Monk walks towards the ruins, geared up to train against any brigands in the area. He thinks idly about the matters of the day, then suddenly CRACK... blinded by Darkness, Monk is thrown to the ground. His body writhes as his mind is attacked...

Darkness.. what is this? Nilaya..?  NOOOOOO!!!! torn to shreds..! How? Can't reach out.. Where am I? Hydlaa.. it's so dark.. darkness coming from Eastern Hyldaa..

no... no not already!! All these people... I know all these people.. what is that? No... NO! all torn to shreds... mauled all of them.. no... NO I can't take it... stop.. the Darkness.

aagh. What is that? The party... they have reached the portal to seal it.. yes.. they must seal it. NOOOO... burned and torn.. all of them.. No.. it can't be.. it's not real. Get out of my head! I know you, Shadow. You will not destroy my minAAAARRGH.. no! the pain!! my limbs torn from me.. ARRGH... huh? i am back together.. AAAARGH torn again!! NO! .. get out of my head.. help me... I call on the Great Light! Help me!!!

A light appears in the midst of Monk's visions and blasts into his eyes. He lays as suddenly as before in the plains, dazed, half-blind, unable to speak from the trauma. He stumbles back to Hyldaa, and approaches the first friends he finds.. Xillix and Esseda. Eventually they understand his desperate gestures and follow him. In the quiet of North Hydlaa, Monk begins to drop tria on the ground, and tries to communicate his plight..
HELP ME...

He thinks of a healer who may be able to help him recover from this trauma..

NILAY..

DARK...

Eventually his friends understand and bring Nilaya to him. She begins to weave her healing Way, and Monk is thrown backwards. Again and again.. then he absorbes the healing light and slumps to the ground unconcious. Shardken and Gellule support Monk's limp body and take him to a bed in the tavern. Gradually he emerges from dreams of twisted darkness, and strange presences of light speaking softly by his side.

"Mother..?", Monk questions in Elvish. He awakes to see Nilaya smiling at him, and several others watching over him. Eventually he describes all the befel him.. and something important.. He saw into the Darkness' mind during the visions.. he saw the party.. the ones the Darkness fears.. he saw the spell being cast to close the portal.. the Darkness knew who must do it...

Monk goes to meditate.. He must seek back into those visions, and see the face of the one who must cast the spell to close the portal.. and who else was there

OOC: ingame i said it was Esseda casting the spell, since she often talks about being "no mage", and I thought it was a nice twist, but Peacer is very keen to play that role. Can you both please agree who will get that role? Esseda if you're willing I'm sure we can find another place for you on the party :]

We are going to need an army to clear the way to the Mouth, when the party enters (the Shadow will see us coming and surely have forces barring the party's way). We also need to establish who will be in the main party who enters the Mouth and enters the in-portal down there, to go into the Underdark and close the out-portal from within.
So far, main party members are:
Monk
A monk of the Way of Light, and an unwitting leader in the recent events
Anfa
She's jouneyed in the Underdark before, and though uneasy will hopefully be willing to return and use her knowledge
Chavem
Is marked with a Stalker Demon, yet thus far has contained it and not be possessed. He is also being beconed by a powerful-seeming demon into the Darkness. He will be in-touch with the Darkness, and perhaps even able to sense or decieve the shadows
Esseda+/Peacer
The one who must cast the portal-sealing spell with Light-Embued emeralds, and blood samples from the party.
Maybe others i'm not sure - anyone else?

We should set a date to have the party chosen, the army assembled, and the plan ready to go. What time suits people best? I'm not in America but I'm flexible so I'll suit most others. Some GMT's to suggest anyone? I'm hoping for a date not more than a week away.

Monk: names to add to the list would be,
Zorbels who battled and won against the dark and would go in to finish it,
Janner who thanks to past rp is more or less imune from the darkness [I think that's the story?]

Talk to them!!

Strong fighters to clear the way of the horrid creatures in the underdark so the mages can make it to the portal to close it.

Cheers
Anfa

This is an account of Corune's expedition to find his guild sister Aoibhihn.  Aoibhihn had gone to the Face by herself to smite the evil.  Corune found only a piece of the emerald crystal that she was carrying and her journal.  The crystal shard showed him a vision of Aoibhihn going through the portal.

Corune had heard that his guild sister had returned from Wyldwood, but now she was missing.  Knowing she was Anfa's sister, Corune had an idea of where she may be.  Aoibhihn craved excitement and danger and Corune could imagine that she had gone to what was now a most interesting and dangerous place, the Face.  Knowing that Anfa could not return to the Face, Corune decided to search for Aoibhihn himself.

