The website certainly needs more work, but that's only natural. It's new, and websites take a while before they can be considered complete. Certainly the artwork is beautiful, although I'm not a fan of Flash myself. I'm sure that in time, the site will grow to be informative and complete. :-)

I know the Warriors well ingame, they are a respectful guild, with good roleplayers in their ranks. They certainly aren't a "new" guild, nor are most of their members. So, after making this rare post, I shall go back ingame, where I can meet and play with the Warriors, and my friends :-D

I 2nd that, well said Jorelle. Thanks Ogu.

I have been with the guild now 3 weeks and I have to say a lot of hard work and thought has gone into it, thanks Proteous. It is good to have other peoples input but there is a way of saying it. Life is too short and think we should all get IG and enjoy.

Firstly I would like to say it is a pleasure and an honour to be in a guild such as the Warriors, Proteous has worked hard making it what it is today and as a guild we can all work hard to make a possitive contribution to the PS community, the site as the guild will go from strength to strength, Nice work Pro, look forward to seeing you all IG.

Pestillence and Phinehas had a point there. I haven't got much to add, as far as the guild is concerned. For two reasons actually; one I'm not to keen on fighting guilds, two Phinehas has done all the work.

What I have to add is related to the guild leader himself, as he is probably the one who will bring the guild its major changes. When you post your guild thread here, you must welcome criticizism. I'm quite sure Phinehas was one of the few who went through the trouble of checking your site and post to uncover the mistakes that you might have done unwillingly. Even if the critiques may sound stingy, you should accept what part of them make sense to you and improve your guild with their help.

Conclusion, the guild might become better if the leading position interperts critiques for what they are: rational judgements that have been brought forth by an effortful analysis.

Good luck with the guild.
Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.

Sangwa, I agree with your conclusion:  " ...the guild might become better if the leading position interperts critiques for what they are: rational judgements that have been brought forth by an effortful analysis."

However, that is not what Phinehas presented (and I quote).

Mmm... nice art... Rather too nice... Makes me suspicious. That's about it. It's not terribly original, not very thought out, or at least not presented completely. You could make it work, but you'd have to have an extremely tenacious grip on it, and I doubt you have it in you, frankly.

This is an attack on Proteous.  First he implies Proteous plagerized the art.  Then he urinates on Proteous' ideas.  And finally, he calls Proteous' personal character into question.

This was an attack, as are many of Phinehas' posts.  Last time Karyuu scolded me for pointing these things out.  I don't know why this type of behavior is allowed and even encouraged.  But it is.

His post is imflamatory and not "...rational judgements that have been brought forth by an effortful analysis."

i agree, its becoming a little too harsh lately.

but thats, how he is,

he likes to give "constructive" critisism, and he probably sees it that way, and maybe karyuu does too, and sometimes i see it has constructive critisism, sometimes i don't.  And alot of people don't see it as constructive at all, but its all oppionated and Karyuu can make the decision.  Pm Karyuu.

Oh but I beg to differ. It's really up to interpretation. The way it was meant is first off to say that he had nice art. Yes, I admit that I had my suspicions. Is it wrong to suspect? Nor is "plagiarism" as you call it, such an evil thing, especially since this wouldn't really have been plagiarism. Also, you'll notice that I took his word for it completely as soon as he said that he made the art. I make no mention whatsoever of doubting his word that he drew the art.

As for "urinating on Proteous' idea", well that's just vulgar. I simply pointed out that it needed work. A lot of work. That is true. It was not nearly as brutal as it might have been. Also note that I did make allowances that there was more to it than what was shown to the public.

As for the thing about having a tenacious grip... You say that that's calling Proteous' character into question? That is just laughable. It's nothing of the sort, and you know it. I simply pointed out my opinion that it was not likely for him to hold on for an extended period of time to a guild that was not well organized enough to run without a driving, passionate leader behind it. That sort of guild can be a burden, as I myself have experienced.

My posts are actually "...rational judgements that have been brought forth by an effortful analysis." The only problem here is that I can't be bothered to post a full script of my thoughts on every single guild in every single thread. I don't have that much time. So I condense. However, if you would like me to post a detailed list of the faults I find in all the new guilds, then I'll do that... Oh wait, no I won't. :P

As for you, I think you're just angry that I don't follow the flowery, "Welcome to the forum, we're so glad to see you, may you have success in all you do and prosper in everything" approach to newcomers. Therefore, you have decided that you don't like me, and have decided to post personal attacks on me. So essentially you are even more guilty of everything you accuse me of, very little of which I have actually done.

I know that nothing I have said is going to change your mind, because you have simply decided you don't like me, and have no interest in being objective. However, I would suggest you would at least listen to Sangwa and Karyuu in this matter. They've known me much longer and better than you, and are what you would consider "nice" people, so they have a chance of actually being listened to.

Why do people owe him the necessary time and energy it would take to put together an intelligent reaction?

It would be nice to see this thread go back to it's original purpose.

This is The Warriors Guild thread. Phinehas has made his criticisms and suggestions as have others. We all have a right to our opinion, but learning when to speak it and when it will help nothing at all to say it would be the trick I think.

Do we really need a five page thread discussing what, why, where and who has the right to say things? Have we forgotten that this is a place to put our views and thoughts on Proteous's Guild so that we may have him here our feedback.  It is up to Proteous to do what he will with this information, and how he takes it. He is a big boy, and he is the leader of a guild ... so it is essentially he job to deal with issues, topic's and questions ... started in this thread.

Starting a "he said/she said", "he's a big meanie" thread isn't going to do anything but make the people who are trying to be compassionate to Proteous look silly because they are indeed turning this thread into a witch hunt.

Also, you have to admit that it's not actually possible for me to form any positive thoughts about your guild when your member list lists a grand total of three members, not thirty, and your forums don't appear to work, or at least they're not visitor friendly. Frankly, from your site and your post, the only thing I can see you really have going for you is fantastic artwork. That's nice, but definitely not enough to support a guild.

I saw that as rather rational.

And now a real effort to put this back on its place.

What makes the Warrior's Guild different than any other fighting guild that helps new comers? And what do you consider "Evil?"

maybe... something into inviting should be done to improve what it's said on your main page "a planeshift guild for the elite warrior only."

A guild is never finished thought out, it can always be better =)

However, I would suggest you would at least listen to Sangwa and Karyuu in this matter.

Aaye, what i did :) although i have little hate thward people to throw... well i have a lot but it's not shown ;)
