Something similar would be extremely useful, especially because PS is growing rapidly, and unless one plays daily then it will be impossible to remember your way around.

I don\'t know about you guys but I have a busy life and I don\'t always find myself on to remember my way around....

I like the idea of just mining.  It would be nice to find a crystal or something rare once in a while.  I am not out to get rich in PS, I just want enough to get by without \"starving\".

I think this would be a great idea.  But just like you said it may be HD intensive, and require alot of coding.  But that or something like that would be a great idea

What about making pull down menus for the NPC dialogs?  I know that seems like an oversimlpified solution, however, everyone would know what the NPC understands. Either way I will be glad when the NPC dialog is fixed

Looks nice so far.  I just hope that I don\'t get dropped from the mailing list again.  it is nice to check up on things in the PS world even when I don\'t have time to check them out in person.

Well, I too have been around since MB.  But due to my work, and school and other commitments I simply do not have the time to commit myself fully to testing.  I do enjoy logging in from time to time, however I too have discovered that the NPC interface still, for lack of a better terms sucks.  I wish they had drop down text menus, or find someway for the NPC\'s to actually being able to under stand simple questions.  This of course would take an enourmous feat in programming, and take away from the devs developing the rest of the PS world.  I hope, and am sure they will work on the NPC issue mnore in the future.

You\'re only a newb for a few days, then after that you\'re a normal player. All newbs to new games have learning curves. What\'s the burden you\'re worried about exactly?

yeah, but for people like me who usually only have time to play between releases i.e. MB to CB things can change rather rapidly and make it seem like a new game all over again.  between interface changes and things I have forgotten PS seems both new and familiar at the same time.

That used to be one of the normal ways in before falls started to kill you.  It used to be nice to jump off the tower.  What  an easy way down.  not anymore though, now it is very deadly.

Your right,

I wish there was a way to \"auto ignore\" people who follow you around and ask you do want to duel?  I am not really into   dueling, perhaps I may be interested in the future but until then do not hound me for a duel request.  I will deny it everytime so don\'t waste your time or mine.  I am simply more interested in exploring.

Yeah I hope the wipe comes soon too.  I really don\'t want to work on developing a character that is going to \"get nuked\" and start over from the MB migration point.  I was also one of the crystal hunters, I would look for crystals for hours and hours until I could make a decent living at it.  It will be sad to lose my pick, shield, and weapons, but if it means true progress for the game, I say that I am willing to make a SMALL sacrifice to make the game better for everyone who plays.  I just hope that in the next overhaul, I will actually be able to make a living, and get equal loot for equal XP, that way I don\'t have to wait months to build up enough money to level.  I am very interested in developing my character and the game, I just hope that we get some kind of automated E-Mail letting us know the wipe is eminent within 24 hours or something like that.  I DONT get to log on much these days, HOWEVER, when I do get to log on next time I want to be able to see my character or at least know to \"Recreate him\"

Well said Lyrah,

The only things I miss about MB are 1. crystals, and 2. weather.   I can not wait until the game matures and I can hopefully find ways to make money and hopefully \"educate\" my character so that he can become more like I want him to be.  anyway, I digress.

Right now Planeshift really isn\'t much more that a Object Oriented Chat program.  ***Let me explain, before I get hacked to death by the moderators, and the DEVS.  Programming a project of this size can be imesenly complicated in a group environment, now take that same group and spread them all over the world and take away the paycheck.  Be grateful that you have programmers willing to make such a sacrifice to even attempt such a enourmous task as an online MMOPRG, and not even charging \"players\" to access it.  The team is doing a phenomenal job putting this together.  The points I am trying to make are 1. Good games take time, sometimes alot of time. and 2. The more we report bugs and assist the DEVS, the faster they can add new features (because they don\'t have to find the bugs themselves).

I know alot of people here complain about lack of community in this forum.  Well I always make it a point to at least say hello to people if they are not already engaged in conversation, or I am not busy myself.  Because I am working full time at taking ten credit hours this semester for my degree, I do not have time to log on very often at all, but once I finish my degree I hope to contribute to the project.  So if you do not see me on it is because I am trying to better myself in hopes that I may be able to contribute to a great project such as this...

Some things that I would like to see are.

1. either more diamonds, or cheaper weapons.  Some of us who have a life don\'t have the time to play PS 24/7.

2.  More intelligent NPCs.

3.  an Areana where players can \"battle\" each other to gain exp without losing their items.

4. More character races

5. Ranged weapons

6.  VOIP

My opininion on NPCs is that I don\'t mind if they stay as long as the Devs do some work on their interface.  Every time I try to talk to them they act retarded and tell me they don\'t understand simple english...

Stupid NPCs
