SantaGoneWrong - One thing to check would be any messages in the \"Console\" application under /Applications/Utilities/Console when you try and run Planeshift- that might tell us why it quits immediately.

You might just have a really old version of PS, or something is corrupted, or permissions are set wrong.

Hello there,

I have the same problem with the updater quitting unexpectedly. Here you have the console text. I can also post the OS X crash report if that is of any help. Allthough it is rather long.

Console text:

I hope it is of any help. My configuration is: Powerbook G4 1.5 GHz, 512 RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 64 MB VRAM,  DSL connection

What command line in the terminal could I use to start the psclient?

(I played this game a while ago, I just downloaded the client again and it says if it does not start up, which it does not, I should try opening it through a command line)

I did update by the way.

I believe there are actually OLD binaries in the repository and that the client would have worked correctly had you NOT updated. That aside, even if you do get the client running, you won\'t be able to connect to the server as dfryer is still working on the latest update. In summary, be patient and watch the forums for more news.

Edit: Just noticed a few things,

* when you try to run the updater not a lot happens, it checks the file and seems to be downloading the registry xml, but then nothing else happens.

* when cb starts up it says its 3.0.0.4 - when it says 3.0.0.5 on the downloads page.... weird

First of all, you double-posted. Second of all, your first post was sort of pointless (and the reason you don\'t have music is that it\'s a BUG which we all know about). Third of all, that last post belongs in another forum. *points to Newbie Help.

Read the threads on this forum. Please. Thank you.

I never thought this would happen, but the Mac OS X forums have been hit by a huge newbie infestation. That\'s 3-5 in the last 2-3 days... We must do something!
