General Discussion / Re: Design of Gugrontid tavern owner
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:56:48 pm »
My thoughts are nothing to do with running the tavern, but a Kra spending his time reading books sat at a table there.

Name: Kra

Trains:

Race: Kran

Background: Shortly after birth his parent was lost to a cave in at BD.
He was trapped for days in the cave his parent took shelter in during a bad storm. Kra was found by a Stonebraker out looking for new mines, and was raised partly by him. Kra was named Kra as it was the first word he said on being found. Hence his strange liking for an ale and the odd dwarven words.

Sells: Ink/paper. Blank Books/Maps. Gems.

Chat: [Hello] Hello their take a seat. Dovoy Sir/Ma'am. [Kra smiles] Greetings.
[Who are you] I am Kra, I have a passion for books learning and beer [Kra winks]
[How are you] Nice of you to ask, I am well thank you. Apart from the need of an ale fine [Burst into Laughter] Kra is good.

Description: Kra is spotlessly clean apart from the odd ink stain on his fingers. Oddly he looks at home in a tavern.

General Discussion / Re: Disruption Poll
« on: July 21, 2009, 06:27:55 pm »
 Ok try a different approach.
I see this as two separate issues, yes the solution is the same for both, and that would be. Give GMs more freedom in dealing with both issues, could be a quiet word [tells] offering advice if wanted, or friendly warning in case of disruptive.
Now grey area is what is disruptive or snooty RP. in most cases I think we can all agree this should be left up to the GM/s in game at the time, as I do not think we can all agree what is and what is not, as we all have our own way of Role Playing.

Example of what I do not like.
Is players dropping things by or close to players RPing, but it might just be part of there RP for all I know.
Players sending you /tells or in main "Do you mind we are RPing here, go away or I will call a GM. [No excuse for this one if all you are doing is stood there watching what is going on]

General Discussion / Re: 'What makes me steam' suggestion guide
« on: June 15, 2009, 08:50:07 pm »
As I already said I didn't write this to get justice, but i do feel he was in the wrong. Not becuase he broke an rules although i gather several of the GMs feel I should have reported him, but becuase he started the conversation with insults and tried to get his way with force.

As I pointed out from my highlights, it shows you were in wrong, You did not talk to player, yet got upset because they did not talk to you, when they did it was rude.
Also you went in room and after some time noticed a player there, laid claim to over half of the monsters ^^
So you see it is not all roses for your side of story.
As for  i gather several of the GMs feel I should have reported him That is not implying you were right and they were wrong, but because they need it in writing that cannot be denied, So they can see what really was said.

hmm had something annoying happen.

I walked into the treporpit that has five trepors and wanted to train seeing the NPCserver ws actually up for a change hehe ;)

Trepors were all alive so I felt I was in luck. Apparently someone else was already in the far right corner that I missed seeing three kills later I saw someone magicing "my" fourth trepor to death. "Darn it" I thought but ahh well not like it happens often that you get the treporpit all to yourself (more now with fewer people ofcourse but still :P). So I went back and made sure to leave atleast two trepors free for him.

Then he started trying to kill the trepor I was standing next to eventhough one of the trepors I didn't touch was still alive. Now mind you this isn't the irritating part. Well ofcourse I went like wtf in myself but if he wants a competition for the third trepor or something it was his good right in my eyes. In theory it is even his right to try and get them all but that doesn't seem like the civil solution.

The truely irritating part started when he challenged me to a duel still haven't said anything neither in tell nor in main and after I declined he send me a tell that I had no honor that it was a comon unwritten rule that if someone else was in the pit noone else should be there and said i had to be a complete newb for not knowing this.

Well even if this is true (seeing i never heard of such a rule nor experienced other people leaving when I'm first) it is not all to smart in my eyes to start a conversation that way.

So I told him I had heard of no such rule nor ever experienced it and that I really wasn't a newb and did't apreciate being called that but was still willing to be polite about it and share. He didn't reply but suddenly there came a guildmate of his and after a while a third a fourth and even a fifth all trying to make sure I got no trepors at all.

One of the few times I was happy to be majorly dagger.

