The Planeshift book of Zebazar

Sunday July 10th 2005
As often I start my day with going to te sewers to hunt some Rat, Gobble and Tefusang. Today there where few people and I could hunt Tefusang near the sewers entrance without any difficulty.

There are som creatures appearing that I can\'t kill. Are they ghosts of the creatures I killed? It scares me. Maybe I have to stop hunting for a while and pick up healing again.

After a while, there are more people entering the sewers. Like Oberin Zonece. A strange guy who didn\'t say to much. Actually he didn\'t say anything at all.

Cisala Pogey, a beautiful female Diaboli, came by. She was very kind and friendly. I wonder if this is common under Diaboli. She wanted to buy an axe and she definitely could use some fighting training, because
she wasn\'t able to fight the Tefusang. I suggested to form a group, fight the Tefusang and share the loot, so she could buy some training or an axe. I managed to trade my gloves for a potion of healing with Cisala. I really wanted the position. Hopefully I can use it as a cure to help my friend.

After a while more and more people where entering the sewers. All wanted to kill some Tefusang. Cisala wanted to fight a stronger creature with me. She leaded the way into the Laanx Temple. She jumped into the well to get to the Dungeons. I hassetated and didn\'t jump. Jumping into the well can kill you if you don\'t watch out. I didn\'t  want to die for now. Not while I have a friend that needs my help. He is very ill and I have to find a cure for him. I know I have many lives and it is easy to get back from the afterlife, but I didn\'t want to face the dungeons right now. Maybe later when I\'m ready for it.

I went back to the sewers to find my friend Gorbiak. I really have to make a map of that place because I ended up at the fanatic?s hideout. Strange people who completely lost their minds. Like they are brainwashed. I wonder who did this to them. Some of them are really suffering and where begging me to kill them.

Finally I found my way to Gorbiak. I tried to give him the potion of healing, but he clearly needed something else. Irritated he threw the potion in the water. I tried to grab it but couldn\'t reach it. Hopefully somebody can grab it and find a better use for it.

There must be some other potion to cure my friend. I took a long walk to the magician?s house but he wasn?t able to help me either. He really had to get out the house more often, because he never heard of Gobbles. He said, he just helped a Ulbernaut recovering from is wounds. The scary looking creature was standing in front of his house. It tried to attack me while leaving the building. Frustated I began to mine some gold, in order to get me some crystals for creating my own healing potions and spells.

Today I took a tour to the sewers again. Cisala Pogey was there again. She had grown since the last time I saw here. She looked as beautiful as ever. She definitely trained swords a lot, because she killed Tefusang as never before.  She became a member of the guild Radiant Fate. She invited me but I rejected. There is something strange going on with this guild. I?ve been invited to join by a number of persons the last few days.  When I ask what this guild is about they al keep their mouths shut. Is this a kind of sect, trying to recruit as many members as possible?  Do al members end up like those fanatics down in the sewers?

Finally I came across guild-member Bubla Boggins who could give me some answers. The reason they try to recruit so many people is that for every new member the recruiter gets 10 trias. The guild has a lot of members right now. This could be a danger for the stability in this region. I only hope the Gods watch over me. The prophecies say that the Gods are going to wipe all the inhabitants of Yliakum in the near future. The only inhabitants that may return from the death are those who where living a good life. Is this rapidly expanding guild going to be the trigger? Am I living my life good enough for the Gods to let me return to Yliakum? And if I come back, what would I look like? What race shall I become? Tonight I will meditate and try to get some answers.

Female Diabolis exist, they just use the female Ynnwn mesh until they get their own.

This is entertaining, keep it up.

I?m still worried about Gorbiak. I have to find a cure for his disease. He is very stubborn, not wanting to take any kind of healing potion. My knowledge about his language is very limited and that makes it almost impossible to communicate with him. I went to the magicians shop today to buy glyphs. But by Laanx, this magical stuff is expensive business! I only could afford one glyph. This is going to take a lot of time. I hope there is enough time left for Gorbiak.

I took a detour to Ojevada so that I could collect some mushrooms. I always give them to the cook at the tavern as a kind of thanks for letting me stay at there until I can buy my own house. Gentleman as he is, he always gives me some trias for it.
I decided to wander around some more while getting more energy and ease of mind while walking through this beautiful landscape.

