If you update your client, you'll have to redownload the new map.

The map is working for me in the sense that it's not crashing my client anymore.  However, it's still disconnecting me.  I log in, and I'm already disconnected.  I know this because my stamina bar is blank, I can't see who is online, my inventory looks empty, I can't communicate or unstick, etc.  If I wait long enough, I get a message saying that I've been disconnected.

This only happens on my computer with a cheep internet connectino though.  On a computer with an average internet connection, it works fine.  However, this problem only happens to me in the Bronze Door region, as well as the tavern.

(By the way.... I don't suppose a GM could give my character a trip to the death realm?  I thought I'd get a chance to do some Bronze Door quests this weekend, but I was too busy with other things.)

hi, i'm using a mac min G4 4 gig ram, video card is ATI radeon 9200 32 meg ram. I've always lagged like hell in BD. i've d/l the fix. I've renamed my old bd folder and put the new one. I logged out in bd region. Now.. ps doesnt start anymore, it crashes at loading the region. So i put the old one back, and ps is working.. but.. still lag... it's only when i look in waterfall direction. And the ground is still black.. so i dont see where i walk. everything is ok, Just the ground. I see the rocks, trees and everything.. :(

For many people it also seems to help to enable Vertex Buffer Objects in pssetup.
Thank you verry much! My Computer crashed when entering the Bronze Doors (loading new region)...every time without a chance to leave again.

Unfortunately, no. LigH has experimented a bit with it without luck :(

this worked for me... what does the Vertex Buffer Objects change when you turn it on or off? sorry if it's a stupid question  :P

I followed the procedure mentioned here and it still crashes. I'm sure I did it correctly. I renamed the original file and copied the temporary fix into the art/world folder. What happens now is that my computer crashes right after it says "Loading GUI" and the sounds start playing.

I have 1GB RAM, and an "Integrated Intel®  Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with DVMT 7 3.0 delivers low-power, high-performance 2D/ 3D graphics, video and display capabilities at a maximum shared memory of 224MB"

I'd like to point out that when I first when to Bronze Doors it was fine (without needing a fix). I also have vertex buffer on, made no difference. I also updated my drivers.

I'm pretty sure I got the right ones, I got the ones for my chipset. But I'll reinstall it and see if it does anything. Though I doubt it will. It's really weird.

**Edit**

You were right I updated my drivers again and made sure it was correct and suddenly BD works! :D

I'm not sure whether this can fix the problems I sometimes have on BDroad1: My screen turns black every few seconds, so that I even can't type a word in (except /die :)). Is this part of the problem you are talking about in this thread?

+ Vertex Buffer is turned on
+ GeForce Ti 4200
+ latest Nvidia-driver (installed 2 weeks ago)
+ SuSE Linux 10.0

I'm a totally noob in gfx-cards... You are free to laugh now :D or sending me a smoke signal.

When my screen turns black on BDroad1 I press CTRL+ALT+DEL and the KDE-session-menu comes up where I press CANCEL. Then I can type in one or two letters in the PS-chat-window and the screen turns to black again.

new error
when first entering bd from the tunnel/road
a huge empty gaping hole appears to the left of the entrance
when walking over that hole in the map you fall and respawn ontop of it
and the hole is gone, ground again

solution to the memory leak/lag
simply break bd map into 3 different loaded maps
bd main land area
bd ramp & eagle's nest area
bd tunnels w/ western tower and tunnel system

i feel its just lagging and memory leaks because the video is trying to display this HUGE area all at once
and its just not working
even with minumum display distance set to 0 and fps at max or even adaptive distance adjusted similar it has no effect and displays everything all at once

so rework the BD map and split it into 2 or 3 different maps to better adjust the lag/memory leak

and also that strange blackness and hole near the entrance to the map
