And after beta comes gamma.

This error appears because you don\'t have arts installed ;). Looks like Xordan compiled arts support into the package. I assume you are using the software sound driver, could you check with pssetup? If you have openal installed, try changing the setting to that. Or install arts or disable sound.

Edit: typo

Hope I\'m not putting my excessively large foot in my uncontrollable mouth but I have been M.I.A. for 5-6 months, but what did  happen to Karosh and his installer IIRC he was getting snowed under with 007

Lediel

Well, some things happened back then. My available time began to drop, I got fed up with some things and while being on  vacation from PS which was planned to be just 1-2 weeks I decided to take a longer one. Rest assured that I\'m back now, although I\'m not responsible for the installer anymore. But I will still continue to help as much as I can and want to :D

Then stand up and leave, but stop trolling around. And try to learn some grammar and stuff while gone. Wait, I have a better idea: just stay away :P

My comp also froze yesterday although the game window was still active and rendering the game. The music was also still played, but I didn\'t get any errors. Just when I spotted the Teffy in the sewers my Linux went *boom*.
Your errors indicate that your data/gui/interact.xml is damaged or empty, maybe even missing.

You are missing a bunch of art and data files. Did you run the updater? Also, what gfx card do you have? Looks like your driver doesn\'t support all features needed to run PS with hardware acceleration. Check if there is a newer version.

Did you run the updater before you launched the client? Without some more info I\'d say at least one model was not uptodate and caused Cal3D to freak out. I don\'t think Xordan would release a client with such a bug in the source ;)
Try to give some more lines of output (running the client with -verbose gives more info).

Your updaterconfig.xml should contain a section similiar to this
Code: [Select]

Also try the new installer: http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?boardid=41&threadid=19389&page=1#2

Your updater didn\'t download all files because it couldn\'t find some files on the server. Did you already try to rerun the updater?

Edit: alternatively you could try to download the whole zips by changing one line in updaterconfig.xml:
0
set the value from 0 to 1 and run the updater. That wouldn\'t help for the missing image files I guess, but just rerunning it could still be enough.

Did you run the updater yet? You are missing some files and the updater should get them. Since it looks like you compiled PS from CVS you should edit the active mirror is updaterconfig.xml first. Use the search to find it, I don\'t have the correct line in my head (still at work)

Did you try to update from 0.3.11? Or Did you run the updater after you compiled the cvs? If you mean with OS set the other_os stuff not found in the registry, that\'s have always been normal. But it looks like your updater tries to access a wrong repository. Check your used mirror in updaterconfig.xml, especially if you compiled from cvs.

I think each maintiner will have a different version of the CS/CEL sources, so you can\'t really ask for the version of the official binaries until you ask for a certain system. Just use the version of CS/CEL/Cal3D you have until it doesnt work correctly with PS anymore, then get newer versions. Or you update regulary like twice a month to get the newest fixes. If you get a version which is ahead of PS, just go back a day or two until it works with PS again.

There were netversion bumps in quick succesion so there is atmost a 20hour window of usable sources. That date should be the last possible that conencts to laanx at this point.

I noticed that last night when I built my client. But since I just wanted to recreate my char und look a bit around what changed since my last login, I didn\'t want to download and compile everything again and did some good old tweaking on the netversion :D. Not recommended for the unexperienced, so don\'t try this at home :P

Alternatively if you don\'t want to or if you are too lazy to get dialog, you could just copy the planeshift.tar.gz archive from the ./ps.cb.03.011.linux.x86-2 dir to your favorite location and unzip it with
tar xvzf planeshift.tar.gz
It will create a planeshift subfolder with all files.
