In the first was UO.
Uo was very good, playable and let you make a lot of things.
Then UO became oldfashioned... 3d era begun...
those game was nice and with good graphic, but there was an awful missing...
The realistic text above the head of the speaker!

The simply dialog box is unrealistic, you can\'t dip yourself in the character!

Plz, could you make this option?
\'Course you don\'t need to delete the dialog box, there\'s also in uo...
Simply I really like to see in the option \"Activate text above the heads\"!

Also played UO, a great game.
I like many aspects of UO, including that text.

Text should appair in the text box AND above their heads in my opinion. This way you can always read previous messages in the text box. When a messages appairs above his head you can see who said something immediately, its just more clear. However you should be able to turn the text above the heads on/off.

Only one problem with the whole text over head thing, when the economy picks up will we have to deal with ELITE MAGIC SWORD 500k /tell me 1 for sale! over every second persons head. Whole areas full of characters gone afk but selling stuff?

This happens so much that it lags everyone in the city, especially KAonline and SWG. Most of them are scammers anyways, but hopefully PS will imply a good trading system and market place.

Ya its sad but true.  I hope PS doesnt become one of those games where people scam eachother. It really pisses me off to see it done to people.  Just leave it to text boxes

Of course we\'d need a good system that would wipe out the exceeding text!

I don\'t think it\'s so bad if you\'re able to set on/off it!

I too would like this, as I stated before in the numerous threads requesting this feature. The option to turn it on/off would be useful. And I don\'t think having text appear above people\'s heads will increase the spoonscape system of buying and selling.

no.. PS will get cheaters since the source is open to look at for everybody.


I think it\'s a good idea, but:

1.) you must be able to tuenr it off
2.) there must be a good trading system so it\'s not nassacary to do that \"SELLING ELITE SOWRD 500K\" thing.




Lineage 2 had a very good trading system.
You was able to setup a private BUY and Private SELL shop. You just tell what items you can to sell or buy, and for what price. Than you will just sit there on the ground with a message above you\'re head. The message is rather small, and\'you\'ll able to say something like \"Toad\'s Shop\" or something. This message will be green so everybody knows its a shop and not someone telling someone. Ofcourse also the words \"Private sell\" or \"buy\" will appair.

I\'d like to see this in PS too so its easey to sell your stuff. I mean not everybody has money to set up a real shop.

I also like that auction thingy, specialy if that could be web/game-based. so you can either check the item auciotn in the game or just on the website to big or check if someone did some bids on your items.

I think we just need some people armed with a Great Bat of Clueness +3. and whenever people start shouting about their elite sword or doing anything else annoying, they get smacked down hard.

I mean I\'d like to see merchants like this publicy executed in the game, with as affect the destruction of his account. Everybody laughing at him and he will lose his account were he spend hours on :P

When you have 200 people in one small area, all talking it\'s annoyinger to see the textbox flooded with messages so you can\'t read anything...

Thats like a same as a IRC channel with 100 \'active\' people online, you won\'t be able to read any message!



Hey.. and what if you also see it above their heads, but you can config from how far you will see it?
I mean when you say 2 meters, you only see the text above people\'s heads that are within 2 meters.

I think that would be good..

Seeing as Great Bats of Clueness + 3, 4, 5, and 6 would be hard to implement it might be better to be able to turn off the text above heads features.  A \"hearing range\" function like toadhead mention would be cool too.

The text above heads would be very useful, but I agree, not in a crowded area, like a market place. I used to play RuneScape, and it was extremely noticeable there, like 100 people crowded in a few meters area, all trying to sell stuff.

To get around this, I think it would be best if something was implemented to stop everybody yelling at once. To keep the real life astmophere, lets consider for a second an actual market place. If someone is yelling out for everybody to hear what they\'re trying to sell, they\'re usually using a microphone. Otherwise, people can just see what they\'re selling when they walk by.

So, I think in a crowded market place/trading area, there could be a podium of sorts where people can shout their wares, and it will be broadcasted to a larger area then when someone is not on the podium.

Also, where people are in a market place (area surrounded by actual shops, banks, smitherys etc) can only sell if they\'re on the podium, as this would be the most crowded, as its convenient to sell items there.

Just some thoughts running through my head, feel free to shoot them down :)

The game-that-i-will-say-the-name is Ragnarok, so it mess up with thousands of balloons of text selling things, but in a 3D game it may not happen, because the guy across the corn u might not \"listen\" waht he\'s saying, and the other guy across the horizon may no be heardable (this word exist?). And we can make some funny thing with that, think, a character with a audible status to hear throught walls will see the text, but a not skilled person will just se the wall :P

And charact that hear so far than otter will read more text than ur partner with normal ears ;P looks pratical !!