When he reached the Face, Corune knew he had been right.  A gappling hook was affixed to the right eyelid with a rope dangling down into the open mouth.  They must be Aoibhihn's.  Only she would be so headstrong as to put herself in the danger that was the Face.

Climbing up the Face from the top of the head, Corune reached the eyelid, where the rope was attached.  He felt a cold chill emanating from the mouth as well as the stench of decay.  Holding the rope tightly, he peered down for any sign of his sister.  Looking down into the gaping mouth, he could see only about 15 feet, before the darkness took over.  Though, as he continued to look, straining his eyes, he thought he saw a greenish glow far below him.  Indecision tugging at him, Corune decided to call out.  Softly, at first he called, "Aoibhihn.  Aoibhihn.  Is that you?"  The only reply was an echo and the rather intense smell that continued to radiate from the mouth.

Tugging on the rope, he tried to evaluate whether it will hold his considerable kran weight and whether it was long enough for him to climb out if he moved in a little closer.  Feeling a little too much give, he was not sure this rope, meant for his dermorian sister, would be strong enough for him.  Grunting in frustration, Corune wished he had brought his own rope.  Better I return to town and get help than to have two people lost, he thought.  Though, before he left, he couldn't help trying once more.  This time watching the green light carefully, he called out a bit louder, "Aoibhihn!"  The light seemed to fade some, but was still there.  Frustrated that there was nothing he could do, Corune slid off the side of the Face and hurried back toward town.

Even though he did not know for sure what had happened to Aoibhihn, he needed to let Anfa know what he had found.  Searching through Hydlaa, he found her near the temple.  Panting, he tried to spit out the story.

Corune pants.
Anfa turns to Corune
Anfa says: Greetings Corune it is good to see you
Corune says: Anfa.... Looked for your sister.
Anfa says: Aoibhihn? Did you find her?
Corune says: At the face...
Anfa says: What?!
Corune says: I saw her hook and rope.
Corune pants
Anfa begins to tremble
Anfa says: Hook and rope?
Corune says: There was a green light down in the mouth.
Anfa says: Corune..what has she done?
Anfa looks stricken
Corune says: She has gone down.
Corune says: I'm sure it was her.
Corune says: I could not follow. The rope was too weak.
Anfa says: Green light...the missing emerald..
Corune says: I called out. There was no reply.
Anfa says: Oh Gods...but if the crystal is there, where is Aoibhihn?
Anfa feels faint
Anfa says: Corune..where is my sister?!?!
Corune catches his breath.
Corune says: Anfa, she is surely down the mouth.
Anfa says: Noooo...
Anfa says: No no nonononon...they can't have her..I won't let them have her..
Anfa begins to look abit crazed
Corune says: I must return for her, but I need a stronger rope.
Anfa says: It is not safe Corune
Anfa says: Not alone
Anfa says: I know...but me?
Anfa says: Maybe they will trade, maybe they will give her back if I offer myself?
Corune says: Maybe she is not yet captured, only injured.
Anfa says: You want to go down and look for it?
Corune says: Yes!
Anfa says: You must stay away from the tunnels that lead out of the main chamber...anyone of them could be the portal to the underdark,
Corune says: Ok, but I could see the green glow from the top. I could go down only that far.
Anfa says: Oh Gods, if I go back I am lost...please Corune..try to find Aoibhihn for me..
Anfa looks at Corune with tears in her eyes..
Corune says: I will try, Anfa.
Corune says: I go now to get more rope. Then I will go to the face.
Anfa nods thankfully

Loaded down with rope, Corune reached the Face again.  He tied several ropes off on the trees near the Face and looped then around the Face's nose.  Then, before lowering himself down, he looked once more into the mouth.  The cold welled up once again from inside.  Corune carefully lowered himself into the mouth.  He could still see only about 15 feet down.  The green glow was still there though.  It had to be about 150 to 200 feet down and it was dim, but it was there.  Corune continued down, trying to make his way toward the green glow, hoping …  He made it down part way.  There were bits of ancient and recent gore and decay all about him and there was something now obscuring his view inside.  Aoibhihn's rope was beside him, but it was broken about half way down.  Perhaps a sharp rock, thought Corune.  I must make sure it does not cut my ropes.  Corune tried to guide himself away from what ever was obscuring his view, and continued to make his way down.  Recalling Anfa's story of her journey, he watched for movement in the darkness.