Then I saw something strange. It was? it was?  like I was standing at the end of the world. I could not walk further. There was some kind of wall in front of me. So maybe the theory of the Xacha scientist is right. We are all living in some kind of stalactite. Puzzled about all this I went home.

On my way I noticed that I hadn?t been stopped yet by any Radiant Fate guild members. Actually, there where very few of them around today. Had the guild grown too big and therefore started to malfunction? Did they ran out of money? I decided to take a look in the sewers because it was there I saw them the most, but also here there where no Radiant Fate guild members.

The gods are beginning to play tricks on me. Am I finally being punished for killing the Tefusang in the sewers? At one moment the gods refused to take the dead Tefusang-corpses away. A pile of dead Tefusang was forming.  At the end they also refused to send some Tefusang back from the afterlife. This could be their way of telling me, that I must lay down my axes and focus more on magic and healing. I will give this some thought tonight.

Something strange has happened. It felt like I had been sleeping for ages. I asked the cook at the tavern what day it was. Thursday already?!?! I slept all Wednesday? ?Yes?, he said.
I was confused. I wasn?t that tired. Some of the other tavern visitors had the same experience. What are the Gods up to now?

It seems like my life is getting a fast pattern now. First concern is to get trias so I can buy glyphs and maybe try to help Gorbiak with some magic healing. This process is going very slow. First off all, doing magic is expensive, but in the long run I think magic is the way for me. Especialy now the Gods give me clear signs to stop the hunting and killing.
Today it happened again. They refused to send back more Tefusang to the sewers. A bit irritated I went to the magic shop to buy a glyph.

There was a Rogue named Brigand standing alongside the road. He said he was the Dark-clad leader of the Bandits and that I better not speek too much with him or I will regret it. I think his mouth is bigger then his brains. I haven?t seen any other Bandits around, so I guess he is somekind of Rogue Fanatic who started his own clan. I felt sorry for him and went on.

After buying a Glyph and some training I went to Ojevada. I took the same route as I always do. First trying to dig some iron ore in the mountains and pick up some mushrooms along the way. I did not want to get lost again and therefore I climbed a hill to try to find a better way to the entrance of Ojevada. These pillars rising up high in to the sky are really something. Some are short, some are wide and there is even one that goes so high up into the sky that you don?t even see the top of it. Maybe this pillar is the centre of the stalactite we seem to be living in.

Quickly I found my way to Ojevada. I ran in to Yensens. A nice guy, that invited me to kill some Rogue with him. The loot on these Rogues is scares and I didn?t manage to get any, but it was good training.

It was getting late and I was getting tired. I think I will stay in Ojevada tonight and travel home to the tavern tomorrow.

The plan to return to the tavern today had to be cancelled. Ojevada had Rats all over the place. There where so many that I was able to make more trias in a shorter time than with killing Tefusang in the sewers. After killing Rats I sold the loot and found myself a nice tent to spend the night in.

Saturday July 16th

Today I realy had to go home to the tavern. If I?m gone for a long time the cook is going to give my room to someone else. I managed to collect an extra bunch of mushrooms for him. The creatures living near these mushroom fields became very angry. Probably these mushrooms are part of their diet. They began to attack me. A whole group of Tefusang, Rogue and Consumer ran after me.

Luckily in all the chaos I ran into Haegru Holp. He was able to help me get rid of them. I wanted to thank him for saving my life, but he was already gone.

It seems Brigand had not such a big mouth after all. There is really a clan of Bandits out there in the hills and woods. I must be careful with them.

I went to the sewers to kill some Tefusang with Katen Sycolian, who was so kind to share the loot with me. He said he was French, and that my name meant something strange in the French language. I never heard of a race called French, he clearly looked like a male Demorian to me.  Everything seemed to be back to normal again. I paid a quick visit to Gorbian just to see how he was doing. He was still very ill and fighting for his life. I hope I can help him soon.

Finally after lots of training I?m able to use magic! I threw my first fireball. Okay it wasn?t a perfect fireball, but at least I know that I?m able to use magic and hopefully I can use magic to cure my friend Gorbian. The feeling of power one gets using magic was overwhelming for me. I must be careful not to use it for dark and sinister kind of purposes.

