Well well well, Phin is a little nostalgic.

Indeed, I have that feeling myself, that I'm growing old together with some people around here. I remember I was just a kiddo when I first "made contact" with PlaneShift, and the game was in its early stages. That, if it could have been called a game, being more "on the paper".

I think one of the first persons I've ever talked was Washi, Paul Shane for who knows. He was a member of the PR dep. at that time. It happened on IRC, in a channel which I believe it hardly had 5-7 people online. That was in the end of the glorious year 2001.

I was playing Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption then, online I mean. It also was the time when Black Order, maybe a common name, but a damn common name for which I stayed several hours on my sofa to "make it". It was a clan for Vampire, soon becoming one for PS. It did write history here, and it sure "shaped" me since it was created. I have so many memories related to the Black Order and PlaneShift, it's funny you know. 'Ehh, it became a way of life. A few weeks ago I found some papers with some information about it, and it sure put a smile on my face.

I was mesmerized by the thought I could help a project such as PS, and I did, in a way. I became a member of the PR dep. and after little time, with FireStorm's departure, I also became the leader of the department. This was in the year 2002. I say it once again, I was a kiddo, a kiddo who started working in the games development area. I put the word "working" in italics, because mostly I didn't do that, it was more "playing", I was having fun I believe. But I thank this project because it made me eager to learn more about this industry, it made me eager to create, to work in this domain. And I am. Later this summer, Ankh Entertainment S.R.L. (www.ankhent.com) turned into reality, it's the games development company I own together with two of my friends.

I've met so many people in here, some left, others came, or simply people who stayed here no matter what. It's the only community, which can be called a community. And that will never change, no matter who will be here. I've also met people who turned out to be very good friends, and not just in PlaneShift. Phinehas is an example, he did help me many times regarding some events of my personal life, he made me open my eyes sometimes, or simply he was just there to listen to me when I needed someone.

Don't know, I'm the kind of person who stays a lot outdoors, I go in clubs/discos every weekend, different kind of trips and everything, I have a relative large circle of friends, a girlfriend who I love, uhh, but I never forgot to check PS from time to time. Speaking of my girlfriend, some of you might know her, Cherry (Alina). I always tried to "drag" the ones dear to me in here, and sometimes I succeeded.

I checked my first post in here, I kinda laugh hehe.

Hi.
I want to say that a new clan of Plane Shift had been formed - Black Order - (actually has about 2 months..but now everyone can join - Black Order is the 7th clan of PlaneShift...). The address is

                     www.black-order.go.ro

And from that simple English I had, I turned out into this: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/30201467/

I was in high school in the end of 2001, now I'm a student of one of the most famous Universities in Romania, studying Public Relations and Communication. This, after I dropped the last two Universities I was attending to. I like the way things went, and 2006 sure was unique for me.

I have many moments, important to me, related to PS as well. I remember when I had the eye surgeries, god, it sure were some of my dark moments. It's really hard to forget let's say Mogura, who then actually kept my informed via my mobile phone about how things are in here, she was asking me how I'm feeling and stuff. Nice uhh?

Phin you were right, I don't need to keep for myself some things. On the 12th of December I'll have an eye surgery again at the right eye, cataract. It was formed due to the last intervention, it's logical in a way. I feel I wanna' scream sometimes, but mehh, looking forward to pass this as well, I have the "right" people near me. Oh well, I wanted you to know so some of you won't shout "he's gone again!", the operation will keep me away from the pc for a while. Smile.

:)

What can I say more, I'd like sometime in the future to have a meeting with some of the members of this community. For me, they're friends. I never kept a border between "real life" and people from here. And I suggest you to do the same, that's the way things should be. PlaneShift "shaped" me in a way, and I'm glad for that. And I hope you realize I'm not referring to the game here. PS is more than just that game "where you walk and kill a monster". Phin, Induane, Val, Jekkar, Kiern, Aelya, Grono, Sep and many many others showed me that.

I guess I've already said too much, so I'll come to an end.

Farewell, and see ya next year, and the next one after the next year and so on! And if I forgot something to say, don't worry, it's somewhere hidden in my mind.