He found the bottom well lit and looked around for signs of Aoibhihn and the emerald crystal Anfa had mentioned.  The crystal cast a greenish glow.  The smooth walls of the statue itself gave way to corridors leading off in four directions.  The emerald lay on the ground.  No, it was only a small piece of the emerald crystal.  In front of it was a back hole in space that randomly sputtered with white electrical enrgry.  Frustration once again surged through Corune.  He reached for the emerald shard, keeping his body as far from the black hole as possible.  The lightening seemed to arc out as his hand got closer to the stone.  He yanked his hand back and the electrical energy likewise receded.

He noticed what looked like the other half of Aoibhihn's rope trailing off into the black portal.  She went in, Corune thought.  Corune looked around for a stick, or bone, that he could use to get the crystal piece.  He easily found a leg bone on the floor and reached out with it, hoping to rake it away from the portal.  As he reached out, the electricity arced out as before.  Expecting the arc, Corune contiued, hoping the bone would take the brunt of any harm.  It did.  As the bone touched the crystal shard the energy darted out, charring the bone.  But he had moved the piece of crystal several inches closer to himself.  Continuing to move the shard closer, he watched the arc carefully hoping he could move the crystal far enough away that the arc could not reach it.  After a few tries and another bone was found after the first shatters, he was able to get the piece of crystal in his hands.  As he grabbed the crystal, he had a vision.

He saw Aoibhihn tying the rope off to a rock and heading toward the portal.  She put the emerald crystal in her pack and entered the portal.  Now there could be no doubt about it, Aoibhihn had been there.  The rope was still tied, but it was slack going into the portal.  Corune tugged on Aoibhihn's rope, testing to see whether anything was tied to the other end.  When he touched the rope lightning moved up the rope toward him rapidly.  The rope seemed slack and he dropped it before the lightning reached him.

He concentrated on the vision, trying to bring it back to tell him more about what happened.  He saw Aoibhihn entering the mouth, lowering herself down on her rope, the emerald crystal tied to her pack to provide light.  The rope broke and she fell.  A small shard of the crystal broke off when she struck the ground.  She didn't notice the small piece of the crystal where it lay on the chamber floor.  He pictured her investigating the cave using the emerald crystal as a light as he now was using the shard.  She investigated the portal then went down one of the corridors.  The vision faded and Corune could clearly see which tunnel Aoibhihn had gone down.

Confused about the sequence of things the shard of crystal was showing him, Corune turned toward the tunnel that he saw in the vision and began to slowly walk toward it.  He stopped before entering and held the crystal out to shed some light in the tunnel as he peered inside.  Noticing there seemed to be a lack of bodies piled up near the opening, he continued forward.  As he moved down the corridor he found it becoming muddy.  Looking down, he saw that it was a reddish sludge and the bones in this corridor seem to be chipped and broken to small slivers.  Odd, thought Corune as he looked at the sludge closer.  It seemed as though the floor was soaked with blood rather than water.  He could only guess that something was feeding on the bodies that were dumped into the mouth.  He could not be sure, but there were no rats and that was odd.

Corune looked around, now unsure of the visions he has seen.  Anfa had told him not to go down the tunnels.  But surely Aoibhihn was down one of them, this one.  Corune moved forward watchful for whatever caused the bloody mud.  He now saw footprints, many of them.  There were two sets, one going in and one coming out.  It maked sense, he thought.  She went down this way, and then went back out and into the portal.

Thinking perhaps at least to confirm what he thought, Corune continued down the tunnel a little further, keeping an eye out for danger and trying to follow the tracks.  The sludge got deeper and the smell became overpowering.  He could barely stop himself from being sick.  He was in mud up to his ankles and was about 30 feet in.  The corridor ceiling seemed to widen some until he could not see the roof beyond the outer range of the light.  Just as he turned to return to the main chamber, he saw a book half sunken in the muck.  The feeling of cold intensified and he thought he heard breathing in the distance.  He pulled on the book and it moved from the muck with a sploork.  It the distance, he heard a hiss.  The mud at his feet began to slowly bubble.  Time to leave, Corune thought.  He hastily retreated to the main chamber.  In his haste he came a tad to close to the portal and Zap!  Lightening struck the crystal burning his hand until he moved out of the range of the arc.  Instead of being burnt though he had been intensely frost bitten.

