For that reason alone I should REALLY learn how to UV map. Even though your not very experianced, it still looks so much cooler  with a decent texture!

Aaaah. I gotta find myself a good tutorial on UV mapping in wings. I think I have down slightly... But I dont really know...
For instance I get confused on things when I see the textures  pon a white  background and just seemingly random placed splodges of colour in seperate places. But the model  doesnt get the white background, just the colour. Or do you  take the unfolded net and then colour it from there in a program like photoshop?

I try and make  textures and such in Photoshop somtimes, thats alright. But just getting them onto the model  seems strange/hard, without making several seperate textures and then placing them on. I only question my method because  when I look at ingame textures for example everything seems to be in one place...

Oh and so I dont feel like I'm kinda hijacking this thread with a bunch of questions in the newbies veriety,  I like the texture on the hammer head alot better now.  However for some reason I still feel like  the 'base"  metal texture looks very... Liquid?
Maybe thats just me though.

after i unwrap the uv, i export it to png, then edit in photoshop, after that i just drag it over the model and it gets placed automatic

Hmmm. Doesnt seem to work like that in wings unfortunatly.  Ipersonnally like the idea of doing that better. Wings seems to have a  System somthing like :
Upload texture1 --> Unwrap select area ---> drag texture1 onto cube1 in optimiser window and diffuse.
Sorry if that seems kinda jargany or you dont understand it etc. I was just kinda worried  my way would be "bad'.

Your texture resolution should always be a power of 2 (128, 256, 512, 1024, etc.), not 800x400.
