Places to set up assassinations <.<

Oops, that isn't an example of a park  :-[... but it was used for it.

Nah, anywhere is adequate for it, so don't ask questions if you value your life! One of us is your friend.

A lake? What about filling it with fishes so I can get a fishing rod and go there... Nervous? Go to fishing!

The park.... A pretty place in the day time where couples gather and stretch out on the grass, find small area's to crawl off too and generally relaxation for all. The idea was for this to be a tranquil place all the time...

However when dusk falls and the shadows take over the local thieves find this a useful landscape to rob innocdent bystanders, rival gangs use the plains as a war ground, the coules dozing together in their hidey holes wake up with a knife in their throats because they are too close to a cutthroats stash, a murderers bone pile, or are simply easy pickings for a young lowlife in the making.

As beautiful as it is in the day.... how do you think the flowers take on such a full red hue?

Well it seems that the park would need to have rangers. Maybe we should enlist the help of the Rangers of Yliakum.  :D Also, if it were possible. Make the lighting effect the landscaping more, so as dusk approaches everything would start to take on a orangish-red color. As it is, I often overlook sunset when I'm running around town because I don't realize it's happening.

There is no real "sunset" in Yliakum due to the Crystal :) The changes are not as pronounced as they are on Earth.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Ah well, so much for that idea. Maybe there could be crystals on stands in the park that act like lanterns to light areas up and they would change color in reaction to the change in the Crystal. That would be really neat!  :D

I like this idea too.  It would be fun if it had a stage for UTM to perform on.  ;)

I hope Talad supports it.  Maybe it will happen.

That's a really good idea.  I hadn't thought about a stage, that would provide a place for people to showcase their musical instrument skills *cough* when it's implemented *cough*.  \\o//

A winding brick path with beautiful flowers along the sides, a small flowing stream near by, the sweeet chirpping of birds from the lavander peddels of the lowly growing trees. The calmness away from the busteling smithie, somewhere away from the plaza, but in hydlaa, just to be away from the noisy auction-ers. A peaceful place with gentile harp music and the trickeling of water from the nearby stream.....

Lots of fauna that doesnt want to kill you and some non tree/mushroom aka 'pretty' flora would be nice. And as its spring where i am i want to see lots of blossom! Oh and i want to be able to kill the rabbits for a stew... and have cooking implented and have BBQs in the park. Oh and frisbys! bicycles would be nice. I might just go outside now, i wonder what thats like.

Not sure what a reference for another MMOLRPG has to do with the park idea - maybe someone can split the post or just remove it.

I think the idea of a large park is the best wish list post of the year.  ;D

A humorous joke on the idea that rather than trying to incorporate all this realism into the game, people should instead go play outside, the most "realistic" game there is.  A tidbit offtopic post that as long as it stays like that and it doesn't derail the topic of this thread any more, will be fine and I don't see the need to clean it up yet.

As for the park discussion at hand, I think a wonderful spot for it, would be developing that area with the gazebo into the beginnings of the park zone.  All that wide open space there just itching for development, twould be cool.

Tux is universal

Another thing that would be interesting is hedge mazes.  Toss in a couple spots with that one-way paint and maybe some secret passages (some non-dense walls, right-click able ground that reveals a tunnel, etc.)

If there's a big pond/small-lake, have boats (though that may take a bit to implement unless they are not controllable and just follow one of several set courses).
Of course, you'd also have to have fishing in that case.

A park would also need a field for whatever sports get played in Hydlaa.

Finally, there should be a big honkin' sandbox for the youngsters, and maybe some treehouses (with ziplines between them?)

Did you get the number on that one-eyed rat?
