hhhhmmm you all seem to be basing this on what you consider is rp  and what is not rp.   Well there are no  set \'rules\' on rp and it is how the individual player wants to play it.

So if Phinehas and others think that it is not true rp and won\'t be taken seriously by the rp community remember that this is only  their opinion and not necessarily the opinion of others.

Constructive criticism is healthy and I will act on constructive criticism but constantly complaining just because you always have is not healthy and therefore is more likely to be ignored.  I will not be bound by imaginary  rules and regulations which do not exist, I am a \'free bird\' so therefore will continue to Edit and write The PS Times in the way it has been written.  I\'ll put it another way, If you don\'t like it don\'t read it - if you do like it then read it, really  it is as simple as that.

What some of you seem to forget is the time and effort that goes into writing this, so instead of constantly moaning write something for The PS Times and help me out.  Thank you.

The only one truly \"moaning\" is Phineas, and even he started out by giving you constructive criticism, to which you basically replied: \"I have time to write it, but not time enough to take suggestions.\"  All that you have been receiving thus far has been constructive criticism, actually.  As an editor, you should expect to have some people like your work and some dislike your work, but that does not mean that you should berate them for having an opinion different from your own.

I stated what I liked about your work, as well as what I feel needs improvement.  These are my opinions, yes, but that does not mean you can casually say \"Well, you all are wrong and it\'s my website so I can do what I want.  I\'m sure plenty of people would agree with me!\"  If you actually want people to give you input, such an attitude will surely impede your reader-base.

If you really want people to read your newspaper, perhaps you should work on your interpersonal skills instead of editing abilities...refusing to listen to anyone other than \"yes\"-men is not how an endeavor as large as a virtual newspaper is accomplished.  Well, it certainly can be accomplished, but it probably won\'t be as good a true community-wide effort.

When I am in game, I always refer to my real life as my dream life.  Perhaps the PS Times can come up with its own euphamism (or use mine) and place OOC things in a different section.  How to run the elections from a technical point is an OOC matter, who gets elected and such like is an IC thing.  The PS Times is a natural place to discuss these things. Just like the \"Calendar\" section, there could be a \"Metaphysics\" section that runs OOC.

I feel the Times is a great addition to the game, and has contributed to the overall culture.  I find it valuable for enhancing the Yliakum culture.  The idea of a Table of Contents is excellent, and would make the whole thing yet stronger.  Keep up the good work, Adyna and staff.

EDIT: As far as helping out.  I don\'t know which html editor you use, but I could probably send you a template with headers and footers to make the TOC more viable, if you\'re not comfortable doing it.

I totally agree with everything Indy said :)
I read the this latest issue and also reacted on the difference between the different articles. Some, like the Festival of the Hunt article, are completely IC while others are obviously very OOC.

I mean, \"This is what Yliakis used to look like\" might be funny for people who haven\'t seen the old models, or for those that remember them well, but it\'s quite difficult to explain the changes with good RP...

I agree with Seytra that it can be fun to see OOC stuff from the perspective of our IC chars, but then it needs to be well worked out, which I honestly do not believe it was in this last issue.

Other than that, I think you did a great job and had some interesting artciles so keep it up. :)

The only thing I have to say, Adyna, is that, if many people here express similar opinions(which they have), perhaps it would be intelligent to take them into consideration, after all, pleasing people is how you get readers.

P.S. I said \"similar\" not \"identical\".

First off I\'d like to say I really enjoyed reading the latest issue of PS times.  It is origional, and creative.  The idea of a PS newspaper is a wonderful one.

I have a few questions/comments.  The first really is where is the PS Times printed?  I.E. is it \"ingame\" at an \"ingame printing press\"? I know there isn\'t really an ingame press, but is the idea that the PS times is distributed in Hydlaa?  Or is it for people who play to read while in the real world.  If it is the latter, I think you can get away with the combination of IC and OOC articles, because when you\'re not ingame or on the forums, both are applicable and people can tke what they want out of it.  If the idea is that its distributed ingame then it doesn\'t make sense to have OOC references.  If I was at the Tavern bragging about the hot new Kia Sephia car I just bought that would make no sense, as Kia Sephias do not exist ingame. I do, however, like putting and IC spin on real life issues such as \"The Wipe\" (UTM\'s suggestion of \"The Cleansing\" was brilliant (hindsite is always 20/20 though).  )  :)

There isn\'t anything wrong with suggestions or critism.  But being defensive won\'t help much either.  Take it all in stride, see what the suggestions are, decide if you think they are good, and then choose whether or not you think they should be made.  There is nothing wrong with changing things pertaining to the paper.  It should evolve.

Also, the indexing would be a great idea.  I\'d offer help with that but help has already been offered. :)

All in all I love the initiative, and I found it quite interesting reading.  It adds a sense of realism to the game in that I read it for things I didn\'t know were happening.  Same reason I read news in real life.

Great work, keep it up, and keep at it.  PS needs dedicated persons such as yourself.

P.S. I did mean to mention that I didn\'t think Phinehas\'s intent was to insult, nor did he seem to me to come across that way.  I think the way he words things seems harsh at times, but its just blunt honesty.  There isn\'t anything wrong with that. :D
