Never bring a knife to a...

...long-distance fight...

Any ideas about throwing axes/knifes, ninja stars, bow-n-arrows, crossbows, hand-catapults, grenades, cannons, guns, rifles, rocket launcher and ICBM launchers go here...

Of course, keep it reasonable, no lazer guns in the dark ages... However a powder rifle could be a good idea.
I'm pretty sure we'll get some bows and stuff, but we also need more freaky long-distance weaponry.

Yeah... no.  There will be bows and arrows, and maybe even throwing knives or something, but that's it for a while.  There will be no guns...

But guilds will have castles and we can shoot eachother with catapults right?  In the very distant future?

Actually, that'd be kinda cool.  :)

Eventually I guess siege weapons might be possible, seeing as we'd like to have player constructible houses and such.

I wonder what sort of skill levels you'd need to build a trebuchet... Is there potential for a woodcrafting skill? Or a builder's skill for hut, house, castle, etc. construction? Maybe several characters, each with a reasonably high skill rank in woodcraft, metalcraft, mining (well, some sort of digging...) would have to work together to construct architecture. Way off into the future.

And where are you going to get a cow, let alone a disease-infected one? Oooooh! Potential for a livestock, farming skill!

Disease infected tamed trepors, but dead.  But if they're dead it doesn't matter if they were tame or not while alive, but they were tamed and it's important to say so.

or acid potions.

especially on bugs and other insect or wood based creatures.

simple low tech (for medievil) and effective.

definatly need acidic flamable and poisoned Arrows/darts etc.

Some simple sketches. They weren't ment for this, it was a DnD request of someone, but still handy...
Some old guns, even some medieval guns, and a crossbow, some grenade like stuff, and some arrows...

Good point.

Guns need some knowledge, are heavy, cumbersome, and quite expensive if you use 'em on little critters.

I don't think we want PS to be like WoW. I mean in the thing that nearly every hunter is a dwarf with a gun. Think. A HUNTER. With a GUN. The animals would fly away, so scared would they be when you come going in the woods hunting with your uber big gun who would make as much noice as big bang.

Bows look waaaaaaay cooler, imo.

anyway... guns arent really that medieval/fantasy, when have you ever read a book, say by robert jordan, and it goes "... and Rand pulled out an AK 47 and shot Moridin in the face!"

Something not mentioned here (not that im too fond of it) is wands

I absolutly hate the idea of guns inPlaneshift. I think thhat it should be kept at heavy crossbows and thats it. Guns just  seem to out of place in Planeshift.
