1) No, those screenshots are mostly out of date. There are different skins available to use that you can switch between by using your PSSetup.exe and selecting which skin you'd like to use. To get a better idea of what the game looks like, try browsing the
Screenshots thread.2) There is no mini map of the world and will probably never be one. Maps will be introduced with the cartography skill, that's still in developement. There are, however crude drawings of the world and maps and the like thrown around the forums and in the Hydlaa library in game is a old map on the wall.
3) Yes. Your in game options has all your commands you can use, or close to them. Keep in mind, that this is a game still in developement, so that documentation may be a little bit behind on the current commands at times. If you are referring to talking with NPCs, then have a read of this thread:
Getting Started In Game4) I run defaults with a few minor changes to jump key, camera angle change key, run key, etc. Every key is fully customiseable to suit your preference. Its in the in game options.
5) I average 300-500 ms pings. There is a little lag most of the time, and some times it's more. I forget exactly where the server is phisically located, but I think it's something like in SouthEast Asia. There is a little, but most people get used to it.
6) No. Make sure your video card drivers are most up to date as possible. The game engine uses OpenGL, not DirectX, so having DirectX updated won't cut it. If you're having graphics issues, there is a forum area for bugs and problems in game. Try searching through that area for help.
7) There are no levels in the sense of WoW type leveling. There are, however, different types of stats and skills that you can train, to grow stronger, hit harder with a sword, etc.
8 ) The main planeshift.it site has a detailed history about the makings of this game. The link escapes me at this time, but if you want to be technical, it was first made in MUD form way back in 1994 ish, if I recall correctly.
9) As stated, anything you can kill can be looted. Command: "/loot" Keep in mind, not every kill will have loot in the way of items, Tria (in game monetary units), weapons, etc. Some Mobs don't ever drop items as loot. All mobs, however, will award experience and Progression Points when killed though.
Have fun.