Resigned that Aoibhihn had gone through the portal, Corune began the slow climb out of the mouth.  As he grabbed the rope to go up, the hissing got louder and the mud seemed to boil.  The corridor belched a large amount of mud into the area by the rope and his lower body was covered with an ooze of dirt and human remains and bone fragments.  He climbed and the hissing and noise grew quieter.

He finally made it out.  He was in one piece though badly frost bitten on his hand where the portal had touched him and the emerald.  Corune slid down the side of the face to the ground.  It felt much better being in the open air.  His body was covered with teeth and bone fragments and muddy blood.  He just wanted himself cleaned.  Wiping some of the muck from himself, he sat on a nearby rock to look at the book.  The book was labeled "Aoibhihn's Glyphs and notes".  It fell open to where a page had been torn out.  After the torn out page, he read.  "Dear Journal it is dark here and almost boring if you can stomach it …"  That sounded like Aoibhihn.  He needed to find Anfa and show her what he had found and tell her the bad news.  Returning to Hydlaa again, he found her at last.

Anfa says: Greetings Corune and news on my wretched sister?
Corune says: Anfa, at last I found you.
Anfa frowns worried now
Corune says: News, yes, but it's not good.
Anfa says: Where is Aoibhihn Corune?
Corune says: I'm afraid she has gone into the portal.
Anfa blinks and than shudders
Corune says: I found a shard from the emerald.
Corune says: And I found her journal.
Anfa says: Oh no Corune...
Anfa says: What has she done?
Corune says: There was a rope, leading into the portal.
Anfa moans while the shadows thicken around them laughing quietly
Anfa nods remembering that
Corune says: The piece of crystal showed me a vision of her going in.
Anfa shakes her head not wanting it to be true
Anfa says: You found only a piece?
Corune says: Yes. Only a piece.
Anfa says: The rest of the crystal was not found?
Anfa thinks furiously
Corune says: No. Only a piece. I could find nothing else.
Anfa whispers to herself and to the shadows "She must still have the rest, enough to protect her from the darkness..."
Corune says: I would have tried to follow her through the portal, but I thought I would need more help.
Anfa nods and smiles sadly at Corune
Anfa says: I would not lose you as well
Corune says: I feel cowardly.
Anfa blinks away tears thinking of Aoibhihn
Anfa says: No..what she did was foolish...
Anfa says: To go in alone...
Corune says: I want to go back, but know almost nothing of the portal.
Anfa shakes her head in disbelieve
Anfa says: What did her journal say Corune?
Corune says: I have only read the first few words.
Anfa feels a coldness running through her as she tries to contain the need to run in after Aoibhihn
Corune says: It said, "It is dark here, and almost boring if you can stomach it."
Corune says: Perhaps you should read the rest.
Anfa can't help but smile at the words of her sister..
Corune offers the journal and the shard to Anfa
Anfa reaches out to take the journal and the Shard of crystal
Anfa takes both hoping this is not all that is left of Aoibhihn
Corune says: I want to help, but don't know what to do.
Anfa says: As she tucks them into her pack she smiles sadly at Corune
Anfa says: Corune, I thought her dead once and I was proved wrong..
Anfa says: I will continue to believe I will find her again..

[Thanks to Xillix for providing the environment for Corune]

The following is a blurb on where Anfa stands now and what is going on from her perspective!! All actions mentioned in this story happened in game before this was written...yes Monk did slap me outside the magic shop..lol

Anfa sits back staring into the flames contemplating the tasks before her...

Safe in the tavern in Hydlaa she swallows the cry of rage trying to escape. Two steps forward, three steps back, would they ever make it to the end? And what end would that be she wondered to herself. Anfa caresses her cheek remembering the feel of Monk's hand when he slapped her. Anfa smiles grimly to herself remembering Monk's reaction to her calling herself "expendable". Although Xillix and Baston agree with his opinion, Baston was not happy about how he expressed it..Baston...she feels his love fill her heart and a calm envelop her. Anfa didn't remember how she came to be at the face alone..she remembers the cold fury and power surging through her and knowing that this time she would not be walking away..and suddenly he was there calling her name. Looking into Baston's eyes, she was helpless and at his mercy. That Baston led her from the face and held her until the power of the darkness faded within her, amazed her. She would have surrendered to the darkness that night...

