Conspiracies
« on: January 08, 2006, 07:31:04 pm »
I know I\'m not the only paranoid shmuck out there.  It seems like just about anything that happens, at least here in America, can be blamed on some kind of government conspiracy (I don\'t think the X-Files helped any... ).  I want to hear some of the more interesting and some of the more absurd conspiracy theories there are to be found out there...

I have to say I do believe that the government knows more about extraterestrial life and interstellar travel than they admit, especially since USAF claims that they might (emphasis mine because I don\'t entirely believe it.) have a working interstellar travel prototype that they might(see above) be able to test in about 5 years.

I also believe that someone is out to get anyone and I am a person and therefore a potential target for someone.

On the more obscure and ridiculous end of things I\'ve heard that some people believe that the natural disasters hitting all over the place are part of a secret US weather control weapon.  (I suppose anything is possible but...)

You brought up the monster, let us just hope that Nebuduck doesn\'t quote me in this thread.

Believing in some government controlling the events is no better (or worse) thatn believing in a god. Are there conspiracies, probably. Is every single strange event a conspiracy, unlikely.

Didn\'t say I don\'t believe they aren\'t controlling stuff they have no business being in, but I think weather control is a bit overboard.

Incidentaly... A conspiracy, according to dictionary.com is \"An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.\"

Truth is stranger than fiction.

The conspiracy is the same conspiracy over and over again.  The Right wing politicians in America murder someone, or start a war, or rig an election, or steal money.  They do something horrible in the name of greed and power.  And then they use their control over the mass media to lie about it to the American people.

You mean the conspiracy about the apollo 13 conspiracy... There is definitive proof it happened.
Warning: Prone to common sense.

I am personally a big fan of the moon landing conspiracy... debunking it that is.  I wish people would just give up and say \"We made it, ok.  Happy Now?\"  and then I can say \"Yes\" and find some other strange thing that people believe.

As for the Apollo 13... I never studied that one... never actually heard it before really.

/me goes off to study the arguments

I for one have serious problems with all the mysteriousnessness around Area 51. What the hell, just tell us if there was something or not, if you found something or not, don\'t be all mysteriouslike thingies. You know what I mean? :)

Oh and all the disasters lately...it\'s not some weather controlling device...it\'s just us humans who have totally *bleeped* up the world, and now we\'re bearing the consequences of that :)

Ride the Maelström!!

Here is my conspiracy theory.  Corporations run the world.  Governments are just puppets and pawns of powerful corporations whose end motive is to control and manipulate the public to give over more money to them.
...

hey wait, that\'s not a conspiracy theory... it\'s called capitalism!  ha ha

....

(now will someone call me a communist? or even worse... a liberal!? :P )

You liberal communist :P  lol.

Area 51 was a nuclear test sight.  The real stuff isn\'t there anyway, it\'s just a distractor.  There\'s another base that I don\'t think is that far away from 51 that is the real location.  Area 51 won\'t stay secret forever but it\'ll let Them stall until They have to move again.  Or maybe that\'s what They want us to think...

Area 51 isn\'t what they are doing there however isn\'t totally clear, although I seriously doubt they are still doing anything ultra secret there. It\'s  the eyecatcher now. Only things they have there are probably stuff almost everyone knows they are doing but just don\'t know the details of.

Appollo 13 conspiracy never happened I think there is some good proof they were there like reflections from the moon from equipment that was left behind after the landing. You can\'t reflect light if you haven\'t been there ;)

And haven\'t heard arguments that haven\'t been explained aswell.

The rosswell incident would be interesting. They were definately hiding something there but what? ;)

Right now it is hard enough to land on something close as Mars. Those so called \'consipracies\' circulating on the internet are simple rumors based on next to nothing.

Wow, a quadrupple negation in one sentence! 8) I do agree with your conclusion though. ;)
