. One thing Ive always enjoyed doing is hanging near Harnquist and helping others figure out stuff, that\'s not to say others might like to just go to the arena and challenge stuff. My only point is I dont see why others care what others have or do. It makes no difference to my character, but yes for me being able to craft a new guy something to help him, or being able to do stuff that you need to be a certain skill level to do is. I already stated I know they are going to be doing a wipe or whatever and thats cool too, but for people to say advancing as a character has nothing to do with what skills you can do and nothing to do with story development, TO ME is completely wrong and I can\'t agree with it no matter who says it, but I can be agreeable disagreeing.  =)

Sitting all day and leveling up has nothing to do what I said. There will always be people that do that, and look for ways to do it, even by hacking into a CRPG. These are the people I stay away from. I just dont see why people would even care about them in Planeshift as them leveling up doesnt effect anyone in anyway. I dont care how much money anyone has, or what weapons they have. By your definition you may as well just go to an RPG chatroom. Experience is a basic staple of an RPG and earning experience points as the game progresses. I understand that Role-playing games are typically more collaborative and social than competitive, but to say that skills don\'t matter is completely disingenuous.
