A Guide to Running Planeshift on Mac OS X Replies

I opened chaos\'s new download, but instead of it downloading, it just opened a new browser window and showed a bunch of letters and words and numbers......what do I do?

ok, I figured it out...click on save linked file....or just save whatever the file is...save it to your desktop, then drag it into your planeshift folder....it\'ll say that it already is in there, and if you should replace it..just say yea...then the PS client will work

Ok, its not working now.....its saying that the server failed :-(....it hates me

Not a problem...and yea, I just got rid of the updater thing that chaos posted, and I\'m redownloading it, hoping that he updated the updater along with the file he put up yesterday...so hopefully thats it..if not, I\'ll pm chaos and tell him.. :-)

Even though i have planeshift up and running it still quite frequently unexpectedly quits is there any way to stop this?

Not that I know of. I\'d try running Planeshift by itself (no other open apps) as it takes a lot of RAM/processor, but other than that you\'ll have to ask dfryer.

chaos is right...it did that for me too...I now have no other programs open except aim and planeshift (and currently this)

And If anyone else gets the error, when signing in, that tells you that the server failed....then get rid of the updater that chaos posted, and redownload it...thats what I did, and it works now :-)

ok. so i did manage to get it up nd running etc. well half way there anyway.  i managed to get the screen up . and it stayed blank and froze my computer.... any idea what happened ?

edit : ok i tried it again and it bounces rapidly in the dock twice and wont start ....  any ideas ?

Did you run Cha0s\' updater and get all the latest updates?

I\'ve had it crash a  couple times when entering buildings.  Once was a bus error and once was a segmentation fault.  Everything was updated except the vfg file.  Either tonight or some time tomorrow I\'ll update that and see if I can duplicate the problem.

I did all of this including the account part, but it still turns on and off without even music or first scene loading. plz help

Make sure you have my latest updater. This is important. Also, do the steps in order and follow them exactly. Also, note that you only do either a or b if there are two options. Not both. If you still can\'t get it working, post EXACTLY what you are doing and post your OS version. Also post any output from the updater.
