Sorry about that misunderstanding Karyuu, \"I actually need to have a history instead of stats,\" comment has always been brought in good terms. The peeps I have introduced to like that aspect of it. These are guys who do like to RP, as well to work in a team they understand that you need each key member.
DND standard
1.Fighter type
2. Magic User
3. Rogue
4. Healer
They all bring their cards to the table and are needed for various jobs.
I love this game. I love the RP aspect of it. I will in future versions of the game have one Power Gamer character.
In the Character Development section you have many senarios where you become distrustful of others. With players who have taken those qualities they should not trust many if anyone else (I understand that may be extreme, but it could happen until someone opens them up). These are those who will want to get stong, they can and I just know that there are many who have voiced their concern over \"not enough rats\" while I am in the sewer... I just smirk here at home as I have explored enough to find other places with them. I try to lead them and the ones who find the rats are glad that there are more.
After looking into the game more (ie exploring the valley of the stonehead) I know that there are many places where we could put the monsters... I like the head valley place best. A suggestion is to find a bare valley and infest it with rats. Change it up every few days or so, this way the \"Rat Slayers\" will need to find they-- ie explore more of the map. When they do find them they will do one of two things, show others or hog all 5-10 rats... 10 may be a little much now, but it could be the prize for the first 5-10 member who find the valley. After that many have come through cut it back to 3-5... just a suggestion to help people explore.
Thank you all for putting up with this, I simply want to help the community grow large.
Pros-
1. Exploration
2. Happier players that are new
3. Groups will start forming to \"Rat Hunt!\"
4. These groups will eventually turn into online friend that will stick it through anything togeather.
5. A new guild of exterminators may wish to form.
6. All those hides will eventually be used for tanning purposes.
7. If groups go find the rats they will stand a better chance against the bigger threats if grouped up.
8. Advanced fighters can tell, \"I remember when...\" stories to the new wave of chars that are feasting in the plague.
9. If a rat population is not found in time (ie 24 hours) a plague starts and the rat population could increace by 5 fold until each rat is killed 50 times (ie 10*10=100*50 is 5000). Now killing 5000 rats to stop a plague (somthing to bring down hp) may sound extreme, but that would give a common bond to all players. It could be one of the unique flavors to the game. So long as you are not in Plague territory you will never need fear it... Though if the rats are in the sewer of the /spawn town... it could be fun and challenging.
I can only see this as a good recruitment tool. Everyone can kill rats (even without weapons). This will give everyone a feeling that they need to help with a common problem in this world. I do see a few probs
Cons--
1. I am too powerful to kill rats (Not anymore)
2. The coding may be complex (I studdied CP for a while and I do not think it will be... I could be wrong)
3. New players will only think about getting strong and buying big weapons and spells (no rebuttal, though not all will do this)
I would appreciate all input on this matter. I have been Running pen and paper games for 10 years and playing for 12. I love to create flavor characters (ie the kender or gnome that can\'t fight but always gets the party into trouble and aquires the key they need). I like to powergame when the Gamemaster is gearing toward it.
Warhammer FRP is one of the best I have played. You do not rise in level, only change careers therefor using skills you have acquired. I like the D20 system stuff cause I can mix Wookies into DND. Fun times.
(I lost my path of thought. Sorry I needed to leave and will post more when I return to it)
Oh yeah I would like to see things that could get newbs involved in quests that will give them a reason to stay... ie if they leave this worl will be destroyed...