Killing Tefusang left me with a lot of trias to spend on training. I decided to go and look for more people who could train me. After a while I came across the man, Aldaaren Phostle, whom I heard of telling, prophesies about the gods wiping all the races from Yliakum, only letting return the people who lived a good live. Now he was shouting to a whole crowd that the end was near and that armies of death would come through the bronze door and lay waste to all life in Yliakum. We can only wait I think.

I made friends with Jerous Dovad today a newcomer in Yliakum. He had lots of questions. Especially about how to get more skills as fast as possible. I think he will do all right in Yliakum and I hope to see him again soon.

Today, I went to the magic shop again to buy some glyphs, the shopkeeper told me that if I buy one more I would have all the glyphs available. I bought a glyph from the Dark Way. The spell that I can throw with this glyph is very spooky. It damages the enemy from the inside out. I was able to try it on a Tefusang while being helped by Norous. It didn?t work right away. I had to stand close to the Tefusang before casting the spell. This is kind of dangerous because I?m not able to fight during spell casting and thus I?m vulnerable to attack.

After killing the Tefusang I went on to Ojevada. The ground I?m walking on feels dry. As if it hasn?t rained in quite a while. And actually I really can?t remember when it last rained. I?ve read stories about long dry periods followed by massive rain and even flooding. Could this be the way the Gods will wipe us out?

For the first time I saw a Rat outside the city in the open field. Feeling sorry for the fellow I killed him and looted his skin and eye. Maybe it was searching for food among the mushroom fields.

In Ojevada I met Yensens again. He was fighting Rogue with Noxide. I thought I would try to help them by using some magic on the Rogue. But this made it impossible for them to kill him. I need to do some more studying on magic before I get in these things. Noxide invited me in the group and finally I was able to get some loot. A nice broad sword. I went back to Hydlaa and the tavern. I practiced more magic on the Tefusang in the sewer and was able to help a new friend named Oskar Strakheln to get some Tefusang teeth.

I went on an investigation in the sewers today. There where rumours about Fanatics getting out of their hide-out and wandering around in the sewers, making people go crazy. I didn?t have to look around long to spot an outrages fanatic. ?Ah, the new sacrifice is here, friends. Let?s welcome the poor Dermorian?, he said to himself. I tried to talk to him, but he was only threatening to kill me if I wouldn?t do as he said. The Fanatics are really getting bolder every time I meet them. I decided to get some of them out of their misery by plunging my axes into them. Poor souls.

I regrouped with to old friends to kill the Tefusang in the sewers. And with a load of teeth I went home satisfied.

I did it! I killed my first Grendol today in the arena. It was a fight of almost 15 minutes, using magic and my axes. First I threw the weakness spell at him, making him sick. After that I threw some fireballs at him. I was surprised that they did so much damage to him. He was running around in the room screaming of pain. It was sometimes hard to follow him. He went totally crazy. Now and then we fighted face to face, me using my axes and he his powerful hands. One blow from one of those hands came directly on my head and almost got my lights thrown out. After 15 minutes he gave up and he went down. His skin still smoking from the fireballs. I was disappointed that he didn?t carry any loot with him. Fifteen minutes of fighting and no reward. That?s life in Yliakum I guess.

I woke today with the idea that my life is meaningless. Everyday I earn my money by killing Tefusang and other creatures, only to buy more training and magic. And with this training an magic I kill yet another Tefusang or other creature to? well? buy more training and magic. And with this training and magic? I should shut up now.

I found an empty and abandoned house in Ojeva that I now use to stay in when I don?t have the time to get back to the tavern. I could make some money by letting other people rent it.
I met Croh Reznic today near the tavern. He had just arrived here and I asked him if he needed a place to stay. He looked strangely at me and finally rejected my offer. I have to try asking some more people. It is worth the try I guess.

I went to the arena trying to fight another creature I haven?t killed yet. This time it was a Trepor. I was surprised how easy it was to kill it, with only some magic and my axes. Sadly also this creature had not any reward in the form of loot. It looks like only Rat and Tefusang have some loot.

Tonight I will stay at the tavern again thinking about better ways to make a living.
