Hello Everyone.
Take a moment please and stop what you are doing. Let us pretend for just a
while that I am the teacher in front of the class. My word, there must be two
hundred of you out there. I have something to say I think it is important.
Thank you, now I have your attention.
Look at this crowd from all over the world, look at all the different age
groups. We have one thing in common, Planeshift. It is a game we play for all
different reasons. May it be because we like to do the crafting, the role play,
or just to dig gold all day. I heard one person say that it saddened him when
he had to leave because he so loved to role play and could not wait until he
could get back in game again. Though I also heard someone tell me that
Planeshift is not what it used to be. I asked what he meant and he told me that
years ago it was like a ‘big family’, but it is not anymore. I remember being
in school and putting thirty kids together in one room and expecting peace was
almost impossible. So putting together two hundred people in one room from all
over the world and hoping everyone will get along can be a daunting task.
I need you all to remember something; this game is supposed to fun. Yes, fun!
Lately the all I hear is complaints about the server being down and how weapons
are not what they were or the loss of money. People, people let us not forget
the real people behind the scenes that work so hard for us so we can play this
game. First Talad, let us thank him for his endless hours he has devoted to
this game so we can enjoy it. Then all the developers who try to fix everything
so it is as good as it can be. Let us not forgot the game masters who work for
our pleasure too. For them this game has become a job and they do their best.
If we think of it that way maybe we will not complain so much.
I admit I have not being playing so very long, but I have to tell you all that
I enjoyed reading the old role plays so much more then the new ones. Read "A
Student Disappears" that Einnol and Arka wrote and "Story of Zorbels." Those
stories are great. One day I was in game and a player came up to me and told me he was leaving, but he wanted me to know he liked the way I role played. I
talked to him in tells and tried desperately to get him to change his mind. He
said the only thing I could not do anything about, "It is not a family anymore." We need to get back to being a family like it once was. We need to come together and make this an enjoyable experience for all.
Then the question must be how to make this more like the family it once was. I
think, in my opinion, that we forget there are people behind the characters and
feelings can be easily hurt. People, even if you play an evil character, you
can be nice. Think about it for a moment please. I know of many people who have cried over this game, it is that important to them. Instead of complaining
about all the problems Plainshift has, let us be glad we have this wonderful
game to play.
I want to take a minute out to thank the people who have made this experience truly enjoyable for me. Aerianna, Agara, Arka, Alliva, Althos, Caarrie, Cilay, Einnol, Elyana, Frak, Farren, Gag, Grroww, Hather, Illysia, Indygo, Karark, Kitiranna, Lelerey, Lolitra, Mordaan, Magmir, Michtymog, Nerian, Noriin, Odisseo, Ollo, Oulyma, Puterom, Robertet, Rooker, Teraree, Thigied, Thinzall, Tolol, Tungor, Velh, and Zwenze. Please forgive me if I have left anyone off my list or misspelled anyone’s name.
I have one more request before you all go and that is to take one moment in
silence to pray for Jangeol’s safe return to us.
Ok now go back to play your game, but keep in mind that this is a game full of
real people and respect is very important here. Have fun!!
