RP Name: Vegoz
(pronounced \"vee-goes\" and although it ends in a z, it is a very soft z, to where it is bascially an s sound.)

I have a GEforce4MX 440 with AGP8X 128mb graphics card running on the older 69.99 type driver. Updating does not help.
I not only have black screens but the menus like ping server show up without touching the button and the skin menu for the setup  shows up  normal with colored background, but words stay whenever you close the menu. I have seen this before when toying with menu to play new games. I tried the methods I know to solve the problem, but it still did not work.

Evil has no place to hide no more
For the righteous renewed now stand

This makes absolutely no sense. Demarthl I think you\'re wrong because I have INTEL 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics controller 64bit.. :p

This cars screws up in Descent3, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, and I dunno what else

But it works fine in PS.  ?(  The computer itself and the card and drivers ae less than a year old though. Mabye that means something.

Ah. But you\'d think even a low end nvidia or raedon would b better than an intel..

Besides, it worked before the update right?

I too have had this problem...

It was resolved for me by going into the windows display settings, and setting the hardware acceleration to \"none\".

Hope this helps.

Actually, it looked like it was going to work,
then it froze on an error...\"Memory cannot be written..\" or the like.

Same problem GeForce4 MX 420. Changing to 16-bit works but sooner or later ends up in 1 fps in the game. For me, 32-bit works in the game, at least for the 3D graphics. The downside is that you can\'t see some of the 2d graphics like the graphics of the panels so you don\'t get some of the buttons etc...

So I get to choose: 1 fps or missing graphics. :/

I hope developers can find the problem and fix it, wasn\'t like this before. Other than that the update was good. ;)

EDIT:
I poked around a little in the r3dopengl.cfg file, uncommenting ( removing the ; ) from this line seems to help, but then the 3d looks messed up instead:
Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_multitexture  = false
