By the way people, the place I host these pics will remove them if no one views them for some time. Meaning that if modelers will want to look at these drwaings after the thread is not active for about a month and a half, they won\'t find any pic here...

Do you know of any place where I can put these pics without worrying they might disappear after some time?
(like a pics dedicated place on the planeshift servers?)

The Female Klyros Looks cool great!

I use http://photobucket.com/ to host my pictures, I think ArcaneFalcon uses http://system.freepgs.com/ which is probably what I\'ll be using soon but for now Photobucket works fine.. :D

I\'m saving this to my Hard Drive Now...

Zereph, for more femail Klyros, check out pics of the Zoras from the Legend of Zelda. They look remarkable similar to Klyros...

I would also like to try to model the grangalan. Does it have two wings like a fly, or four like a drogaonfly? it looks more dragonfly-ish to me.

four like a dragonfly.
Everything not especially defined about the grangalan is dragonfly-ish.

Ok, heres what i have done so far. I will try to texture it as well, but what do you all think about it? It has 1055 pollygons.

I sort of wanted to it, but hey that\'s excellent, you may be able to get a lower polycount by alpha mapping the claws on the legs...

Yeah, you should really alpha map all those little ridges too and the ridges on the tail can be put into the texture.  Polycount should be oh 400-500 or so I would think on a model like that.  Hopefully less.  Looks great though.

It\'s a lot better, but I think you could still save a _lot_ of polys by making the tail part with the ridges/valleys 1 flat piece.  You can put those ridges in the texture easily.  Also, make sure you have a double sided face (2 faces sharing all vertices) for the spikes on the arms/legs.  Much better though, keep up the great work!

:emerald:

Edit: You could save 216 tris by doing that, if I counted correctly.

actually it would save around 115. I left them in there \'cause i dont think textures could do it right without a bump-map (which I dont think CB will support. If im wrong, tell me.) also, i think i can cut around another 90 or so just with the leg joints. i left quite a few polys there as well. but i will make a texture tommorow to see if it will look good.

Let me take a crack @ texturing it after you are done! I\'ve figured out the \"Render to Texture\" fairly well now & can make a texture look pretty nice with a bump map, you can apply a bump map & then render it into a complete texture, however the bump map\'s shadows will not change in-game... I could also rig & animate it if you do not have the time to do it... It looks nice... I would say the polycount is low enough... If your not sure ask the devs on #Planeshift Irc.Freenode.net  :]

Edit: you can cut back on polycount by Alpha-Mapping the wings, btw you can also have separate textures for different elements like if the wings are detached from the body you can have a separate texture for both...
