version 0.3.017 had less character stuck to wall/hill/slope than 0.3.018.

with 0.3.018 i used the command /unstick more than 5 times at least each time i play

i have been asking around and apparently it not just me regarding this bug/issue.

bug/issue.

Let's see...if only we had a place for bugs...

Damn, how shortsighted people have been!
We can't Track bugs through this forums.

Quick, Devs, think of something!

Personally, I think this is a fair use of the complaint forum although come to think of it the technical help fora might be better. I do agree it could get out of hand. Some people have difficulty finding the Bug Tracker others have difficulty using it appropriately. I think this might be a good intermediary place for people to mention things they think might be bugs so that if there is consensus someone with more skill at reporting bugs can post them to the bugtracker. It would also help keep the bugtracker clear of confused and duplicate reports.

After saying that it might be a good idea for there to be a link to the bugtracker on the main forum page (i.e. make "Please read the stickied posts before you post. Please report bugs to http://bugs.hydlaa.com" clickable which it isn't in the forum description) to make it easier. Perhaps that is not possible or it would already be that way.

To be honest, your complaints about bugs are supposed to go here.

But the getting stuck bug...that's just...

I'll leave it at that.

I've experienced this problem as well.  It's weird, but very easily replicated.

I just wish there was an alternate unstick command... with the one we have... I've occasionally unstuck to a stuck position... and then end up having a choice of toggling between two 'stuck' positions or using '/die'.

A weird, but possibly useful additional option would be a forced-push in a direction with a time delay.

Like a "/shove forward" command with a 60 second delay that could forcefully move your character in a certain direction.

Of course... this would probably be open to exploit and requires people to learn something they shouldn't have to anyway... so I've probably already killed my own idea ;)

Yeah... sticking in scenery sucks... shame the devs can just *easily* attribute some sort of directional pushing force for each polygon or object-mesh. - But the "easily" part is probably why it's not already like that!

You could always give the intermediate GMs the ability to move people a small distance, rather than, (as Caarrie informed me) only the option to teleport to DR.  (The only time I ask GMs to help me like this is if I get stuck in scenery at BD... 'cuz I spawn in Oja, and as I've learned... intermediate GMs can't help you to avoid that long journey if problems do occur!!!)

Since then we have been given permission to slide characters that are stuck but we have to still determine how you got stuck if you fell down a hill and then got stuck i dont see it my job to go and slide you out of that position.

No I think that's a given... I mean.. just stuck in scenary... a perfect example...

I was stuck in the railings at the arena earlier... and on /unstick .. was stuck in the railings a few 'meters' away.

I had the choice of being stuck in railings, stuck in railings a few 'meters' away.. or DR.

I chose DR because I didn't want to bother you or Mektar!!! (and I'd assumed, based on what you'd told me in the past that it was probably still not possible to move people like that still!!) ;)

Anyway... good to know... :)

You've always had permission to move characters stuck due to a bug.

The gm guide told us we are only to move players to the death realm and a few of us read that as we cant move players unless we move them to the deathrealm so that was what we did till we talked to Talad. So not all of us read it the same so that does not mean we had permission before.

I don't see anything here saying that you can only move players to the death realm.  The GM guide must be different.