But yeah I find it irritating when someone starts acusing you of doing something wrong and calling you a newb and all without first having a normal conversation and then trying to bully you by numbers if you don't comply.

Thanks to all for reading this rant.;)
Just writing it here to get it of my chest and be done with it. ;)

 Let's brake this bit down.

[ magicing "my" fourth trepor to death.] MY Meaning yours^^
[Trepors were all alive so I felt I was in luck. Apparently someone else was already] Look more closely you said he was using magic, Most magic is very hard to miss seeing.
[So I went back and made sure to leave atleast two trepors free for him. ]
Very noble of you you are late there and clam 3 of the 5 ^^
Now the part were he talks to you, I want to know did you talk to him on noticing he was there. Because to me so far you have been the one to upset the other player, from what you have said, you did nothing or said nothing to this player, yet you condemn them for not talking to you.^^
So going by your own words, from my point of view you started the whole thing.
The player was reacting to your intrusion, I do not blame them for that, also you hint at dagger, yes it is faster, a good way to beat someone and tick them off, as you butted in on his fun, As for calling his Guild mates, do not blame him, give you a bit of your own medicine.

The only thing I disprove of is their challenge and claim  [a comon unwritten rule that if someone else was in the pit noone else should be there ]

But we all must remember there is two sides to a story, so do not make a decision based on solely one side.

General Discussion / Re: Godmodding GMs!
« on: May 07, 2009, 10:35:11 pm »
My two tria, Not all events are run by GMs, Also Not all events are written by GMs, Hence some events may be run by Devs and their learners. ^^
So make sure you know all facts before posting dribble about GMs. ^^
When a dev is running an RP event, they'll be seen as a GM by the players.
Being seen does not make them GMs, also they do not have same powers as a GM ^^
So again know all the facts ^^

P.S. Devs know more about settings ^^
P.P.S. GMs have to ask in some cases ^^

Also completely unrelated to this, Janner will be in game, IF I see Godmodding, be sure I will report it, no matter who the Muppet is ^^

Wish list / Re: Repeat last statement
« on: April 17, 2009, 11:06:28 am »
Back to the topic:

@Vengeance, I think that's a great idea. Perhaps every quest step could have a fixed trigger saying "repeat last statement", even when engaged separately. The only issue I see is with a player talking to an NPC which is involved in two or more different quests. So basically, which "repeat last statement" will he answer to?

When new system for quests is in game, do not think this sort of thing will be much of a problem, as when window opens a option can be added to repeat. [[Suggest new window opens on choosing this option, you then add quest name]].

General Discussion / Re: i have an issue

First off you did no wrong.
BUT if I am right you can place items on the ground AND they are guarded from others picking them up, there is also a option I believe to switch this off, therefore if you are disconnected the items should remain guarded for a reasonable time.
[not sure if it is.] This is a fault of the game and should be looked into.
Also depends why they were placed on ground in first place. Lets say one of the salesman[woman] has all there wares out on the table provided for such things, AND puff disconnected, free for all under rules tough matty you should not have put it on ground.
Again as this is provided by the game, so should be looked into.

Remember if you do not want to loose it, keep it in your inventory.
 That is just my view.

In-Game Roleplay Events / Re: The Trial of Lanfor

I have no wish for this thread to be closed so, just keep in mind Player and Characters are not the same.
HaniX already knows I think highly of the hard work he and the team put into this.

Just a small word in Donari's Defence, that is what the character does, so do not knock this player for doing what the character would do.

This sort of post makes me sad to read, as all you need is a GM in game same time as you and they can move you, when in game next type /who game, a list of GMs in game will show, [if any in game] explain what is happening and they will move you.

Frankly I am amazed you are laying this at the newbie door, shame on you, In the 18 months I was a GM I was privy to watching RP in game, with the cloak of invisibility on, AND old players are just as bad, soon as it does not go your way out come the brackets, so clean up your own act before blaming it on the new only.

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Transfering my game to the new server??
« on: April 06, 2009, 01:00:53 am »
I would think it is possible as WOW (World Of WarCraft) do it.  But it is time consuming so think only in exceptional circumstances would it be done.