Anfa shudders and closes her eyes thinking of the darkness and Aoibhihn. "Oh my sister, why did you have to do it?"
No longer was there a choice for Anfa. That she would be returning to the underdark to confront the darkness and close the portal was now a given. That she would not be returning without her little sister was another given. "I lost you once Aoibhihn, I will not lose you again..."
Anfa opened her eyes just a crack to glare at the shadows around her as they chittered their laughter and whispered what they would do with Aoibhihn when they captured her. "Leave me alone...that you threaten for WHEN you do have her, only confirms that you DON'T have her yet and only strengthens my resolve to fight you!"
Anfa smiles satisfied at the angry hiss she receives in response and goes back to thinking of the fight ahead. That Janner and Esseda were willing to go reassured her and she hoped Zorbels was up for the fight. Both she and Zorbels had a bone to pick with the darkness that was playing with them. She would let Monk worry about the mages they needed, her concern was for the fighters. For she had no doubt there would be a fight ahead of them.

Anfa reaches into her pack without thought and caresses the remaining Emeralds. Ten she was given. One used to test the portal and all the remaining nine were needed to close it. Anfa jumps as she cuts herself on the shard of the ninth crystal and frowns at the thought of what will happen if they do not find Aoibhihn and the rest of the emerald crystal Aoibhihn had stolen. Sucking the blood from her cut finger she sends a silent prayer to whatever Gods might be listening and willing to help. "Please let us find Aoibhihn and close this portal for good. I would see the end of this nightmare once and for all."

Anfa sighs into the silence around her and stands up to go find Zorbels...

Even when i`m not involved in this RP, (except smashing some crystals at the portal  :P) it is a pleasure to see how much effort you all spend in this.
I wish you luck for your final journey.

in an unknown place, a Male nolthrir is meditating. He is in a room four walls, a ceiling a floor. No doors, no windows, only a little hole in the corner for air ventilation. Nothing is in the roon, no chairs, no plants except for the washed fur blanket from an ulbernaught. The nolthrir is hearing voices from past memories "release the butterflies!" "Burn the wards, burn them, it will show her true identity!" And the sound of battle raging with all sorts of beings and creatures screaming. Deeper down in his memories he finds other memories. Happy memories which made the nolthrir smile in a meditation. A very rare situation, "swoooooooosh!" Was the sound he heard in his unconciousness of meditation. The nolthrir feels more power streaming through his body and into a part of his body where a large amount of magic is stored up. His happy memories strengthened this stored energy of magic.

Peacer reads the scroll loud behind a tree in the woods and starts floating, the scroll burns up and he flies towards the rainbow coloured clouds. He sees a female wizard, a bit younger than himself he evaluates with his elven skills. Peacer smiles at the female nolthrir as he eyes her beautiness above the cloud, floating with the same magic as he did. Love flew through his body and the male nolthrir stored more magic in his body, breaking his unconciousness making him sweat and fall half forward, upholding his body with his arms. After a while and a sip of his potion he brought with him, he stands, and picks up the fur from the ground. He looks at his arm and frowns, but still takes forth his silverweave shortsword and cuts himself in the arm, makeing his face drawing togethher in anger. He finds another strong hollow diamond. He holds his bleeding arm upon the diamond and let some blood drip into the diamond. He sets down the bloodfilled diamond on the floor and holds his arm above his wound and whispers "tanka hawar"[heal, spell] And his wound closes. He picks up his diamond and ties it to his necklace where a diamond with blue flames is hanging to. He rotates his hand above the hole of the diamond crystal with clood and whispers "Tangwa en' templa, ram en' ondo"[wall of stone and magic lock sealing the crystal] and puts his necklace under his robe and hides it.

He looks at the wall he came from and whispers "Lema ed' templa e'a Pela en' bela templa"[Teleport into energy vortex] and a portal appears in front of him. As he walks in it he finds himself out of the room and in the wilds of oja road. He looks back and sees grok facing towards the road and smiles knowing he can succeed.

[Peacer is storing magic energy up using his happy memories as strength, and collecting his blood into a bottle.
The magic energy is used to close the evil portal which the party uses to get back to the ayliakum realm in.

Monk searched through Anfa's sister's left behind journal and discovered some portal closing magic. He presented this to Peacer, and it seems Peacer now feels confident he has completed the spell and can close the portal, if brought close enough.

