Overlooked completion?
« on: May 25, 2006, 04:26:32 pm »
hello. I'm a 2D Prospect
my task has been in the "Complete" bin for about two weeks now but its status is stillĀ  "Waiting review from PS devs"
I sent an email about this aswell, (as suggested on the "What's New?" page) but I thought it would be a good idea to post it here aswell

Heh, we are famous for being slow so don't worry too much about that.  I know that Talad has been very busy with his job at the moment and we are dealing with some project organization stuff ( ie Crystal Space changing the way we get code ).  So please hang in there and don't think we've forgotten about you.

Is the CrystalSpace project organization issue still impacting development?

No, things have been sorted out now :)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Then I guess I'm going to be firing up IRC pretty soon. . .its been almost two full weeks since I marked the status of my latest project for the Engine Dept. as "completed" and repeated attempts to contact either Talad or Dave haven't resulted in, as the old saying goes, hitting pay dirt.

If there were still something going on internally, I'd hang back and let it sort itself out.
But. . .You know.

In my case it's a result of "World of Workcraft".   Rather busy 2-3 weeks at work so when I get home I'd rather play a few games then continue to do more development/bug fixing.  We tend to do a lot of stuff by osmosis so if you hang around on IRC often enough and commit good patches :).

Often times it's hard to find 'individual tasks' that we can use to test people.   Often times the tasks are intergrated into other areas that may require much more study.

However, there are a couple of areas that could be good.  For one we need a tools programmer. I have some good ideas about a improved viewmesh tool that we need for the artists.  We also need an animation tool as well but that's a mammoth of a task.  I'm also redesigning our sound system plugin so if anybody has interests in that let me know ( good for people that want some design work! )

I'd also like to redevelop the updater process a bit to make it both easier for us to create the updates and easier for people to get them.

And the only way you could say that, is if you weren't doing this PS stuff for a job. ;)

Perfectly reasonable, anyways.

What about the one they use for the gecko in the car insurance commercials?

IronHead, I had to wait quite a long time for my stuff to be accepted, but eventually it did! :) Do not worry! People are just full of work with the new update!

I have a task finished on the 31st of May that hasn't been reviewed yet!  :sweatdrop:

Spotting you!
