Fall damage... removed? Did I read correctly? Completely removed? :D

You\'ve just made me a very happy kitten...
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Just the message has been removed. Fall damage is still there.
You will have to be careful in PS now :-)

I\'ll have to be more careful with the phrasing of my posts, lest I be quoted verbatim by devs and WTB\'s!  When I mentioned the fall damage message, I only referenced it because it provided some extra information about the status of the character...not that I think the message itself is great.

It doesn\'t matter now, because the damage message has been removed.

How does the fall damage work, is it like -x(hp)/meter or -x(hp)/meter/meter ?

Uh, I would explain that better if it were earlier....

Fken, I think you will find that Waylander wanted to know the proper formulae used in working out appropriate fall damage, and that he is well aware that it is automatically activated, and that it shows it on the chat window. Though the message has been removed.

Since the rules themselfs are PS License I don\'t think I\'m allowed to post the exact forumla

But I think the CVS version has somewhat the same, ours is just a bit tweaked

Lag and other details
« Reply #68 on: October 01, 2004, 09:35:23 am »
Although i feel this quiestion has already been asked I dont remeber readin it in the posts,

Maybe instead of asking about lag and what not we make a form and we have perhaps testers an people tell us computer information such as RAM and what kind.

cause for me I have a 256MB of RAM on my computer and my game lags at certian things and will somtimes stop completly at some points althoughts it is not that bad it gets rather old.

Question=
Do you think I will lag less on the game because I love PS and I know its free but for me its technically not because I have to buy RAM to make it work better for me which is a good 60 bucks for a 256MB stick :( do you think i will lag the same in the new PS or will it lag less *crosses fingers*.

Im not directing anyone but maybe we can move this post around to a different place and put all computer capabilities under this post? something like this for CB although it may not help alot of us it could be useful to newbs and what not.

256Mb of ??? sd-ram/ on the verge of verry laggy.
1.79 GHz i put this here cause i need to know what RAM I should buy.

Fall damage is defined in secret (not at cvs) rule scripts on server, but it is obvious that the damage formula is nonlinear i.e. falling from 20m is worse that falling 2x from 10m.

I am afraid 512 MB (I have that) will be needed to have acceptable performance, although I know about testers that have 256. But memory usage has been greatly improved in the last few days so we will see.

Is just the height important (now) or does your weight or race have any impact on the outcome of the formula? If it\'s not NDAtic, oc.

...and i also remember a proposal that the material you land on would also be an importaint factor ...falling onto a cushion or onto a bush is a lot more pleasant then on pointy rocks

but i guess that\'s too much to hope for in CB

What i am actually wondering are we going to be able to setup are own shortcuts like in a configuration file?

I\'d like the ability to define what keys / mouse-buttons are used for different controls & also maybe the chat commands etc....

CB Characters: Zeph Waterfox & Zeraph Waterfox MB: Zph

Yes. You even have a shortcut window.