Anfa and Monk:
(08:38:17) Monk says: any word of your sister..?
(08:38:30) Monk says: last i heard you had just learned she had entered the portal..
(08:38:34) Anfa shakes her head..
(08:38:47) Anfa says: Other than the frustrated hissing of the shadows..
(08:39:09) Anfa says: It reassures me that she is still safe..
(08:39:21) Monk alive perhaps.. safe i doubt.
(08:39:29) Monk is humourless
(08:39:59) Anfa says: She will be safe as long as she holds the crystal..
(08:40:20) Anfa looks coldly at Monk..
(08:40:23) Monk says: ah you're right that's true. it will afford some protection at least.
(08:40:32) Monk says: i'm glad
(08:41:04) Anfa relents and sighs unhappily
(08:41:17) Anfa says: I know she can not be completely untouched..
(08:41:20) Monk says: the ways of the legendary children are unfamiliar to me
(08:41:37) Anfa nods knowing they are very secretive..or were
(08:42:22) Monk says: is there anything else we have which may help us understand your sister's movements, to help her?
(08:42:39) Anfa reaches in her pack for the journal
(08:43:04) Anfa offers the Journal to Monk
(08:43:22) Anfa says: I have not read it so I do not know if there is anything helpful in it
(08:43:24) Monk frowns momentarily and accepts the book
(08:43:40) Anfa looks to the ground
(08:43:42) Monk carefully wipes some sludge off the cover
(08:43:46) Monk says: may i..?
(08:43:49) Anfa nods
(08:43:55) Anfa says: I could not myself...
(08:45:07) Monk opens the front cover and begins pouring through the pages
(08:45:39) Monk expression goes from surpise to shock to amazement to concern and back again as he searches through the pages
(08:51:27) Anfa stands looking at the ground grinding her teeth
(08:52:06) Monk speaks, almost to himself, as he prods his finger here and there on a couple of pages: "this.. and this here!"
(08:52:19) Monk says: hmm...
(08:52:21) Monk looks up
(08:52:37) Anfa says: I know she has been staying at the wyldewood and they have been teaching her
(08:52:46) Monk says: clearly
(08:52:54) Monk says: and she's been learning a little extra on the side it seems
(08:53:11) Anfa nods
(08:53:17) Anfa says: That sounds like Aoibhihn
(08:53:31) Anfa says: She would search out secrets..
(08:53:37) Monk says: your sister may be reckless in entering the underdark on her own, but she did have at least some reason to think she could do something it seems
(08:54:10) Anfa looks surprised
(08:54:11) Monk says: it seems she snuck into the magical archives of your brethren
(08:54:21) Monk holds up the journal
(08:54:34) Monk says: this is instructions for a mighty portal closing spell
(08:54:36) Anfa shakes her head
(08:54:46) Monk rests the journal on his knees
(08:54:56) Monk says: it's elaborate.. and it seems correct..
(08:55:06) Monk says: though she wouldn't nearly have the power to cast it, i'm sure
(08:55:20) Anfa says: I do not understand...unless they wanted her to come to Hydlaa, why would they have not given me the spell?
(08:55:42) Monk shakes his head
(08:55:53) Monk says: if you don't understand the mysterious way your elders work.. don't ask me to
(08:56:06) Anfa smiles slightly
(08:56:19) Monk says: may i copy these diagrams and notes?
(08:56:29) Anfa says: I fear they knew more of Aoibhihn's activities than she thought
(08:56:31) Monk pulls pen and ink from his pack
(08:56:40) Anfa nods agreement
(08:56:44) Monk nods: i wouldn't put it past them
(08:57:00) Monk begins to swiftly and accurately copy the notes
(08:57:11) Monk uses the skills of a Holy Script copier
(08:57:15) Anfa wonders on why they thought Aoibhihn being here was vital
(08:57:55) Monk says: i expect your elders have some not inconsiderable powers to read the fates
(08:57:59) Anfa shakes her head and growls under her breath "enough to give a warrior a complex"
(08:58:47) Monk hands anfa back the journal
(08:58:56) Monk places the papers in his backpack
(08:59:06) Anfa takes the journal and tucks it away safe
(08:59:07) Monk says: i will take these to peacer - i hope they will be of help
(08:59:26) Anfa nods

