Hi,
A lot of information has been added to the pswiki in the last day or so it would be nice if a few people would look over what we have so far and let us know on irc (if possible) what they think needs to added, corrected, changed, moved, or what ever so we can try to make this the best we can. If you cant get on irc you can add your comments about pages to the discussion tab for each page.
Just remember your input will make this even better then it is so far.

Thanks,

Illori

I like it!  I just went through and spiced up the monsters page a bit (http://pswiki.xordan.com/index.php/Monsters), adding the Carkarass and Grendol beasties and going a little more in depth on the descriptions of some of the creatures.  I am looking forward to trolling that and adding bits of info where I think it would help.

Are there any guidelines we should follow, like "Don't edit this" or "This needs more work" etc?  Any info would be great.

As it is changing so often it is best to ask on the irc channel #planeshift-wiki.

Thanks for the help so far,

Illori

Yes, there is, kind of.
First, the main purpose for the wiki is to edit the given docs. That means that especially the ingame help needs to be in a format afterwards that is easy to convert back into the original one (in this case the help.xml).
By no means you should put in spoilers (quest solutions, where exactly to find mobs or specific NPCs, maps, how to craft specific items, etc).
There is a ToDo list on the wiki as well, where you can see what needs help.. and the IRC channel where you can ask :)

In the MediaWiki engine you can do various things that you also find on Wikipedia (it's the same engine). So you can include top-screen warnings on much debated issues, and you can freeze an article that many agree on is "perfect". Discussion on pending article changes doesn't have to be on the forum, or on IRC, because every WikiMedia entry has a special discussion page.

But Thom not all of us have time to read over all of that and waiting for replies before editing so the irc channel helps alot

You would only have to follow the discussion for page that actually concerns you, so it's not much. The reason that IRC isn't fit for this purpose is because a)Not all people use/want to use IRC b)You would actually have to be online at the same time as the other involved users. You can also just edit a page and add your arguments for the edit in the discussion page, if people can prove your arguments are flawed, they can simply revert your changes.

You have issues man..

If you want to discuss stuff, you can do it here, on the wiki or in IRC; it doesn't matter exactly where. Everyone's favourite way.

Now, what about just leaving that silly discussion and getting on the actual work?

Kerol can you please edit the new URL into the initial posting? I came here to complain that the URL there isn't working. Be glad that I read it all... :P
