« on: September 20, 2005, 04:10:13 am »
Ok everyone I will be gone for awhile. I live in lake jackson texas right beside freeport texas. This is the most likly target for Rita. Wensday night I will choose to leave or stay. If you guys see that this storm is hitting freeport Texas and cat 3 or worse then keep me in your thoughts....

Best choice if you can... leave.  No need to put yourself in anymore danger then you can handle.  Hopefully the Hurricane does not strengthen as much as it could...

I would take everything more valuable and run away too. And I don\'t get why
anyone wants to go back to the New Orlean...all stuff there were either
flooded or robbed, better to get started in some place which not lays below
the sea...

Well me my wife and kids are packed and leaving today. As most of you know Rita is cat 3 soon to be cat 4 so we are not even thinking of staying. Hopefully I will see you all soon. Who knows anything at this point though. Anyone else on these boards in southeast texas who are having to leave.....good luck.

Its best that you will be safe.  Hopefully everyone in harms way will also get that chance to leave.. and they take it.  Look forward to talking with you soon..

BTW if they ask you where you want to go to.. Come on to Kansas.. I own a house :P

Best wishes from old Europe (if you can read this).

If not, good luck with the rebuilding ...

(Somehow I\'m glad we don\'t have those freaking hurricanes, only floods from time to time.)

It\'s just gone to cat 5.... really not good. I hope that this won\'t be a disaster like Katrina.

Wow how ironic, katrina is the second worst storm in us history and ritas about to blow it away. Either way its not going to be as bad as new orleans. Dumbasses built a city 130ft belows sea level....

What storm was worse in US history? Certainly not Hurricane Andrew or that other from like 30 years ago. Neither rivaled Katrina in deaths, damage costs, or overall destruction nor power afaik... but if I\'m wrong tell me - I\'m not contradicting, just curious.
