WARNING: could not load plugin \'crystalspace.kernel.vfs\'

Download the following file and replace the one in your PlaneShift folder with it:
http://www.planeshift.it/download/temp/vfs.dll

THEN LAUNCH UPDATER AGAIN.

Not sure why so many people are getting this error, it should be fixed already.

What do you mean replace? C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue  <--- Thats where I am at.
But I don\'t see another file like that to replace it with.

It\'s not that hard ;) There (should be!) a vfs.dll in C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue already. What you do is simply download the new file Zabeal linked to, and stick it into PlaneShift\'s main directory, replacing the old. And if you don\'t have a vfs.dll, it\'s even simpler - the downloaded file goes into C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue, and that\'s it.

Sorry to tell you that I downloaded the file that zabeal linked to, overwrited the one that was already there, and it still gives me the same exact error. Am I screwed?

EDIT: I\'ve done the update, and everything works fine now. So do that, and cross your fingers.

I\'m experiencing the same issue.

I\'ve also tried to replace that vfs.dll file and run the updater again but this had no effect. Something else I noticed is that my setup won\'t run anymore at all.

The updater in recovery mode fails too?
There are threads where is pointed out that you could try moving the files outside the ps folder and see if the updater manages to get them (there\'s an option to change the default mirror too) all in order to avoid reinstalling the game again.
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

Well removing the file in question, or the accompagnying .cfg file only makes the updater crash as well so I\'m not getting anywhere that way.

No idea how to initiate recovery mode.

Recovery mode can be loaded by clicking the link named \"updater (recover mode)\" in the start menu.  Who would\'a thought?....   :P  If somehow you don\'t have one, stick a -auto onto the end of the updater\'s command.  All this \"recovery mode\" does, is put it into text mode.

Putting the correct vfs.dll in WILL fix this issue.  If you still crash something for one reason or another, it\'s a separate problem.  If your setup is crashing, try editing pssetup.cfg in notepad or your favorite text editor.  Stick a semicolon ( ; ) in front of every line with the word \"sound\" in it, save, and try to load it again.  (you\'ll still need a working vfs.dll, first)

Problem fixed, apparently there was a second update that needed to be done as well.
