General Discussion / Re: Expanded Armor Types?
« on: July 29, 2007, 04:31:58 pm »
Very nice topic, and nice post Zan...just a suggestion, make skins of different colored armor versions, for example, the Kylros chainmail armor right now, it's okay, but I find it a bit ugly. If I could change to a different color every now and then it would be a bit more refreshing. It's not all that hard to change the hues of a skin if you know how...I don't see why this couldn't be done with the all the existing armors in two hours.

The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: Oh if it could happen. PS on the PSP
« on: June 30, 2007, 09:17:48 am »
Get a hold of Erisnas, he claims he coded a onboard keyboard and got the game on his PSP.  ::) I'm sure it's possible, but I doubt he really did it. Anyway, if you can get in touch with him you can take it up with him.

Guilds Forum / Re: [Guild] DarkReign
« on: June 29, 2007, 10:28:12 pm »
Man this place got spammed up lately. When we first formed the guild it was going to be good. It was formed because a person ****ed up the last one and that little recruitment thing was because we had to get five people in time. I believe all five people were out within five days and good members in soon. We had plenty of evil people. Either way, guild got disbanded a while back. Or shall I say some prick went on a kicking spree?

Anyway...obviously we went from "no ranks in mind" to a much more organized guild in about two or three days since it was just originally made to start up somebody else's idea. (under my name hehe) And no, we didn't go crazy strict saying evil only etc. We did however keep looking out for evil people like I said. That doesn't mean we ONLY recruited evil people and such. Either way guild is gone and I'm off to NY from 30th(tommorow) to 15-16th.

You guys pretty much figured out the point of the name though. It was to describe the cause so to speak. I might go make another one or remake it though. Since the one I'm in/made now I'm basically giving to Sainrith/Benide. Enjoy. By the way that story, it really is just a simple story to describe our attitude. The whole peaceful village part was made by a friend, you shouldn't go off first impressions anyway. I'm off, see you guys later. If three other people want to get another evil guild going let me know when I get back.

This game has a very lower playerbase. It doesn't make much sense to make it take forever to train. Logically yes, it does, it's realistic. I love realistic. When you can only find 200 people playing the game(if that) at a given time, at least half of them maxed, it doesn't make much sense to make it harder for the ones trying to get there. I think magic and wepaons and such take almost long enough as it is. As I said, strength and everything should be easier in the beginning, and near impossible around 17, weapons and such should be a bit harder in the beginning.

It sounds like the slot is burnt out. It happened to me once after some Oblivion abuse. I never checked whether I fried the card or burnt the slot but the slot is much more likely.
Just go get a new card.

PCI or AGP both right there. That is if you're fine with DX9. If you are, it's the best on the market. For DX10,  you'll be shelling out 400$ and all the cards on Newegg for ATI DX10 are about the same. Anyway, try putting it in a different slot, others should post up more helpful things soon.

Xordan did that while I was talking to him on IRC :)
He also had the solution to my complaints, and I kind of agree with him. Instead of magic becoming more powerfull and cheaper and easier to train, combat should become more difficult :)

I do hope you mean stats and not combat. Though combat IE weapons skills are somewhat easy in the BEGINNING. Make things like strength easier to train in the beginning as well, Ex: 65-100 area, or 65-80, then make it normalish(like now), then around 125 make it harder, then 150 somewhat hard, then 175 nearly impossible. Add that on to Bilbous's
ideas. I do think magic should become a bit more powerful. At the least Red/Blue way. Honestly right now I only view Dark and Crystal as powerful or even useful. Also magic IS just a bit expensive to train, I mean, if you're using it as an alt for combat it's nice. If all you're going to do is be a mage and train Crystal Way so you can cast Energy Arrow at 90% it's going to take you forever.

You shouldn't have to max out your character before you're able to play the game.

What's the fun in just walking around being weak as hell? I don't care for sitting around and RPing all day. I like to kill things from time to time, and play around with magic.
Since I don't care for killing rats, my strength is 175. Since mana starts out amazingly low my intelligence is currently 120 and charisma 103. Since I gave this character a few OOC events his stats started off fairly wrong. I've spent about 200K and only one of my stats is above 120. I like to sit around and RP, but all day is too much. There's not too much else to do for now besides train or RP. The quests still lack an absurd amount of polish but I'm going to start doing them soon anyway.

Oh no, I'm fine with it taking longer than 2-4 weeks. After all it is MAXING. I just think the training system sucks. I mean honestly, when you first start out with your measly 60-110 strength...it shouldn't take much to train it. When you get to 125-150, it should take a decent bit, and maybe at 175 area it should start to become ridiculous. On the other hand, when you start out with 0-12 in a weapons skill, it's already quite ridiculous. It goes from 10 to 80 PP to train it, that's not that bad. Except for you're till quite weak with it shouldn't take that much. Still, not that bad. 10 to 80 though can be a lot when weapons training is expensive. If it keeps going at that rate it will be quite annoying. They should tone down the exponential rate of skills just a bit, and add/tone up some stats exponential rates. I hope they make things trained by use in the future. Aka intelligence from reading, endurance from getting hit too much etc. Honestly does it make more sense to pay a personal trainer 20,000$ a month, or just stay at home and do some push ups? Would you rather go to a boring private school for 15,000$ a year or would you rather read an interestng book? Would you rather study swordplay and get good that way, or study in the beginning and then start fighting? It doesn't make sense to pay/use PP for everthing. So it shouldn't take 2-4 weeks IMO. Especially when any older players are completely maxed with high armor/weapons levels. Also, MMOs should be about fun not about taking 1-6 months to "max" your character.

