Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Re: Issue Attacking
« on: August 22, 2008, 03:49:34 am »
um, maybe it is only the npc server that is down. if it is, then it is normal, otherwise, then there's a problem.

it's ok. I simply saw similarities between the two.  But I think that is  :offtopic:

just one thing, why did you post that in the wishlist section? that section exist for ideas like this one.
Also, I have seen in another game a similar system where the player used animal parts to upgrade his weapons. I think the name of that game was Metin2 or something like that...

Wish list / Re: Voice Range Colors
« on: August 18, 2008, 10:45:05 pm »
Hmmm...  Maybe if the text got dimmer (or smaller) and harder to read, the further away the speaker? ;)
I think that idea would make more sense than changing the color of the text. But, I think that that suggestion could get affected by some "voice range radius" which could be changed to represent how far the character wants to be heard. But I think something more or less similar to that "voice range radius" idea has already been discussed somewhere on these forums.

Ah, here's a link to that thread:

I believe there is a race that is "allergic" to metal... but i assume they can train and wear medium and heavy armor... that is made of metal...

Um... that race is not allergic to every metal, but only to the metals that are considered as being precious metals. So that means they can wield metallic armours, as long as these armours don't have any component made from precious metals.

General Discussion / Re: How did you find planeshift?
« on: July 21, 2008, 09:07:54 pm »
Well, I had left Second Life (for various reasons) and it turned out that I needed something else to waste my time with  ;D. But I didn't want it to be like SL so I somehow decided to go for free+medieval+games if I remember right. So I used Google and this site (jeez, I dug it out again!  :sweatdrop:), clicked on a few links and the first thing I tried became my home  :P

Well, for me the story is similar, just that instead of SecondLife it was RuneScape. In other words, I found PlaneShift thanks to the same site as Morla.   ;D

Fan Art / Re: A few male dwarf hair and beard style (conceptual)

Woah, I'd like to see them ingame. That would make more styles and possibilities to make dwarven character even more diversified. I really like the way you drew it.

If other peoples and you could drew that type of drawings for every model, that would be even greater.

General Discussion / Re: stamina changed?
« on: July 19, 2008, 10:06:55 pm »
I have found another way to minimize the effects of the drain (although it doesn't eliminate the drain completely):

Try making one step forward to trigger the drain. when you see that your stamina is starting to drain, hit the Right Shift key to start sneaking. Don't stop when you see your stamina draining, otherwise it will do absolutely nothing (it won't stop the drain). If you are fast enough, the drain can stop at 95% (assuming you were at 100% when you moved).

I think asking NPCs about their ancestors and people of their family should get an answer other than "i don't understand."

An example for this: I was in Jayose looking at books at random, when I opened the one about gugrontid. I looked at the author, and then went to an NPC with the same lastname as the author's. I asked that npc about the book's author, and he answered "I don't understand."

I think he should answer to a question like that. to me it would seems logical.

The money could be dependent on factions or skills like empathy etc.
I thought the empathy skill was used to control familliars?

ohh that sort of buildings :o yes sure that can work, its like accessing Winch or the Black Flame. you need to be part of certain
community and have done special quests to get into these places.
reward: some quests with special items only those who got access to there! :o

i suppose there could be the same with any other organisation like the Octarchal Residence for example. maybe they could permit you to access other part of the residence by doing some quests for them..but what would be behind the doors...no idea  ;D

Yes, I think you fully understand what I mean.

so guilds for you is more like Factions  ::| which is already implented ^_^ each quests you do, you gain factions within a certain sort of organisation: merchants, thieves, uh what else, miners, so many =)..
but there arent places for all types of factions yet  ;)

dont know if you were thinking at what i just wrote or not  ???

Nope, that's not how I see my suggestion. I see the NPC-leaded guilds as guilds that can be related to some ways to the factions, but not to every factions. For example, the factions regarding a race isn't related to the guilds. Jobs-related factions can be related to these guilds (The factions like rats/teffy/ulbies or the like would be related to the hunters' guild).

hmm specials items are already given out to people who do quests and get into GM events. however not everyone have a house, so i think it wouldnt be fair that some get special items and some not. so i reject :o (even though i have a house  ;D)

What I meant is that the Guildhouse would be accessible to everybody (Like the octarchal residence situated somewhere in Hydlaa, but I won't say where precisely), but there would be parts of it that would be member-only. Also, the items that could be bought in the shop would give some bonuses (for example, a filleting knife (I know there's one as a quest item, but that one isn't. It could be an useful item.), which would give bonuses like a greater rate of animal parts and/or furs as a loot when wield, or also a bigger loot. (would only work on monsters giving animal parts and furs as possible loots.)), or even no bonuses at all (like a portable stand (a furniture that can work like a bag when on the ground. I know this one looks like it gives a bonus to the max items you can have on you, but you'd need to empty the stand before picking it up.)).

But still, if you understood it that way from the beginning, then forgive me.

thank you for the comment Durwyn. I didn't know there has already been a request in the past.
But nothing to say about items only accessible to the members of a certain guild?

I think the OP meant that even if there are no more players in the guild it still has its npc members and does not disappear.

That's exactly what I meant.
