A short guild goal: To set up a nomadic tribe outside of civilation
Website: http://ostriektribe.tripod.com (Under Construction)
Contact: ostriektribe@yahoo.com

The Ostriek Tribe was founded to create a nomadic society out side the major cities resulting in a primative barbaric civiliation. From traveling place the Tribe Members hardely enter the cities unless to restock up on supplies or for training. Our stead-fast settlements are marked using Tefusang Skins, as mats for sitting and day to day actvities. We gladly welcome outsiders as long as they show proper etiquette and respect our ways. We also offer numerious items to be sold or traded.

History: As Ototravi Marknos looked out at Hydlaa and saw the massive corruption and horrid polution that the city has brought, he thought to himself, "With out this city and resorting to survival of the fitist their would be less corruption and hatred". So from their Ototravi collected only some necciesties and gathered his fellow comrades togather and stated his plan of a great exidus from the city to start a nomadic commune. This incited the begiuning of the Ostriek Tribe. However closing off completely from the city left the tribe weak and helpless, so the newly appointed Chieftain, Ototravi made a "Non-Hostle Outsider Decree" stating that if an outsider wishes to enter the tribes terratory they shall not be harmed unless disrespectful and theirfor be exicuted. Also Ototravi passed a "Visitation Right" allowing tribal members to enter and exit the cities as long as they do not stay for an enlongated period of time.

Nice! I quite like it. I think there was something like this before but it never got of the ground. I hope you do

One thing though: Do you not think Kaiser implies order and... um.. non-barbarianness. It does mean Emperor after all...
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Oh yeah. But in all instances where the word Kaiser itself is used has it not refered to a German emperor? They were fairly civilised...

I didn't mean to nitpick too much. Maybe you should wait for someone elses opinion too.

*Matt, with an angry-looking little man on his shoulder.*

Actually very good. I'm pleased with this. It has true potential. I also like how the history is somewhat realistic, not one of these "An uber-being of blackness came from the void of dark despair and so we're gonna kill it" histories. Very applaudable.

However...

First of, I belive you mean "etiquette", not "edicate". Secondly, for your ranks, it seems a bit strange to have all ranks that are actual words, except three which are either made up or from a foreign language. I know it's more taxing on your creativity, but I'd strongly suggest going with either all made up words, or all real words. Thirdly, I only briefly glanced at your site, but I'm suggesting coming up with a banner that looks less like it was drawn in Paint, as that really affects how seriously other people will take you.

Now the biggy: How will you RP this in-game? Will you actually try and stay out of the cities? If so, it's going to be difficult, but if members of your barbaric tribe are walking all over Hydlaa, then we have a problem. I want to know how you're going to do this, as in my opinion it will be the deciding factor as to whether this becomes a great guild, or just another of the masses of non-descript essentially pointless guilds.

Actualy reasearch your histroy since those are either germanic warriors or nordic warriors (the guild titles) and the rp'ing is mostly to stay for barbaric state of mind, such as speech and raiding travelers and such, i know that we MUST go into cities but were gonna try to do so rarely only when needed.

My point stands. I still say go with either all foreign words, or none. Not half and half.

Anyway, I think there is an opportunity for a real player-run nomadic tribe in this game, but I'm guessing you're not going to be it from your reply.

Until there are trainers available outside the cities it will be impossible to stay out and still develop the character. Perhaps though with the tribes mentioned in  another thread it will be possible if they can provide training. Supplies can always be brought in by outsiders, spare characters, etc.

Indeed, I mean, there obviously can be player merchants, and there are plenty of things to kill out there. It would be realistic for the merchants to visit Hydlaa to restock every once in a while. As for training, I understand that part, but coming into town just to visit trainers would be a necessary evil. Also, my understanding is that for blacksmithing one needs the anvil at Harnquist's, but other than that I think a nomadic tribe is a realistic goal.

Nomads move from place to place, never having a true home. That's basically the definition of a Nomad.

That doesn't mean he can't come back to Hydlaa though.

But i'd have to say, since they are constantly moving together, they wouldn't visit hydlaa much.

If they truly did this, walked together as a group.... i would be kind of bored.

But again, i've never actually tried this so maybe it is more fun working together, than i thought.

Good luck with the guild