I think it's taking forever to max out anything on mine. I mean, sure, it can be easy to make money. Take a trip to the Oja gold mine. It can be easy to get PP, if you know the right monsters. If you consider how not everyone likes to do that constantly, and I will testify it does get quite boring after a while, it takes a decent amount of time to max characters if you ask me. I've been at it for maybe 2-4 weeks. I find it hard to believe I can make 100K, and then blow it in 10 minutes, and barely have raised a stat any more than 10-30 levels. 100K should be worth a lot more...I realize maxing isn't the point of the game but just the basic training shouldn't cost so much. It takes at least 200K to max the "easy" basic stats. I think when you're a newb that's a bit harsh. There's not much motivation to do much else for now. RP is fun, yeah, that's about it though. I want do some of everything, and with the quest system being so unpolished and magic so weak, etc, etc. It's kind of hard to do it without leveling up some stats/skills.

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Charisma
« on: June 20, 2007, 10:34:52 pm »
Oh yeah...all those books for fat idiots that don't work? Oh oh! Don't forget that a lot of countries either don't have many people going to school or have an awful school system.
I don't know if this is news to you but a lot of kids hate school...a lot. They'd rather just pursue knowledge on their own when they feel like it. It would work a lot better than forcing them to go to school and memorize material then forget it after the year's up. Besides, if it was like that, stupid people could stay stupid, idiots who think they're going to become famous rapper gangstas(fags) could start working on getting shot five times and surviving earlier. Meanwhile less stupid people could actually pursue their career instead of taking 5 classes for 16 years that has nothing to do with it.

Get the point yet? You don't learn much in school. Most people just end up getting some average job and forgetting it all. Kudos to engineers and people that are still smart, and a lot of them can be quite dim in other areas besides math and such. Besides one little trainer should hardly have time to nearly instantly teach one person, than the next, then another 100. Charisma is the skill of persuasion after all. Train it by bribing NPCs and such. Intelligence by reading books...or maybe solving puzzles.

Complaint Department / Re: Why are Q300 weapons still in the game?
« on: June 19, 2007, 07:41:36 pm »
No I mean that if you repair them all the way. It always drops. It just seems dumb. In real life it would even make some sense(at absurdly high levels) to make it even better than before on repair. If max Q never drops they can safely just take the whole stacking thing off because it won't really be necessary for any repair fixing. That way people would actually have to make two instead of make one and use some 25/50 sword to make the second.

General Discussion / Re: Library books.

You can read the books on the shelf? Like...the repeating texture of books that look like they do nothing? The ones that go through the whole library? Or am I missing something. It sounds like it'd always be nice and entertaining if I get bored sometime soon.

I never claimed to know anything about it. All I'm saying is, if you put all that time into making a weapon, you should be able to make another one. Don't wipe the Q300s already in existence, no matter what the circumstance. Just make it so you can't make any crappy old sword exactly the same due to a feature/bug. All they have to do is make it so as you go up in repair level the max quality won't drop. That way it's more risky too. Risk = Fun...

I like it for the reasons stated previously...it's not just kill kill kill fall the f**k asleep and still manage to kill with the handy dandy auto attack anything near you feature that makes the game even more stupid because you're not even playing it. That's a bit  specific, feel free to vague it up to fit any game you want. I hate WoW, not because it has 10M people who I believe a lot of them idiots I'm sure, not saying PS doesn't have a few idiots running around either, just not 9M, or anything else of that matter.

I hate it becasue it's just stupid. You have retarded looking rogues and other characters, all dressed in gigantic armor that looks far too big for their bodies, flying ships, and supposedly 'awesome' PvP even though it's very far from being skill based. Feel free to flame me for flaming WoW, I still hate it. Other games I hate for just the kill kill kill parts. WoW though, it's just stupid if you ask me. If I didn't have to shell out my money for it, maybe. Probably not though.

PS is in beta/alpha/whatever it's not important. I don't get why people expect an awesome fully-functional amazing entirely RP oriented MMO. I also don't get why they complain that the game sucks and then when they post they say nothing about the game just about it's bugs...which is stupid, people should know it's buggy when they see alpha/beta.

No I think they should just have to make a nother one..after all why would you train so much to make it yourself and then copy it? Your saying you don't want people to be able to copy from the Q300 obtained from no effort but if they can make it themselves they're entirely free to do so? That's stupid.
