besides, i myself was on briefly for 20 seconds befoe i turned crashed, loaded up and was somewhere else... not exactly stable at the moment so we have other priorities

Here\'s a thought:

Why not have a list of RPers?

Simply one to show that someone won\'t be wasting their time if they stop and acknowledge someone?

Why not an Organization of RPers then?

Also a good idea.

So long as its not a guild, for both avoiding competing with proper guilds, and since RP \'grows\' leaders, rather than electing them.

but who decides who is roleplayer... a lot  of rat-flail people would think they are excellent roleplayers
who will make a list....

while it\'s a nice sounding idea.... it\'s not a workable idea.... it will astrange a lot of new people....who might be good roleplayers

Never said it was about \"Good\" RPers.

Anyone who\'s at least willing to try can be encouraged towards refinement.

With a list, however, one can seek.

It saddens my heart to see the Tavern without a bar keep.  The loyal patrons have been reduced to mere barflys, if they are still around at all.  But I suppose that all things have a purpose.

Draklar, I would have to agree with you on the descriptions of player groups. Yes, I find it absolutely irritating when players make reference to objects, creatures and other stuff belonging to other campaigne settings within PS. They simply idiotic morons who have not the intelligence to figure out that they in PS and not another campaigne setting.

The only point I would have to disagree with you if the option not to role play anymore to strangers. All you are doing is to encourage more idiotic role playing.

With very little documentation on the current world, new role players need to find out the ethics, history, culture, etc from existing role players.

I currently not role playing much, more observing role players like yourself in action, to get a feeling of the role playing atmosphere that is wished for PS. I have slowly started to role play the Klyros on Saturday, making notes from role players on what is expected of how a Klyros should behave.

Oh, it is indeed an interesting time for the klyros, especially since they have the least information on how to behave of any group, since they\'re not directly out of anything else, like most of the other races, and have no real world analogs.

All we know is that they have a strong sense of brotherhood, they have the will to outright ignore a deity demanding worship, fully displaying its power, while being slaughtered, as a -race-.  They appearantly created or had created for them a portal from another world.  And they really really really like crab.

They\'re also the newest race in Planeshift historically, as well as in regards to character models, so they\'re the least integrated.  Their physical differences no doubt enhance this.

As such, I\'ve focused on making my klyros a staunch anti-deist, who is unimpressed by \'leader\' types of any stature, considers displays of power to be tacky and boorish, considers knowledge to be the most wonderful thing in the world along with a good pipe (which he became fascinated with wholly because of its association with fire, the one element the klyros aren\'t strongly adapted for), and acts as a sage, selling that information, while keeping the best for the sake of serving his people.

They\'re fun (and interesting) little buggers.

Of course, there\'s always the occassional verbal berration of over-small doorways...

Which is even more fun.

Crabs, definitely need to add that to my fish talk!

They interesting for sure from their short description, and ideal for an exploring type character in terms of physical abilities, which I tend to enjoy playing that of an adventurer/explorer.

Hmmm... those pesky doorways and stairs, where the taller Karn have no issues with. I sure they are magical anti-Klyros doors, just to give us Klyros a hard time.

Well I still roleplay a bit... here you can see me teaching a newcomer the word \"thou\"
I feel so proud of him :]

It\'s just that I\'d rather stay away from this chaos for a bit.

I like the idea of keeping a list somewhere of people who are rpers.  I started a thread on the vampire threat a while ago, which got closed by a vampire moderator, to noones suprise.  (Free speech is limited on these forums).

Anyway, I suggest we treat the in game vampires as lunatics.  I simply love to ridicule people, and ridiculing vampires is tons of fun for me.  Perhaps we can have an in-game citizens group who are worried about the lunatics and we can band together.  It\'s not a guild per se, but an action committee.

If you come across another one of these freaks, it would delight me to be notified.  Since I consider myself a sort of town fool, it\'s only natural that the people of the town want to laugh at me laughing at the vamps!  Who else?

Well played darklar......
that\'s how you are supposed to treat a non-roleplayer
on the other hand i understand your frustration as conversations like this happen more often then a regular rp conversation.
save this log
it\'s good illustration of how an rp-er should act

hmm, rather interesting conversation... must say I laughed at the last part really amusing, I think that is a perfect example on how to handle those non-rp ;)

and about the vampires... not sure about you others... but I think that I will stay neutral about them, well no need to make a bigger problem about it than necessesary :P
