Why would they, really?

The migration page clearly states:
Quote
From the migration page
If you enter in a bogus email then your name will not be reserved and your char will be lost!

This should serve as a warning and a reminder to double-check the email you entered.
Implementing a check like the proposed one would have been a waste of effort, especially considering the very limited time that the migration script will be used.

I learned never to let a oppertunity to check input data go to waste.
If you\'re putting something into a database you should always check you are getting what you expect to get.

And btw. you can find scripts like that ready for copy-pasting almost everywhere on the web.

If you\'re putting something into a database you should always check you are getting what you expect to get.

Only if the contents of the DB actually are of any interest to you. In this case, as a dev, I couldn\'t care less whether ppl. shred their chars by not checking what they enter. It can be seen as sanity check: a user who doesn\'t bother to input correct data will obviously not have read the warning, which means that these will be the exact kind of user that nobody wants anyway (you know, the \"what\'s linkdead\" kind ;) ). If users don\'t think for themselves and always expect \"mommy admin\" to sort out the mess they create, out of sheer ignorance, then they have no place on PS. Sorry to be so blunt, but I\'d have left out any such checks deliberately.

The content of this DB is actually of very much intrest to them, cause it\'s the DB CB is going to run off!!

Now we don\'t want that cluttering up so soon do we?

(ps. I hadn\'t noticed that warning myself  )
And, by the way, even Devs can make typing errors

*Winks an eye at the \"redo migration please\" happenings

Nope, this is a separate DB, as I was told. It will be queried upon creation of a CB account, but it will not interact with CB in any way. Furthermore, I expect that this database (the \"reserve list\" ) will be removed about two weeks after CB has been launched, since everyone will have had an opportunity to complete the migration by then. Therefore, even if this DB will be cluttered up as the MB one is, it wouldn\'t matter for CB. :)

Not really
The migration entities are stored in a table made for migrations, which we will clear when a certain time has passed
