meh, he's not really that much of a challenge from what I've seen, needs more hp.

I do agree with Earl though, harder npc's should give better loot/pp.

A complaint about a strong monster  ??? If you can't handle him group up or run. If he's one of the strongest mobs in the arena then i'm sure he'll have even more HP in the future, i'm sure a strong warrior would have no trouble with him.

I was really wondering if he had become bugged somehow and I got my answer, his damage is intentional. All the rest of the thread is gravy (rancid and otherwise.)  ;D

you kidding? We always have something to complain about. I find it funny how he can kill a lot of players in ps. bout 80% 100% if caught off guard at furnace :D i would not mind him giving slighty more exp though, items.. well i could care less really ;). I would love to see him attack a king tefu though :D think you could arrange it? ;)

I think the solution is a group offensive.

Damn glad for it too.  I dislike completly solable NPC's all through the game. But yeah if you really want to solo him i guess you could try magicing him from a distance.
But more fun s too be had mob lynching the guy.

Well the dlayo like most gladiators does not target to attack someone unless you yourself targeted him. Hes what I call a docile npc, they don't attack unless provoked.

In my opinion, the stats/loot relations of the NPCs are discouraging anyway. I never understood how so many people could sell Iron/Silverweave weapons - as if they were not as rare as expected. Do they camp the one and only loot point for days? After 1.5 years in game, I don't even know anymore which NPC drops anything valuable at all. "Fewer" is the only answer I have. So my experienced alts don't know where to spend their thousands of PPs, and my noob alts don't know where to get any in less than a week.

As far as that goes the arena joes are as good as they ever were relatively speaking and it is my impression that the iron/silverweave weapons are more common now they have been dialed back. The thugs under the temple are nearly useless now because a character able to benefit from their relative weakness can no longer survive the trip through the well and while some acrobatics might get you around the wall blocking the exit, it is not easy. There is also the odd bandit-rogue-brigand in the wilderness that drops stuff and some rogues in Oja but you have to be careful as some are exceptionally strong, give no loot or both.

I think the looting has been balanced considerably of late but I have not tried all the lootable mobs lately.

Since yesterday (may have been before) the Dlayo has become a great challenge, first npc i've seen that runs, hits hard and blocks well.

Makes for a good challenge, and the loot/pp's are great now. Thanks!

This is... beyond cool, never had this much fun against an NPC

Just a note, the server has a hard time determining where Dlayo died, so sometimes you have to search around to loot.  Not to bring this achievement down, as it's obvioulsy a giant leap in the right direction :)