:innocent:

Fishy. One of my first posts with this account(had an older before, called "Belark") was this...
Quote
Ummm, i made a picture of a Broonin. Guessi thought ?t was a good idea and the idea gave me new inspiration Smiley

Well, here it is:)
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f78/Belark/Broonin2.jpg

I had a bit of a problem with shadows. Maybe it\'s not enough or too many of\'em but someone encouraged me to send it so here it is:) In last minute i forgot the arms but i guess the branches on its trunk are those. Might put\'em there if you want me to. This Broonin is sort of wakening up after winter or is just going to sleep on a huge boulder, judging by that the young Broonin can fit it with roots and all. Pretty good place to lap sunshine while keeping distance from lumberjacks Smiley

Well, i guess i\'m done critisizing this enourmous picture, and i guess this belongs in the fan art section Sad [DOH!]

[I\'m Belark BTW, this is my school alias]

Uh, yeah, i've been meeting alot of great people, some I have grown attached to, some've joined the devs, i've had alot of tips and stuff to see on these forums, helping me with my artsing, i'm really happy to be here and is going, i've spent alot of time on this forum, ok, at least before, i've been busy helping people with the KCP which is apparently set on ice until further notice, apparently. I've had alot of support and fun with this community, a real greatr community actually, forums have gone haywire but we've stayed intact under the guidance of our mods, Devs saying hello like most Dev's don't, discussing with the community, getting it to contribute, lifting up new artist to WTB's, this sure is a community of success.

I salute you!

If you haven't gotten used to it by now, then you never will.

Well, my first post is a surprisingly literate entry in the Wish List:

Quote

I wish there could be a freer combat system. Most mmorpgs are heavily based around combat. Wouldn\'t it be nice to be able to use different weapons however we wanted, instead of standing there watching little numbers while we hit the monster, then the monster hits us, then we hit the monster etc. I wish we could use the mouse or keys to actually swipe or stab, or aim. They would only have to be very general, but it would infinitely improve the freedom of the game. Just think, if you saw someone else struggling, you could just whip out a bow, aim, and place a few arrows in the foul beast\'s head. This would also enable you to fight more than one enemy at a time. None of this would have to change experience levels, or weapon stats or anything, it would just involve the player so much more in the combat.

Three minutes later... the horror begins.

Lol, that was cruel! Very cruel! I like it!

Anyway, like Sangwa, a lot of the people here have meant a lot to me. I can think of numerous times when Annah would cheer me up when I was depressed because I take everything too seriously. I appreciate the people I meet here. I would put in a list of names, but I don't think I could remember everyone, and would hate to leave someone out.

I came 5 days ago, everyone seems nice (or at least silent) to me,

Ok, if you need a huge world (I know it\'s a demo but one town isn\'t enough) you could distribute a simple map editor.  Then take map submissions and add the best ones.

Just an idea...

Not too many people from my "generation" continue to meander about here.  Though I find it hard to believe it has only been three years.  I've always been me though

Though I probably still am too.

I fail to feel the whole growing old together thing as much as Phinny here, but in a few years I'm sure.

Before you wave your magic wand and set me afire, let me say that I spent the last three hours Searching the forum and reading posts on the subjects I wish to expand upon.
First, portals and instant transportation.  The fear that this will ruin PS is well founded.  However, players may have the need or wish to get to their destination quickly.  So here is my solution: Draw inspiration From Robert thJordan?s ?The Eye of the World? (a must read book) and create a form of the Ways.
Imagine this... The sting of an assassin?s Shendar Beetle poisons a wealthy merchant?s daughter and she has only hours to live.  In desperation, he  calls on the aid of your group of heroes to find the only known cure , a four days journey away in the far off Cliffs of Asuran.  It looks hopeless.  BUT WAIT!!  There is still the Ways!  Asuran is only a half-hour away by the Ways.  You know, however, that as the distances are compressed, so too are the dangers.  ...

heh xD My first posts have such bad spelling.. like 'u' instead of 'you' :P I was a n00b spellzor. However I still agree with a fair bit of the content.

I miss those days too. We could bring them back, but I'm going to need a little backup. It's rather hard being elitist and rejectionist all by your lonesome, although, to my credit, I'm doing a dandy job.
