The problem is that not everyone is in a guild...=X

People could be invited to guilds only for this purpose and then leave after the battle ends.

yep, some sort of thing needs to be pre-arranged, Aradia's idea is sound.

Don't worry it will. The question is, once the Party has entered the Stone Face and left the battle behind, where should they RP the journey through the Underdark (which is not the DR).

I'm leaning towards the Dungeons now actually. 3 reason:
1. Like Peacer said the DR is full of noobs which doesn't make sense for our RP, and especially when we need to drop things.
2. There are more/bigger mosters in the Dungeon.
3. It's meant to be someplace other than the DR, so should we really have it in the DR?

As for the battle idea, I still prefer two groups challenging each other at will. That means we don't have to mess around with guilds. And the big reason: some people from the same guild are choosing opposite sides.

we can still make guildwars, it'll as aradia said be easier without /challenge messes, and for thoose not in a guild, can be in a temporary guild until the battle ends, and we can go in groups to seperate each other with a blue tag.

Anyway a question, the party going to the head, are they entering the big bad battle to  >o)?

Guild war option is the best for the time of the fight but need a lot of preparation (recruit people not in guids and guild member with  leaders not here, leaders meeting and cross war declarations, and after the event, leaders meeting for peace, kick all guild aliens and later recruitement by there true guild.)

not not a big guild, we stay in our current guild and invite thoose who need a guild then we go to war against each other when on the battlefield.

We stay in our guilds
thoose not in a guilds choose a side and join a guild with that side
we do guildwards (baston changes vaice to temporary leader or something so that he can gain into the guildwar)
we kick ass
we rp to the head and kick thoose out not in a guild.

All those sided with the Shadow are following their own heart. They may win the battle! (whether they win or lose, the party only needs a chance to get into the Stone Face)


Once again, some people from the same guild will be on different sides. Furthermore, some guild leaders will not be present and able to sort out such issues.

We're going to need to organise groups anyway, so people can sort out who their enemies are by Nametag colour. Why double the preparation time sorting out guilds as well? And we don't want to make it a big tidy-up job for guild leaders.

Challenging is nothing major. Just challenge and attack.

My idea was just for the sake of realism. In war you don't walk up to your enemy and say "Would you care for a duel to the death?" only to have them reply "No, kind sir. You are much stronger than I." Then, you walk away? *coughs* Well, maybe that's not the best way to explain it either. In war, you don't ask someone to fight you, you just fight.

The guild and group idea, I think would be time consuming, but effective in the end. Guild leaders will just write down the temporary members on a wonderful invention called "paper" using an equally amazing tool called a "pencil". Then, once the battle is over, they go down the list, click remove and all is finished.

Or, two temporary guilds could be made for the "guildless good" and the "guildless evil". They get added to the appropriate alliance for the war, then the guild can be disbanded afterwards if they so desire.

*shrugs* Once again, I just say this for trying to save realism. The option for war is there, but it is never used. Now there is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of it, but not many seem to like the idea. To be honest, it confuses me.

:) We have limited options when it comes to guild waring, so the lack of realisim is just going to be there no matter what. Plus people need to go AFk at times for RL and it would be a shame seeing as this is a war ....  for someone to cheat and kill people while AFK. The best way I have seen it done is for one group to ban together into group, then the green named people get sent challenges from the blue named group. Once all challenges are accepted then its fighting time and you don't have to worry about the challenge issue unless you die. If this is a war though and we are trying to stick to realisim then once you die you should be out. This will also prevent being struck down by Laanx if it seems like to the system you are spamming with challenges. thats my suggestion.

the challenging everyone thing is a very bad idea imho, would take loads of time, the guildwar thing will go like

invite people not in guilds
guildwar against each other
should take 1 minute

I know that. I was just saying that guild leaders could write down the names of the people temporarily joining their guild for the war so there is less confusion afterwards when those people are to be removed.
