I think he means Proglin's Steel Warrior Tournament. It was a swords-only thing, and I guess he won middle-class or something. =/

Erm ... No.  Actually, Kolesa won that class.  She did very well.   \\o//

No I mean my tournament, not "PROGLINS", MINE! Just because I am not Proglin dosent mean I cant have a TOURNAMENT!  :@#\

You certainly can have your own tournament.  I just think the point that everyone is trying to make is there is a lot of thought, planning, and work that goes into it.  Speaking for myself, I would like to know a little more about it.  Take a little time to gather all your thoughts.  Then make one informative post that answers all of the questions already asked and adds a few more details.  I wish you success.  Good luck.  I am looking forward to finding out more.

And #1... where's the role-play? All the others have a little roleplay introduction or a mention of some sort of roleplay involved, etc. Your tournament seems to be purely out-of-character. Get some roleplay involved within a few days or you'll be getting a lock.

My suggestion would be to speak with Proglin and see how he goes about setting up a tournament. I bet he would have a tip or two on how you could improve your approach. Another simple suggestion I have for you is to stop yelling about it in the plaza over and over. That day you were collecting donations and fighters you screamed out every minute that you were having a tornament, honestly it didn't attract my attention. It only became annoying.
I've been outside, it's overrated and the graphics suck!

* Proglin reads this thread and smiles.

Some pointers you need to think about before even starting a tournament:

1: Credibility. Tell people about the tournament and your way of organising things, tell them about the awards, and ask people, preferable well-known ones, for advice and help.

2: rules:  You need to have your rules ready and sorted out at the start of each tournment. Test the all, with some friends, and see which ones need changing.

3: awards: To draw enough fighters, you must be able to give some decend awards.

4: Crew: you'll need referees, and healers for sure. A guide who can bring people to the stands would be nice as well.

5: Hosting: Keep in mind, hosting a tournament is a busy job, you'll be recieving 5 tells per minute, and people will ask you things constantly, make sure you can make at least half of them happy.

6: Duration: A tournament really shouldn't last any longer then 4 houers, this one even is a problem for me.

7: Pass-time entertainment: What if the tournament suddenly comes to a stop? you'll need to entertain your fighters and your crowd to keep them interested.

8: The audience: The audience will be standing still most of the time. How do you keep them motivated?

9: Crew II: Your crew deserves some special attention, cause they helped you out so well. What will you do for them in return?

10: Schedual: Who will fight who in each round? make sure you got your schedual at the ready, that way, it will all take less time.

If you have thought about at least half of this points, the tournament will be great fun! I'm looking forward to a tournament hosted by someone capable and dedicated! Plus.... I'd really like to join one myself, and show off to my luverly Elesiy!
