Thanks Vulcas! You saved me hours of downloading a 2.4 GB torrent for playing a game which quality is questionable!
Yes, I'm very demanding on such things(I avoid games that have excessive negative reviews on GameFAQs, specially when the positive ones seem to be made by fanboys, just as an example), time to BUY something really good or to download a true classic from Abandonware.
Or perhaps I should go back to Anachronox, a good game despite some bugs.
It's quality isn't in question. And I'm a fanboy because it's such a brilliant game. I've played Grim Fandango, Curse of the Monkey Island (which is SO much more overrated than TLJ), Syberia I (not II, since I was so bland), Myst I-III, All of Yahtzee's games, a massive amount of Lucas Arts and Sierra games from back in the day, some newer games made using AGS (including 'fatman'... amusingly enough), The Dig, Paradise ( a prequel to Syberia), all the Broken Swords, the old Alone in the Darks, Day of the Tentacle (which was pretty funny), and loads more I can't remember.
The Longest Journey was my favourite.
And you can look at ANY other Adventure Game sites, and The Longest Journey would be listed as one of the top 20 games, and hailed as a classic.
In fact, read
Adventure Gamers or
JustAdventure or simply look at all the high-rating reviews from websites all over the globe at
Meta CriticIn other words, I may be a fanboy, but Vulcas is the opposite - he refuses to accept TLJ as a great game 'cause he hates the its writer...
