Correct, pssetup is absent.  If you feel wizardly, you can edit the .cfg files using a text editor, but don\'t blame me if things get all weird - make backups first!

Not sure why you\'re having updater problems.  I will try to determine the cause of this over the next couple days.

Thanks for your feedback!

Game is laggy as hell! Server ping is about 450 all the time! Faster server would be nicer...

So far so good, a little buggy in places, such as trying to leave the sewers from any exit results in being stuck in a wall, or between floors. The truly odd thing with that is the strange render that occurs: There\'s a blue un-textured area with reverse and upside down letters in it. I\'ll take a screen shot and post it here next time it happens. It looks like something from StrongBad\'s virus email.

I also get the linkdead thing from time to time, and each time I actually politely quit, I get the \"unexpectedly quit\" OS X error. No biggie, I\'m sure it will be fixed in time.

In the meantime, thanks very much for getting this over to the Mac OS. I\'m sure as word gets out, more people will join.

Oh, and the above fixes did work at getting it to launch for me. I\'m on 10.3.7, using the current top of the line Powerbook G4 15.\"

I too get the unexpectedly quit pop up, also my updater doesnt seem to do much... ah well, at least things are looking up.

meant to add to my previous post regarding framerates, (dunno if this will make any difference Daniel - I know your mac aint exactly top end either) but im only running a G4 ibook; 1ghz, 512mb, radeon 9500 @ 32mb, adsl 256kb...

Edit: Just flicked through the forums and noticed this
http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=13241&boardid=33&styleid=3&sid=fe8014111bb76489a067ed4d8c187f30
which reminded me, I have this problem too - anyone else got this issue?

/me suggests a mac specific forum is created?

Also is there any way to turn up the brightness without altering the gamma settings? I cant see a damn thing in some parts of the game, and my brightness is up full, as is contrast!

To open the .app, control click on it an select \"show package contents\". Keep that window open. Then, open up safari and type into the address bar \"/usr\".

Then, holding down the option or alt key, drag the correct file from the resources folder into the correct directory in /usr.

*edit* What a waste of my post. :D

I\'ve got a problem with the files. I download it all fine, but when i try to make a new lib file, copy the libcal3d.... file, or anything else to the /usr folder, it says that /usr cannot be modified. I have administrative access. I don\'t know why I can\'t modify it.

Please help!

Thanks.

Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal

Type \'cd /usr/local\' hit return, then \'sudo mkdir lib\' - only without the quote marks.

Enter your password.

That will make the folder for you. Then in the Finder use the Go > Go to Folder command, enter /usr/local - you can then select the lib folder, go to File > Get Info and using the dropdown menu under Ownership and Permissions in the info window change the owner to your name. Move the libcal3d.10.dylib file to the lib folder, then change the owner back to System.

Of course you could do the whole thing in Terminal, but I find a lot of Mac users are a bit hesitant when it comes to using it, and there are other ways to get around using it in OS X.

Greetings and congratulations on a fantastic realm.  Following the advice given in this Forum I finaly managed to log on and create a character. As I have an older iBook I tend to be running slower than Id like and I certainly do hope that a SET UP file is added to the MAC Version. I have no idea where to begin in changing the files mentioned earlier to change my grafics settings nas I have no programing skills of note.   The only other oddity Id like to mention is that the  PLANESHIFT CRYSTAL BLUE(0.3.004) Logo has remained on my screen since I first entered the game and remains even when I quit the application totaly. I guess it will remain until I reboot.   Keep up the good work  tchau

Would this be a good idea?

Above someone mentioned a Mac specific forum, and when there are enough Mac users out there, perhaps that could be done. In the meantime, maybe we should all be posting (as others have done) our specs here in order to let us all know what to expect.

I\'m on a 15\" Aluminum G4 Powerbook at 1.5 Ghz, with one Gig of RAM. This unit has the Radeon Mobility 9700 with 128 VRAM. I\'m running 10.3.7, all updates.

My Framerates range from 7 fps to 70+, and it seems kind of random where and when I get those drops. Usually in the square I usually seem to get around 24fps, even with all the other people running around. If I leave the city and go running around in the country, with no one nearby, the framerates drop significantly. The high framerates of course happen when standing still in the sewers.

Also, fyi, the text of the crash report that happens when I try to nicely quit the game seems to indicate OpenGL issues. Is there someone who would like to receive those for troubleshooting some time down the line?

Still, love the game so far, and am very happy to be playing it at all.

I tried to download planeshift, but when it gets to 145 MB out of 271 MB, it just stops. Tried to dl it 4x. Any reason why or help would be appreciated.

eMac G4, 1.0 Ghz, nothing else probably matters because it\'s not during game play...