Peacer and Monk
(00:46:07) Monk says: when anfa's sister ventured into the stone face
(00:46:17) Monk stops.. have you heard of this?
(00:46:45) Peacer looks thoughtful "maybe, there is a lot about her, but maynbe this is new"
(00:47:29) Monk says: you know she stole one of the emeralds, and ran away into the underdark? trying to be a hero on her own...
(00:47:39) Peacer nods "yes, i know that"
(00:47:54) Monk says: well, before she entered the portal..
(00:48:07) Monk says: she dropped her dairy of glyphs and notes
(00:48:33) Monk says: anfa gave me an opportunity to look through it
(00:48:40) Peacer looks curious in his facedrawings and raises an eyebrow "and you want me to look at it?
(00:49:03) Monk says: well you needn't look at the whole thing!
(00:49:17) Monk begins pulling out bunch of scrawled notes and magical schema
(00:49:31) Monk says: i copied these sections exactly as i found them
(00:49:36) Monk passes peacer the pages
(00:49:50) Peacer reaches for the noteS and takes them
(00:49:54) Monk says: she may have been a foolish, trying to do things all on her own
(00:50:05) Monk says: but she did have _some_ reason to motivate her..
(00:50:26) Peacer nods and looks at the papers "hmm"
(00:50:27) Monk says: she is one of the legendary children, the people of wyldwood you know
(00:50:44) Monk says: and her people have many great knowledges
(00:51:07) Peacer nods "yes, but i ain't the best mage in yliakum for nothing aye?"
(00:51:10) Peacer winks
(00:51:24) Monk says: aye! well it seems she had snuck into their archives and found this powerful portal-closing spell
(00:51:43) Monk says: it seemed to me, thAt it shouLd work
(00:51:45) Monk says: but i need you to confirm it
(00:51:47) Peacer shakes his head "it won't be powerful enough"
(00:52:07) Peacer says: i would require double as much magic stored within me to use my own sealing spell
(00:52:07) Monk says: perhaps it could help? with your power?
(00:52:40) Peacer says: in that i would need a happy memory, really happy, could be created tonight though and i can think of something really giving me some magical powers
(00:53:47) Monk says: i don't quite understand..
(00:54:00) Monk says: you will have the light embued emeralds of course
(00:54:05) Monk says: your own magical blood
(00:54:12) Monk says: and each of the party will give you a sample of theirs
(00:54:14) Monk says: what else is required?
(00:54:15) Peacer smiles "it's simple, the last few days i have been meditating to store up magical power within me
(00:54:36) Monk nods
(00:55:02) Peacer says: if i get some powerful artifacts like that the power i have now is enough
(00:55:25) Monk breaths in relief
(00:55:33) Monk says: i was counting on it..
(00:55:41) Monk says: so we have you, our wizard
(00:55:46) Monk says: and we have the powerful artifacts you need
(00:55:51) Monk says: but what about the actual spell itself?
(00:56:04) Monk says: will these diagrams and enchantments from the journal help you?
(00:56:51) Peacer says: i have looked a bit in my ancenstors books and found a spell, i have practised it a bit over the last few days
(01:02:37) Peacer reads the notes again "but there is some certain information here, that is useful."
(01:03:00) Monk says: I'm glad..
(01:03:15) Peacer takes a silent look beneath his robe near his neck
(01:03:26) Monk says: at least Anfa's sister's meddling did some good...
(01:04:12) Peacer grins "yes, if you haven't found these notes, the energy dimension vortex would just become unstable
(01:04:21) Peacer says: come here
(01:04:46) Peacer whispers to monk
(01:04:59) Peacer tells you: come closer, it's not good to show this in public
(01:05:16) Monk comes closer
(01:05:57) Peacer fumbles with the part of his robe near his throat amd finds forth a necklase with two diamonds, one with something blue sparkling in it and another with a red liquid
(01:06:56) Peacer whispers "take a good look at the one with the blue flames, this needs to be used in the spell i was creating
(01:07:15) Monk examines the artifact with fascination
(01:08:49) Peacer tells you: i didn't think it was any use, but if i took i had it on me the necklase would have been rippen of me and sucked into the door and then closing it and remain the portal open being sucked into the energy dimension vortex foor i was creating,
(01:10:07) You tell Peacer: i .. see..
(01:10:35) Monk is a little confused by all the magical terminology, being no mage himself
(01:10:36) Peacer tells you: then everything would have been lost, we would have to start all over again if it wasn't to late, it will be a waste of good time
(01:12:42) Peacer looks at monks face and sees signs of unknowledge in them "do you understand this"
(01:13:21) You tell peacer: well, it's a little beyond me, but i'm glad i can entrust that side of things with you.

