The mesh-change-upon-equip system is a big step for customability, even if it does add a bit more work. What we need is a larger number of (rather good) modelers to speed up what everyone wants to see.

I'd prefer to be castrated then see samurai swords and katana's in planeshift, maybe something remotely similar, but not blatant. these weapons are over hyped, and in some games over powered. too many wannabe ninjas

Samurai and katanas are things of this world, not Yliakum. The cultures and histories of the PlaneShift races differ very much from the growth our own have experienced, so something that location- and time-specific isn't going to be found in the game. Knights however, since this is a medieval world, are bound to be found in one form or another - members of some honorary military rank, noble birth, etc.

Why aren't all of the armors available to the public yet? Sheilds are available, along with a few glyphs like summon, but they don't even work. Could we just be provided all of the armor that's implimented and wait for them to be fixed or whatever and actually work? I hate having one half chainmail and the other half leather...on menkis it's disgusting looking.

Kran will have platemail - the only race that just isn't able to wear anything that heavy/strong is the Klyros.
