Anyone else found any bizzarre RP related stories?
I have a friend who participates in recreations of medieval battles. They're competitive and there are referees of sorts who make sure people follow the rules. When you get hit, you can't use that limb. If someone delivers you a critical hit, you have to play dead - even if it happens right at the start. There are different clubs in North America and the bigger teams have kings who get carried around on those little carts. Everyone gets dressed up on it, and they're wearing real armour and they have blunt swords.
So the two biggest teams in North America rent out a park in New York, and they're going to go at it. The kings travel to the middle, sign declarations and conditions of war, and then return to their teams and they form lines. That's when the police show up.
The police had formed a line some distance away, perpendicular to the two lines of armored knights. The King of the bigger club calls out an order to both armies to swing around and form a single line. There's a special word for it, I forget what it is, but he called out that word and they obeyed. So you have a line of riot police facing a line of knights in armour. Two groups of well armoured, well armed, highly trained fighters.
The kings on their carts (whatever they're called) get carried through the lines and go off towards the police line to meet the police chief. They show the police the papers showing that they had rented out the park. The police chief didn't believe them at first, but was forced to leave them alone after getting a few more officials involved who confirmed that the documents were legit.
Fun stuff.
