Actually very few races are like eachother. First off, the Ylians are the all-around race we have in all games, and we can\'t have a game without that race. It\'s a must. The Xacha are bent more towards the scientific and magic aspects of the world than the Ylians, and management and act as a kind of \"noble\" version of the humans.
Then we have the elves. They actually don\'t have any similarities except the pointy ears. They both live in extremely diffrent places, eat diffrent food and practice diffrent magics. I can\'t find anything not unique there. The Nolthrir have the great advantage that they can breathe underwater, allowing them to go places where only Krans and they can go, and the people who have endless funds for underwater exploration. The Dermorians on the other hand are more of a ranger type, relying on their magic or weapon skills, or both, rather than a big fat armor.
The same goes for the two dwarf families. One has learnt to live in the mines where the other has always made stuff from the things that came from the mines. Two completely diffrent races, even though they\'re both small and fat. If anyone suggest to clash this into one race, or make more races out of them, I\'ll be the first to say that person is stupid.
Then we have the Lemurs and the Kran. Their literally only similarity is that they were both created by the gods, just not the same, and in a completely diffrent way. The Lemurs can be slightly compared to the Nolthrir, yet Nolthrir, as elves, have the slight advantage with swords and the major drawback in some magic ways, where Lemurs excel with magic but just plain stink with the sword. The Kran however is big and strong, but they lack potential in anything called magic, and they go melee-only, and tend to be good at it.
Next up, Enkidukai. Quite an unique race actually. Plenty of special feats which you don\'t find with any of the other races. They are the natural born martial artists as their paws are already equipped with weapons, meaning they have a great advantage if they should be caught off-guard, and they don\'t need to invest in big weapons like the rest of us, however it most likely wouldn\'t be out of the ordinary to find some Enki long-range attackers. They also rarely wear armors as that limits their movement capabilities, so they\'re more of a monk-type, depending fully on their faith in themselves and their skill in knocking out an opponent / evading enemy attacks.
The Klyros are slightly similar to the Enki\'s, however it\'s not their demand for speed that keeps them from wearing armors. It\'s their fragile bone structure. They simply can\'t wear heavy equipment. This is quite a drawback as that counts for both swords and armors, so their firepower is quite messed up, however combined with a bow, a Klyros makes an excellent scout and kill-at-a-distance creature.
A diaboli is a kind of counter-version to the Lemur/Dermorian. They rate themselves as one of the highest beings in Yliakum, and accept orders from noone. They simply came in search for new lands to rule, and not to be ruled. They excel in magic, mostly of the evil kind and most likely would do good with a bow as well.
The Ynnwn is probably the only creature which can mess with a Kran when it comes to strength and toughness. They have the weakness to blessed metals, yet their arsenal usually includes a few spells as well as a strong weapon. Something the Krans can\'t brag about.
So, as far as what I can see right now, PS has four magic-using races, one which is specialized more in the blue way (Nolthrir). They have 4 archer races, one which probably has more of an advantage than the other races in it (Klyros). Then they have 3 or 4 races which are well-suited for melee fighting, two of them which have the just right build for swinging a huge axe or sword (Kran & Ynnwn). So if you still think the PS settings department missed something concerning which races there are in the game, please do tell me and I\'ll be happy to let Darkmoon known.