*the following is how I am playing things. no worries, as it will not interupt any other plans or RP. just ignore the mad dwarf. ;)

Krook was again at his secret hideaway in the hill high over the face. What he did not know, however, is Peacer and Xillix had somehow found his buried home (credit that to Aeshion, and her constant search for the missing flowers of the first Level). They had come searching for him, with some hard questions.

The haunt had visited Peacer in the Temple, revealing its plight. In helping Zorbels fight the demon plaguing her, the haunt had greatly angered the demon. The demon was too weak to possess another body with a soul, so retreated to the land of the dead to build its strength back. There, it found Untar, the haunt’s true body (that part is explained in my other post) and is trying to possess it. This manifests in the haunt, causing its blue haze to flash and angry red. The demon then speaks through the haunt. The haunt fights, but grows weak. If the demon is not banished from Untar’s body, the soul that is the haunt will fade, and the demon will have a new body. One that it has no need to fight another soul for.

Peacer and Xillix learned from the haunt that Krook Betifale knew of a way to defeat the demon. After a bit of a long chase ;), Aeshion showed them where Krook’s home was. This is excerpted from that conversation.
(reordered a bit so as answers coincide with questions)

“Krook, the poet's spirit sent us to you,” Xillix said as the dwarf stood grumply over his discovered home.

“Who?” Krook retorted rudely.

“Untar?”

“I ain't knowing no Untar or haunts,” the dwarf answered sharply.

“You lie Krook.”

Peacer stepped forward to head off the coming argument. “Do you remember a demon cursing you a hundred years ago?”

Krook stumbled, looking shocked. After a bit of banter from the two invaders trying to rise his spirits, he looked back up again. “It found me 'gain. Din't it.?”

After poking and prodding, Xillix and Peacer were able to worm the truth out of the cranky, old dwarf. He did, indeed, know how to bring the haunt and its body back together (will be RPed out ingame) … He also knew a great deal more. He spoke of the Shadows.

“They ain't gods. They ain't demons. They be....us.”

"The curse will die with you,” Xillix broke in impatianty, likely wanting a straight answer from the Dwarf for once, “or you can give up believing it, I am not fooled. Your death or the strength of your character are the only ways to be rid of this entity. Now speak plainly for you have caused much pain and while that does not trouble me, it troubles you. I can sense it.”

Krook answered slowly, the pain in his words plain. “They be what we believe them ta be. They be demons, ‘cause you think they are. They be the darkness from the portal cause those fools think they are. They need ta be fought, cause you all think it ta be so.” Krook paused, searching the ground at his feet for uncoming answers. “People is going ta die…” His eyes came back up, staring at Xillix and Peacer. “Cause we believe it gots ta be that way.” He paused once more to look at the face. “And so it does,” he whispered.

Peacer shook his head, “Others do, I don't.”

“There be no other way," Krook insisted, “It will nev'r die till everyone who knows of it -believes- it ta be dead. We all gotta fight it in our own way…”

To sum up, this is how I am RPing this. The force behind the Shadow has existed for a long time, perhaps forever. What it is, in essence, is the belief of the people made ‘flesh’. Or in this case, the demons. Do not take that the wrong way. The plight is indeed very real, just as the demons are very real. We make them real by believing in them. So, why not just stop believing in them? Imagine half-seeing a demon creep from the shadows in the dead of night, it’s bulging eyes alight on the bed you rest upon. Its face twists with hate, its claws clutch greedily towards you. With a taunting chuckle, it fades back into the dark. Now…try to believe you never saw it.

Krook met with this force twice before. The first time it took his family and cursed any friend he would ever have. The second, it took his only friends in a hundred years. Krook is the only one who knew of the Shadow, as all others who did had died. It was he who still believed in it. He knew it would come back twenty years ago, and so it did. He knew it would be back again now. But this time, he also knows it for its true form. For once in his long life, he believes it can be destroyed.

So, the plan must go on. Why? Because it will work.

Monk sits deep in thought, "Soon. We must make our stand soon. The Shadow creeps closer to the city every day. The Army is coming together. The fates are on our side and the people are brave. It is just as well.. who knows what forces the Darkness can muster, and the dark guilds rally to it's side. Soon. The Shadow will see the party coming when they approach the face. Resistance is inevitable. The Army will fight with their lives to clear a path to the Face. Who knows whether they will be victorious or fall.. but what truly matters is that the Party takes the first openning in the fray and reaches the Mouth at all costs.."

The final battle is scheduled for Satuday 20 May.

How is 2100 GMT to get the event rolling up, for all you US people? Any better suggestions?
