Hey there, tis moira's IRL daughter here  .. i'm here to explain exactly what my mother needs to say instead of what has been said

We don't have a ROUTER, we have a generic ADSL modem from DLINK with a SOFTWARE firewall, called sygate -- as far as we know and are able to see both windows and SYGATE will let planeshift do it's thing. 

we did a CLEAN INSTALL (as far as she told me) of 3.016 ...  It told her that she needed to update (fine) the updater was out of date and needed to update (FINE )... NOW WHAT? -->  Updated the updater, and couldn't find the mirrors again. 

We can get planeshift to run, and frangetics will fail and/or what happened above will happen.

She's kinda like on edge, really loves the game and really wants to get back in and play again!  All the technical support you can give will be muchly appreciated!

My daughter is sweet, and truthful we have tried everything.  Could it be cause we are on the other side of the world? (New zealand)  or is it something else?

hmm, I might have a solution, unsure though.

My client updated successfully using the updater. try using this updaterconfig file

put it in the 'planeshift crystal Blue' folder, but make sure you back up your current one beforehand (even if it doesnt work)

@Moira, after updating the updater, you need to check Sygate to make sure that the Updater has full access. If a program changes at all sygate will block it. After updating you will need to do the same for the client with sygate. hope this works for ya

There is no fool like an old fool    Ok sygate was the problem and I am up and running now!  Gosh, thanks for all your help with this even though it was my silliness that kept me outta the game   Your all great and I appreciate it heaps!
