you keep changing my toons names? whats up with that?

People do not get flamed :} They get frowned on if they persist, but that's the extent of it.

A "toon" is another term for avatar, or your character. It's used extensively as WoW terminology.

The only reason you can have a DeathStriker666 in games like WoW, is because that game = powerlevelling.
This game is a true roleplaying game however. How you spent your time in-game is up to you, but you can at least use a proper name

werent our names not supposed to be two words combined? i thought that was part of the rules but i still got to keep lotsone as my last name (though i wanted it to sound europeanish and be pronounced Lo-stone instead of lost-one so i didnt intend to have a combined words name)

Word combinations usually need a story behind them - though they are definitely cool for last names. For example "Darktalon" would be a great Enkidukai family name, but it doesn't follow the Enkidukai naming conventions for a first and would thus need some sort of explanations. It sounds more like a nickname than something parents would give at birth.

This isn't set in stone though, and generally we try to be lenient and give players the benefit of doubt. Still, there are some combinations that just won't work - anything with "dragon" in it for example, as there are no dragons in Yliakum, or anything that just doesn't make sense in the medieval fantasy setting like "Fastbullet."

Not true names like that are banned on my WoW server. They have strict naming rules on the roleplaying servers

I always wanted to find a chance to point that out! There or no dragons on Earth either... And if you let the Dragon Council remain (and it would be stupid to disband them now for the name because they have been around a long time and are a great guild) then you should allow the word 'dragon' to be in perhaps last names at the least.

About the dragon thing, I talked to Miss K about it in PM's.  I hope she doesn't kill me for posting what transpired but it answers your questions.

What I sent her:

"You do realise that by even mentioning the D word, you probably have opened it up to someone replying along the lines of, "OMG i saw a guild with the word dragon in it, how come they get to be a dragon guild and i can't have it in my name, this game suxxors, screw this i'm leaving!!!!11one2""

Her response:

"Not at all :}

A guild with the name "Dragon" in it will be asked for an explanation. In this case they have a rather interesting "myth" set up that is acceptable. A character with a first name that has "dragon" in it will be asked for a story as well - or in the case that the character isn't around but the name was reported or the character logged off before a /tell could be sent, the name will just be changed and discussions will follow after. Sometimes you can immediately tell who will have a story and who won't"



To the characters you play that word, dragon, doesn't even exist in mythical terms, unless you got a really good RP explanation behind it.  As such, it is discouraged that it be used in side the game world.

This is getting a bit off-topic, but sometimes it seems like PS is trying to have absolutely no overlap with the real world. Anything that is in the real world or real-world fiction is banned. Like cats for instance... there was one topic debating what an Enkidukai should say when they are referred to as cats, and the consensus seemed to be that there were no cats in Yliakum. Why should that be so? If you turn on the ambient sound, you hear normal-sounding bird chirps, and you can get fish that look like real fish... so why shouldn't there be cats?

A good way to cover this would be to do what was done with rats in PS: make Yliakum versions of animals that are recognizable but also unique. Like make cats more like monkeys with cat heads. They'd be called cats but they'd be different. As for dragons, maybe the Yliakum versions would be more like half-bird half-pterosaur creatures that would still breathe fire. Same name, same basic idea, but they look different.
